This beautiful manor house near Beaumaris on Anglesey is welcoming and luxurious – perfect for special get-togethers, memorable holidays, and celebrations. It sleeps up to 12 guests, and well-behaved pets are also welcome.

Isn't it a wonderful thing in life when the sheer magnificence of something, or someone, makes you feel a little bit giddy? Brace yourself for some weakness at the knees when it comes to this handsome holiday hideaway – Cichle Llangoed is a bit of a swooner.

The house is an elegant Grade II listed Georgian country home, about a mile and a half from the waterfront town of Beaumaris. It exudes a happy charm and charisma, and whilst it definitely qualifies as grand, it is a very much a house to be lived in and enjoyed.

Recently and skilfully renovated, it retains many of its original features, including wood panelling and floors, original fireplaces, and beautiful bay windows. It is stylishly presented, drawing on period furniture and contemporary design, and with a great selection of local paintings and wildlife prints on the walls.

Downstairs, you have a spacious kitchen diner which looks like it has just been styled for a luxury magazine shoot. There is a range cooker, AGA, loads of cupboard space, and all the pots, pans, and gadgets you could possibly need to cook up your holiday feasts.

There are two fridges, a freezer, and a separate pantry, so no shortage of space for your haul of holiday food and drink. The kitchen diner is a bright, sociable space with an informal dining table and plenty of room to sit and chat. A separate dining room, with a huge bay window looking out to the gardens and countryside beyond, offers a more formal – and rather wonderfully elegant – dining space.

The house has two lovely sitting room areas. The main sitting room is a real showstopper – a large, bright space with gorgeous plump sofas arranged around a wood burning stove, a large bay window and a beautiful grand piano. Bring someone who can play it. There is a separate snug sitting room, which is also a good size and comes with equally comfy sofas and a large smart TV.

Also downstairs you’ll find a large cloakroom with plenty of hooks and bench seating, a utility room with washing machine and tumble dyer, and a WC with washbasin and loo.

Upstairs at this beautiful manor house near Beaumaris on Anglesey, there are five bedrooms, including a large family room with a double bed, two single beds and an en-suite shower room.

There is also a super-king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a further super-king-size bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bunk room suitable for adults or children, all with fabulous views. There is a separate shower room and a family bathroom as well as an additional upstairs loo.

The house is set in acres of private land and comes with far-reaching views of Snowdonia mountains and rolling countryside. There are extensive lawned gardens and woodland to roam and an open barn outdoor games room.

Location

You’ll find this beautiful manor house near Beaumaris on Anglesey just a few miles from some of the island’s most beautiful beaches, including Penmon Point and Traeth Fedw Fawr / White Beach.

The house is just a mile or so from Beaumaris. An elegant waterfront town with pastel coloured terraces and a mighty medieval castle, Beaumaris sits on the shores of the Menai Strait looking out towards the mighty mountains of Snowdonia. The location is quite simply stunning.

You’ll find plenty of fantastic places to eat on Anglesey, from fine dining at the award-winning Bull in Beaumaris, to rustic chic at The Marram Grass near Newborough, which is run by Great British Menu chef Ellis Barrie and his brother Liam. Dylan’s, in Menai Bridge, serves up delicious seafood and pizzas with spectacular views across the Menai Strait to the mountains of Snowdonia.

If you don’t know Anglesey already, you’re in for a treat. The largest island in Wales, it is just a short drive from the Welsh mainland, but a million miles away from the daily grind. If you have visited before, you’ll know that this magical place has one of the most beautiful coastlines in the UK, including 130 miles of coastal path. There are far too many stunning beaches on the island to name, but you can read about some of our favourites here.

Adventure seekers might also like to take a high-speed boat trip down the Menai Strait with Rib Ride, or a more sedate boat trip out to Puffin Island, which is visible off the coast from Penmon Point.

There are plenty of outdoor specialists offering activities like coasteering, kayaking, horse riding and gorge scrambling. And you’re just a short drive from the high speed thrills of Zip World at Bethesda, a 40 minute drive to a world-first inland surf lagoon at Adventure Parc Snowdonia.

Beyond the outdoor space at the cottage, younger families will love the rides and adventures at Greenwood Forest Park, and the butterflies, meerkats and assorted other animal friends at Anglesey’s Pili Palas.
