We had a lovely week in Derwin Fawr. A real home from home, but with a better view! We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. Cottage is even more spacious than we expected. Great location in terms of lots of attractions and interesting places and nice beaches within 30 to 45 minutes’ drive and pub 5 minutes away. We had a packed week and a very happy holiday!

Clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage in a great location for getting around the area. Not a long way from the main road but still incredibly peaceful and restful. Hopefully we’ll get back in the the next 12 months. Booking process through Dioni was also quick and easy.

Derwin-Fawr is a very clean, cosy and well equipped cottage. A welcome pack of Welsh cakes, tea, milk, sugar and wine were waiting for our arrival which was a very nice gesture from the hosts Owena and Arwel. The location is perfect to explore the peninsula and we truly had the best time. Thanks for a great stay.

We did enjoy our stay at the lovely cottage Derwin Fawr. The cottage was very clean, cosy and with beautiful views. We did appreciate the welcome surprise and the peace while reading a book in the garden. The cottage is well situated to visit Criccieth castle, Porthmadog, Caernarfon castle, cosy Beddgelert… and to do some wonderful walks in the snowdonia national park. We were sad to leave after a week that flew by. It was worth the long ride from Belgium!

A lovely cosy cottage, heaven to come home to after a wet and windy day on the hills or on the beach. Being so close to everything that North Wales has to offer yet not caught in the tourist madness is wonderful.

We had a gorgeous week at Derwin-Fawr. The house is perfect for a family of 4 or 5 and has everything you might need. It’s perfectly located to explore so many different areas, including the Llyn Peninsula, Anglesey, Snowdonia, there is a cycle path really close by, and we enjoyed a lovely walk from the doorstep. We had to arrange for something to be sent from home, and the owners were so obliging, and brought it round as soon as it arrived in the post. We would highly recommend this property.

We had a lovely time at Derwin Fawr, being where it is we found it to be perfectly situated for exploring the local area, your not far from some fantastic beaches in one direction and the mountains in the other. Would definitely recommend eating at the Seaview bistro in Borth y Gest and a walk round to the beach along the coast path. Also fish and chips at Dinas Dinlle whilst watching the sunset is perfect. Harlech is beautiful in itself teamed with an awesome beach its a must. Swimming in the waterfalls on the Watkin path on a hot day is a must but does get bit busy. The cottage it’s self was perfect very well equipped and homely and the welcome gifts were a really nice touch especially the welsh cakes. All in all a really good week and would definitely recommend a stay.

The cottage was very well equipped, fully fitted kitchen, ironing board, hairdryer, great quality of board games for the kids, books and dvd-s for rainy days. Sparkling clean. Great location, close to the beach and to the lovely towns. We will return. If you are thinking of booking this please,do not hesitate. A real gem to find.

We had a lovely stay with our two kids 6 & 3 in this cosy cottage in a great location. The Welsh cakes and bottle of wine from Owena were most welcome after a long drive. All the places we visited, Caernafon castle, Beddgelert, Blanau railway,Portmerion and the highlight the Whispering Sands at Porthor were all within a 40 minute drive. However if you are planning the train up Snowdon make sure you book in advance, 10 day waiting list when we arrived but does give us an excuse to come back.

We stayed for the October half term week, with two young children 5 & 3) and the cottage was ideal. Spacious rooms (the 2nd room would have been comfortable with 3 kids), very clean and really welcoming after each long day visiting the many places to see and things to do in the area. Ideally situated – both easy to get to and remote enough to feel away from busy normal life!

The weather was changeable, but the accommodation was lovely. Mrs. Roberts left some tasty cakes for us, and came over and put the central heating on when the weather got rather chilly. We had a great week and would have no hesitation in staying at Derwin-Fawr again. Great value and many thanks.

Stayed at the property for 4 nights from 28th August 2015. Found the cottage to be in excellent condition and vey well presented and equipped. The property is in an excellent location allowing easy access to many attractions including Caernarvon, Criccieth, Portmerion and the villages of Snowdonia, so that 4 days was not really long enough. Would recommend The Goat pub just down the road towards Porthmadog for quality evening meals at reasonable prices.

We booked the cottage as a thank you gift for my sister and father for all their help with our hand fasting and for travelling all the way from South Africa to be with us. Apart from that, my sister has been a fan of Penrhyn Castle for over 30 years and never been able to visit, so we felt it was the perfect opportunity for her. They LOVED staying at your cottage and have suggested we visit, which we will do some time in the future. Thank you for making them welcome, they have had a great holiday.
