Come Fly With Fly Llanbedr

Published on 23 Oct 2015 by Gwion Llwyd

The landscape of Snowdonia is breathtaking by foot, but if you want to go one step further, taking to the skies and seeing it from above is something else. Tempted? Then look no further, it’s time to come fly with Fly Llanbedr!

Ed is the man in charge and not only do you get to fly high above the mountains, lakes and sea, he also lets you take control of the plane so you can have the experience of flying an aircraft too if you want.

Yr Eifl, Snowdonia

Our trip started from Llanbedr airfield where we headed south over Shell Island. A quick detour inland took us over Dioni headquarters; Byrdir Farm where the pink rhino was a great reference point! Continuing south we enjoyed some breathtaking views over Barmouth and the Mawddach eastury. Once over Cader Idris (top picture), we banked left and headed north over Trawsfynydd and the Rhinog Mountains. A flyby the summit of Snowdon was next with an obligatory wave to those on the summit. Then over Bangor before taking another left that took us over the iconic Yr Eifl mountain (small picture) down towards Pwllheli. Our run home saw us following the beautiful sandy Cambrian coastline past Criccieth castle and Harlech castle.

It was an incredible experience; seeing all the lakes hidden in the mountains, how flat Anglesey really is (!) and the stunning the coastline. The beauty of the area from a different perspective was truly inspiring.

Prices start from £60 for 20 mins to £160 for the full hour and if you’re ever struggling for presents for those ‘hard to buy for’, then this would be at the top of my list.
