We loved our stay at Clogwyn Barn. Great accommodation and beautiful surroundings. Perfect location for exploring Snowdon. The Barn is a really lovely place to stay and to relax in after a busy day out walking. We will definitely return. Thanks to John and Jane for their hospitality.

Beautiful cottage in a fantastic setting. Hosts were excellent and cottage is well equipped. Perfect for anyone wanting to visit the Snowdonia region. Would highly recommend.
Janet Hill
A truly magical setting and despite the elements of rain and wind we had a few wonderful days walking. It was so wonderful to be able to walk from the barn up to Snowdon.
The barn is super clean and welcoming and the hosts were so warm. Highly recommend and we will be back.
Thank you so much Janet

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clogwyn Barn. We were there for a fortnight and the property was perfect. We climbed Snowdon up Rhyd Ddu and back down the Ranger path and the property could not have been more ideally located. Spent a lot of time walking on the beaches with our dog (Newborough and Harlech were particularly good) and had some good meals out. The owners were really friendly and helpful. Would love to go back one day. Also like to thanks Dioni for searching this property out for us at fairly late notice.
Gemma
An absolutely fantastic location with a multitude of gorgeous walks from your front door. Stunning scenery. Cottage very comfortable and owners super friendly and helpful.

The cottage was nicely presented and it’s in a lovely area, ideal for walks around the farm and of course climbing Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon. There were some nice gifts on arrival and the kitchen had everything necessary for preparing meals.
The shower in the en suite is nice but runs out the entire tank of hot water in about 5 minutes.
One issue that spoiled our holiday a bit was that at the time of booking, we were told that the EV charging was free to use, which seemed reasonable as the blurb says that they generate their own electricity, but when we got there, the owner wanted £25 per charge. Dioni confirmed that as this was a new policy, we could still charge for free but the owner insisted that we should pay and that the charger was really for her car. We gave up arguing and charged elsewhere.
In conclusion, a very nice base to explore the area but don’t make your choice based on the EV charging.

A lovely open space with cosy bedrooms. All the amenities. Safe enclosed area for the dogs. It was a lovely stay, perfect for Snowdon! We loved the barn and the area so much we have booked to go back. Owners are super friendly too.

Clogwyn Barn has the most beautiful views out of the big glass doors and windows and the Barn is spacious and comfortable. We all had a fabulous but exhausting time mountain walking and also a walk at the end of the Llyn Peninsula. It is always exciting to see the steam train chugging above the property. Warm and friendly hosts you will be so glad you booked this property.

Stunning cottage, immaculately clean and very cosy/ comfortable. We loved our welcome pack, the cake was delicious thank you.
In an ideal location, although the weather wasn’t kind to us, we still managed to get out and about. Would definitely love to return.

A fabulous place to stay – beautiful location, beautiful barn and lovely welcome pack on arrival. The cottage was spotlessly clean, really well equipped and very easy to live in. So quiet and peaceful too. We used it as a base for walking in the area which is of course fantastic – Snowdon straight from the door, and a short drive to other brilliant walks too. We didn’t want to leave…
Ruth Austen-Vincent
The cottage is in a great spot with loads of walks from the door and not far to some great breaches. The tea shop in the village of Rhydd Dhu is well worth a visit. The cottage is really comfy with some great views out to the hills.
Sam Knight
Wonderful cottage in idyllic location. Truly amazing views of the Nantile Ridge to the front and Snowden to the back.
Great walk across fields to the local pub and direct access to the top of Snowdon either via the farm owners direct route or up Rhyd Ddu path.
Owners are friendly and welcoming and offer advice on places to visit locally.
We have stayed multiple times and will not hesitate to book this cottage again.
Louisa
This beautiful barn ticked all the boxes for our family and our dog. The scenery surrounding the farm is simply stunning. Would love to come back in the winter as well!! Fantastic walks, lovely local places to visit, and a peaceful break that was much needed for all of us. So pleased we found this place, will definitely return!!
Susie Hunter
This is a truly wonderful location, the cottage is lovely and comfortable. We sat outside with a glass of wine each day after completing some amazing walks. We found generally the quality inside the cottage very good , lovely towels and bedding .
We found some little frustrations that will not put us of coming back as we had a great time ,the fridge is very small when you are looking after 4 adults with just a tiny freezer box . We normally do one big shop and then don’t go near shops again put that would not have worked for us . The two metal single beds were really squeaky , think they just need tightening up . As I said it is just little frustrations nothing more. The pub also was not good when we visited, it could have just been a bad night ! The walk to it though is really beautiful! We do plan on using the cottage again as it is so relaxing

