Location

This modern four bedroom bungalow in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia) is a walker’s delight, within easy reach of the mountain villages of Llanberis and Beddgelert, and the stunning landscapes of the Llanberis Pass, the Ogwen Valley and the Glyderau.

It is also close to the main walking tracks up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), including the Pyg Track, the Miners’ Track and the Rhyd Ddu path. Perfectly placed if you’d like to take on Wales’s highest peak during your next trip to North Wales. Pen y Pass, a popular start point for a hike up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), is around 10 miles away.

The cottage is a 20 minute drive from Caernarfon, home to Wales’s most famous mighty castle, also a UNESCO World Heritage site. The town is well worth exploring, with its walled town, cobbled streets and Georgian architecture. It’s also well worth paying the small entry fee to explore the castle, and don’t miss the Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum which is housed in two of the fortress’s towers.

You’ll find the supremely pretty Eryri (Snowdonia) mountain village of Beddgelert around 30 minutes south of modern four bedroom bungalow in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia). Beddgelert is a great place to potter about, and maybe even take a picnic to enjoy on the riverbank. There are some great family-friendly walks around the village, and ample opportunities for post-ramble refreshments.

If you fancy exploring off the Welsh mainland for the day, Ynys Môn / the Isle of Anglesey is just a short hop across the Menai Bridge from nearby Bangor. Around a third of the island is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasting spectacular coastal scenery and beaches served up with a stunning mountain backdrop. There are some great towns to explore too, including Menai Bridge, Beaumaris and the surfy village of Rhosneigr.

There are plenty of outdoor specialists in the area who offer activities like coasteering, kayaking, horse riding and gorge scrambling. Adventure seekers might like to take a high-speed boat trip down the Menai Strait with Rib Ride. The cottage is a 15 minute drive from the high speed thrills of Zip World at Bethesda, and 45 minutes will get you a surf on a world-first inland surf lagoon at Adventure Parc Snowdonia, which also has an indoor ninja adventure centre.

If watersports are your thing, head to nearby Llyn Padarn where you can book in for paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing or supported wild swimming on what is one of the largest natural lakes in Wales. At Llyn Padarn you can also visit the stout ruins of the 13th century Dolbadarn Castle - a highly atmospheric fortress that played a key role in Welsh history.

If you enjoy a bit of nostalgia on your hols, you might enjoy a day out on one of the region’s heritage steam railways. Jump on board the gorgeous Welsh Highland Railway at Caernarfon for trips to Porthmadog, and Beddgelert. It’s a magical way to experience Eryri (Snowdonia)’s beautiful landscapes.

We had a wonderful week at Adwyr-Mynydd. The cottage had everything we look for when staying away, including a super enclosed garden which our dogs appreciated as much as we did! We were blessed with excellent weather which meant we had great days out and could then relax outside in the evenings and enjoy the wonderful views and sounds of the area. Would definitely recommend this cottage, the hosts were very helpful and have clearly thought about visitors’ needs in many ways. We agree with other reviewers, five stars!

This bungalow was a wonderful find and we were delighted with all aspects of it. The location was perfect for getting to Zip World, Snowden, Caernarfon and Llanberis and yet set in a quiet spot where we could walk onto the slate trail and be away from the world. The property was modern, spotless and equipped to the highest standard and our hosts made sure we had everything we needed. We loved the garden and the view and the hot tub was a real highlight. We would highly recommend this property.

This wonderful home from home was perfect for our Easter break. A great base for exploring Snowdonia, Anglesey and the west coast.

The house was immaculate and we were made to feel so welcome by our hosts. We had some spectacularly bad weather during our stay (Snow in April!) and the cottage was so cosy throughout. It also has the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in!

We will definitely return!

This bungalow is a gem – beautiful , modern fixtures and fittings, comfortable and with everything (and more) that you may need for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The right balance of privacy and attentive support if needed is a skill that Ffion and Sion have. The welcome treats are a lovely start to your stay too.
All of glorious North Wales is in easy reach – we loved swimming in the lake at Llanberis especially !!
We would highly recommend Adwyr-Mynydd. * * * * *

Lovely cottage, fab modern decor and very comfortable beds! Great communication from Ffion, who still managed to look after us even though she was away on holiday herself! The welcome basket was very much appreciated when we arrived and it was nice to start the holiday with some treats. It’s a great base for exploring that area of Wales and if the weathers not so great you can happily pass the hours in comfort and enjoy the hot tub! Highly recommend a stay there.

Spend three days here for new year & loved it. Everything you could need has been supplied by the owners. Kids spent most of the time in the hot tub. Met the owners twice & what a lovely couple they where. Made us feel very welcome. Great place for lots of walking. Would book without hesitation again.

A very comfortable warm and clean cottage – very well kitted out and the standard of equipment and furnishing were excellent and the bed was soooo comfortable.
Thanks also for the welcome hamper and the greeting from the owners on arrival was a nice touch without intruding.
Fully recommend the cottage

A great find. The cottage was of a 5 star standard and we had everything provided that we could wish for. Ideal for the dog as well. It was a great base for visiting all that North Wales has to offer. For the adventurous we would recommend a hike up the Pyg trail to Snowdon and LMG00421807 LMG00421807 the Zip wire at Zip world, only 15 minutes away by car. We found a hidden gem at Glynllifon, a country park which has so much to offer. A must is a walk up to the Ampitheatre within the park. You can also have a great walk at Newborough Warren on Anglesey where you get beach, dunes and woodland all in one.

Just had a brilliant 7 night stay with our party of 8. The house was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The views are amazing and the house is well located for visiting Snowdon and some beautiful beaches. We will definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
