Bryn- Dob is a four bedroom holiday cottage set in a picturesque location near Caernarfon and Zip World, Bethesda. Set high up above the village of Tregarth, the views looking out towards the Menai Straits and Anglesey are fantastic, especially with a birds eye view of Penrhyn Castle set amongst it all.

The entrance to the house is around the back and brings you into the kitchen. A lovely farm style kitchen with a large range cooker and kitchen table that comfortably seats six. All the modern appliances you would expect and need are here to cater for your group whilst on holiday. Off from the kitchen is a garden room style sitting room. Lots of windows in here which naturally make it light and airy. It will be a popular room in the winter months with the addition of a modern gas fire mounted on the wall.

Back through the kitchen and onto a second sitting room which has the more traditional inglenook fireplace with a good sized log burner. Two comfy sofas and a TV make this room a great place to relax during your stay.

There are two bedrooms, a single and a double, located on the ground floor. Both are decorated in light tones making them feel very peaceful. There is also a shower room with WC on this ground floor.

Up stairs there are a further two bedrooms, a double and a twin. These two rooms are warmer in terms of the decoration and benefit from the fantastic views the cottage has to offer. The twin room is a zip and link bed which can easily be made back into a double on request.

Location

Tregarth is a small village in between Caernarfon and Bangor. It has a small village shop in which you can buy local supplies and that all important pub. Bangor is only a 10 minute drive away and where you will find a Tescos and the bigger chain stores.

The cottage is really well located to enjoy some of the great attractions of the area. A stone's throw away from Bethesda, it is a great place to stay if Zipworld is on your agenda. Caernarfon Castle is a 15 min drive and Conwy in the opposite direction, 30 mins away where you will find Surf Snowdonia and of course the Castle.

The Lon Las Ogwen Cycle path goes straight through the village as it runs along two disused railway tracks taking you from Caernarfon to Bangor; a great cycle ride that is suited to all abilities and it’s fairly flat!

We have just arrived home after a wonderful week at Bryn Hyfryd cottage. Everything about it was perfect! The location was great, the cottage was beautiful and the layout was ideal for our large family and dog. Chris the owner popped up to check that everything was ok and told us a little bit about the history of the cottage, dating back to 1817 which we found fascinating. The cottage has everything we needed and more. Would highly recommend.

A lovely place in a great location. Everything was taken care of and it was perfectly comfortable for our family of 7. Two very little things that would have been better – a ladle for serving food, and a clean toilet brush in the main bathroom. Also main bathroom shower needs a good clean. Other than that it was perfect. Thank you.

In a word fabulous, the cottage was ideally situated, it for-filled all our requirements, it was extremely clean and well provide, even down to a first-aid kit!
Our only down comment is that although the gardens are fenced/walled in they are not secure! perhaps a gate at the front and closing the five bar gates, if it were possible, as there is a stake driven in,stopping the gates being closed.
However our dogs being well trained did not venture out.

A lovely two week stay with family. All the amenities we needed were in the cottage for our stay. Chris was very helpful as we had a small issue with the shower which he sorted straight away. One small request would be a gate by the front door…we had several strangers dogs in the garden from the footpath and several sheep we didn’t expect either!! Other than that I can highly recommend and it was perfectly situated for Snowdonia, Anglesey and the North Wales coast. Thank you for a great holiday.

We had a wonderful week staying in this lovely accommodation. There was loads to do in the area and a week definitely wasn’t long enough. The second lounge was our seating area of choice, so light with lovely views. A small request, please could you provide a teapot and tea strainer!

Bryn Hyfryd is a wonderful place to stay and Chris the owner was very helpful. The accommodation is excellent and has everything you need, we would all highly recommend staying there.

Lovely home perfect for all seven of us plus our dog. Beautiful location with lots of footpaths on the doorstep for walking. Would love to come back so much more to see and do.

We stayed at Bryn Hyfryd for 3 nights and I’m afraid it wasn’t long enough.
It is a beautiful house in a peaceful location with lovely views across the bay and the countryside. The locality of the cottage is excellent as there are lots of things to do in the area. We had activities booked in Caernarfon and Betws y Coed, which were at most, a 20-30 minute drive away.
The house is furnished to a good standard and has everything you need. The bedrooms are a good size and having a double bedroom and shower room downstairs was beneficial to us as we had elderly parents with us, meaning they didn’t have to worry about climbing the stairs. There are 2 reception rooms, which works well when travelling with teenage children who insist on taking there PS4 with them and the kitchen has everything you need in a home from home. I could go on describing the house to you, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t do it justice. But I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for somewhere to stay in North Wales.
Whilst we were there, we met Chris the owner, who was friendly, accommodating and helpful, and also his dog Inca, who was a delight.
The only suggestion I would have for the owners, is to perhaps put a table and chairs in the garden making it more comfortable, as my elderly parents struggled to sit at the bench/table and we like to spend a lot of time sitting and eating outdoors.