Fabulous weekend at Clogwyn Barn! This high spec converted barn had everything we needed. It’s in a great location and even has steam trains running past the back. Cosy, warm and well equipped with a log fire. We loved it.
Paul Mundell
Fantastic location, and a nicely converted farm building with stunning views. We really enjoyed staying at Clogwyn Barn and the fact there is a path around the back of the property to the village of Rhyd Ddu was a bonus.
Paraj Saxena
We had a great stay at Clogwyn-Barn. The cottage is in excellent condition and was very clean. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was equipped to make breakfast and dinner. Would be helpful if the kitchen came with some seasoning like salt and pepper. Although, a village shop is not too far away (5 mins drive). The location is excellent and the views of Snowdon and a lake is perfect for a sunny day.

Great time recently spent at Clogwyn-Barn. Our hosts were very friendly, the barn very comfortable / tastefully decorated and location fantastic. Have already booked our next stay there…..

Had a lovely time at clogwyn Barn. Beautiful scenery. Pub to walk to but was not doing food on Mondays & Tuesdays when we were there. 😔 hosts were very pleasant. 1 down side no champagne glasses lol it was my 60th wife 60th & daughters 31st birthday celebration, needed the glasses lol. & if this is all that’s wrong then needless to say it’s a Beautiful place to go. 😁

A beautiful barn in a stunning location. Great walks and places to visit with excellent pubs, restaurants and places to eat around the area. The welcome basket was a nice touch and the Bara Brith was very tasty!
Would highly recommend Clogwyn-Barn for anyone wanting to stay in Snowdonia.
Emma Mitchell
We booked a last minute stay at this wonderful barn and so pleased we did . It is in a beautiful location , with easy access to some terrific walks , whether they be flat or uphill! A short stroll to the local pub which serves good food and local ales . The barn itself has been beautifully renovated and is warm and cosy and with very comfortable beds and lends itself to the tranquil and idyllic setting .Jane and John are super hosts . John recommended a short drive to Black Rock sands which is a very long sandy beach perfect for walking the dog which is definitely recommended .

We stayed at Clogwyn Barn for a week as recently as October and had a wonderful time. The cottage is very well located being at the foot of Snowdon and on the Caernarfon-Beddgelert road. The cottage is warm, cosy and comfortable and is well equipped. Jane and John were very friendly and helpful hosts. It was great to be on a working farm and the kids loved drawing the curtains back in the morning to see the sheepdogs rounding up the sheep. We’re looking forwards to booking another staythere next summer.

Had a lovely stay at Clogwyn Barn where we enjoyed a week of glorious sunshine. It’s a fabulous location from which you can explore Snowdonia on foot or by car. The owners, John and Jane are friendly without being intrusive.
We would particularly recommend the Ty Mawr Tea Rooms for breakfast or lunch.

We stayed for 5 days in August and had a lovely time. The weather was mixed but doesn’t spoil the calmness and beauty of the place. You are right at the base of Snowdon between the Rydd Ddu and Snow Ranger path so easy for starting a climb up. You can see the pub from the cottage (pricey but nice). You can also fish in Llyn Cwyellyn just down the road (urchase permits in the pub). The cottage itself is nicely decorated with everything you need to self-cater. My daughter loved the rocking horse and the log fire in the evening was relaxing. We’d go again.

A beautiful barn conversion, which was comfortable, well-equipped and airy (even in 30 degree heat). We had a wonderful week as a family staying there and will definitely return. The location at the base of Snowdon was perfect for walking and we were lucky enough to have beautiful sunny weather for the entire week. Thank you!

We had a fantastic stay at Clogwyn Barn. This is one of the best holiday cottages we have ever been to. It has been finished to an extremely high standard, is stylish yet homely and comfortable. The location is superb and the owners were welcoming and knowledgeable. It was a wrench to leave and we’ll definitely be back! Our dog loved his stay too.

We stayed for a week in early November and can’t rate Clogwyn Barn highly enough. The accommodation is of a high standard and very comfortable, the open-plan living area is great for cooking, socialising and relaxing, with a great view out over the fields towards Rhyd-ddu and the surrounding mountains. We loved the place for its fresh air, scenery, peace and quiet. Jane and John were friendly hosts and we enjoyed exploring their farmland as well as climbing Snowdon from the door on one day. There is plenty to do in the area, a week simply isn’t long enough! If you stay, make sure you drive to LLanberis via Beddgelert for an amazing drive through Snowdonia. We look forward to returning one day.

Wow, an amazing find! The cottage was to a very high standard and made for a highly enjoyable and relaxing holiday. John, Jane and family all made us very welcome and our Norfolk Terrier even attended the yearly dog show in Beddgelert, which was in the most fantastic setting.
Walks are of course a plenty but one of our favourite evenings was on top of Gin Rock (nicknamed by John), which has amazing views over Llyn Cwellyn reservoir. It’s around a 10 minute walk from the cottage; alas we did not have any gin but champagne was a suitable substitute.
To top the location off the cottage is within walking distance of a pub and tea room, however it’s not just any pub or tea room they are probably some of the best in North Wales. The pub also boats an array of ales, larger and some reasonably priced wines. The tea room; well what can you say, it’s just simply the best, our two sons aged 10 and 8 were in their element. The food is all top quality and reasonably priced. You must not leave without trying both of these places!
From the middle of our holiday all our boys kept saying is “are we coming back next year?”. A very memorable holiday, whilst we have been to many places, this has to be one of our best ever family holidays.

We were two couples in our early 70s. The cottage was top notch. It is light and airy and well equipped. Wonderful views. John and Jane are delightful hosts – around if you need them, happy to have a chat, but not ‘in your face’. As a base, the location was just perfect. We did some of the Little Trains of Wales; walked on the Llynn peninsula; saw Clough-Ellis’ garden at Plas Brondanw (only 8 miles and really beautiful); walked the excellent path from Rhyd Ddu to Bedgellert I did a early morning trip to bird watch at South Stack on Anglesey (only and hour away) and more. Tip – if you want to go up Snowdon on the railway, book now, it gets very booked up. Very happy holiday, made by the location and the hosts.

June 16th-23rd.
We had a fantastic stay at Clogwyn Barn. The barn itself is lovely: light and modern, and much bigger than it looked in the photos. But it is the location that really steals the show. The view from the cottage across nearby Nantlle Ridge and Elephant Mountain is beautiful, and the patio provides the perfect spot to sit and take it all in. Directly behind the cottage is Snowdon itself, so it’s the perfect location for walkers wanting to climb. We found that we were close enough to Rhyd-ddu, Beddgellert and Caernarfon for day trips and meals out, but also went further afield to Anglesey and Llandudno. There is loads to do around here, and we would particularly recommend the restaurant Hebog in Beddgellert. We would highly recommend staying at Clogwyn Barn. Our only regret (if you can call it that) is that the weather was so hot all week that we didn’t get a chance to use the log burner! Thanks John and Jane for a fantastic break.

Stayed at the Barn for four wonderful nights . Excellent location especially if you are clinbing Snowdon from Rhyd Ddu, which we think is the best route up. Other lovely walks include the Bwlch Cwm Llyn, starting right outside the accomodation. The Barn is a superb place to stay definately 5*. We hope to return one day.

Fantastic barn conversion. It had everything you require in one of the best locations in Norh Wales. Jane and John made us all welcome and John a suggested we had a Gin and Tonic on the rocks behind the barn and watch the Sun set. Brilliant!!!
Hope to return sometime.

A perfect location in a perfect barn! The barn had all the things you would need for you holiday, it’s finished to an extremely high standard, one of the best we have stayed in.
A great welcome by Jane, John and the rest of the family.
Definitely see the quarry, visit the local pub and tea room for Dutch pancakes. Great position to see the sights of north wales.
I will definitely stay again 🙂

Great base for exploring Snowdonia (we visited Rhyd Ddu (Cwellyn Arms), Beddgelert (for shopping, eating & mountain biking), Betws-y-Coed (Fairy Glen & Swallow Falls), Snowdon (hike), Bala (white water rafting) and Llanberis (Slate Museum & castle). Lovely, well appointed barn and very friendly owners, would definitely recommended a stay at Clogwyn Barn.

Fantastic week, right underneath Snowden. We really had a relaxing time in beautiful surroundings. The barn is truly luxurious, decorated to the highest standard, and supplying everything we needed. We were made most welcome by the owners Jane and John, and I mustn’t forget Max and Digby.
We will certainly be returning in the near future.

Just the best place to stay, relax and enjoy yourselves. You want for nothing here, its all to a very high standard. We travelled there in 2 classic cars and spend three days touring around, the place is a wonderful haven on tranquillity and you feel straight at home. We cant recommend it enough. Our friends had never done a short stay like this before and are now totally hooked. Would be only too happy to return (sooner the better too)

This is a magical place, not only is the barn luxurious but the surrounding area is breath taking. We spent a wonderful long weekend with our 9 year old son, taking advice from Jane the owner on places to go and eat and it was all fantastic. What a magical spot! Clogwyn Barn completely delightful, spectacular views, with easy access straight to the summit of Mount Snowdon, hugely convenient location for so many reasons. Delightful and considerate hosts, and the Barn itself is very well appointed and comfortable. Thank you for a splendid week for our family and city dog, who is barking to return asap.

My husband and I spent a very relaxing ten days in this lovely barn conversion in late September/early October. It is comfortable, spacious, light, clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed to cook and live happily- the only shortcoming is the spotty Wifi. We loved the views, hiking from the front door, and the many nearby trails. The narrow roads took us some getting used to, I must admit(we’re from the US). But they seem to be everywhere in Britain! Jane and John were helpful and friendly and provided loads of information about the area and what to see and do. I would definitely recommend Clogwyn Barn.

Just back from our second visit to Clogwyn Y Gwin this year. Clogwyn Barn is starting to feel like a second home. And leaving each time is a real wrench. John & Jane are fantastic hosts and not forgetting their fabulous children and of course Moss, Max and Brigadier the dogs. We felt so comfortable and relaxed that we could have stayed in the barn all week but we really enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas including climbing Snowdon and walking from Rhyd Ddu to Bethgelert (longer than you think). We will definitely be back as we know that we are always assured of a very warm Welsh welcome.

A beautiful cottage with fantastic attention to detail, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Just as (or more) importantly, the setting is truly amazing.
We had four seasons in one week in August – wind, rain, brilliant sunshine – every time we looked out of the windows the scenery was completely different. Would recommend this cottage at any time of year because it is cosy, warm and modern inside. Very helpful owners with charming children but not at all intrusive and we enjoyed watching the comings and goings of the farm that surrounds you (from the very comfortable chairs on the patio!)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clogwyn Barn, it was tastefully decorated and had pretty much everything you needed. Jane & John the owners are friendly, helpful & on call should any situation arise.
You can climb Snowdon from your doorstep, we seemed to find our own rather precarious route ( not recommended!!)
Just be aware there isn’t really a mobile phone signal in Rhydd Ddu, but hopefully that won’t matter.
Found really lovely places to eat and the local pub serves good food & beer, although not far away it’s not the safest walk to get to it so better to drive.

Had a fabulous week relaxing at Clogwyn Barn. Couldn’t wish for a more perfect setting, whether we were relaxing and taking in the views or walking from the door up Snowdon and the surrounding area, it was great.
Jane and John made us feel most welcome and we enjoyed seeing the sheep come down from the mountain ready for shearing.
Didn’t want to go home…we are looking forward to returning sometime soon. Thanks

What a delightful place, it gave us a really enjoyable rest. Coming from our home in Pembrokeshire I expected it to rain – but we had a fine week for such an early time in the year.
The barn was a joy to stay in and we may well be back. Loved the train tooting past each day, and gazing out at the mountains – they are bigger than our Pembrokeshire ones (mountain envy).
It was loverly to be able to walk out, up the hill, over the railway and onto the mountain side – the rocks sing so.
We would have enjoyed a hi-fi with an iPod dock in the barn, but as I said, the rocks sing so well, we easily lived without regular music for the duration of our stay.
Many happy memories, and a looking forward to returning and hearing the rocks all a singing once again.

A super holiday home and enjoyed by all (2 adults, 2 children under 5). Very comfortable and cosy (lovely bedding), good kitchen facilities and plenty of space to enjoy the open plan kitchen/living with wood burner. Great walks from the doorstep and the cycle track from Rhyd ddu to Beddgelert is very impressive and well worth the effort. Lunches in the Hebog bistro very tasty! Clogwyn barn is in a fantastic location!

We are just home from a lovely break in this Barn Conversion. It really lived up,to,it’s title of luxury barn conversion, it was beautifully decorated and very luxurious. Everything you could need for a nice break. The location and scenery to wake up to were amazing. The local walking area was fantastic. The owners of this barn conversion were very welcoming and helpful. A great point for us that it was genuinely dog friendly, as was the local pub, who made sure our boy had a bowl of water whilst we enjoyed our meal with him laying beside us. We highly recommend this accommodation and will be returning for another visit.
