We have had a lovely week at Felin Pennarth, despite the very wet weather. We managed a couple of hours sitting on the decking in the sunshineā¦..with a lovely peaceful view.
The cottage itself was very clean, comfortable and warm (without any heating).
Gareth was the perfect host and we enjoyed the company of his gorgeous cattle too. Each morning they were there when we opened the curtains but also very well trained to stay quiet while we had a little lie in!
Thank you to all concerned.
Andy Connop
Had a great week at Felin Pennarth, we were very lucky to have a great week with the weather, bright sunshine every day but one which makes all the difference.
Cottage is really good and perfect for two, the outside balcony when the weather is good is a real bonus and catches the sun all day, the layout of the cottage we liked and is of a high standard and everything you need is provided.
Cottage is on a working farm which we found to be peaceful and quiet, with countryside all around and a 10 minute walk to the sea, it is also well positioned for trips out to Snowdonia, Anglesey and the Llyn peninsula.
Gareth the owner, who by the way is a lovely chap, was a mind of information regards the farm, local history and also of places of interest, took his advice on a number of occasions of places to see and was never disappointed.
We will definitely return in the near future.
Maggie Freeman
Another lovely week at this cottage. Tide was in at Dinas Dinlle so parked near the airport and walked north over the dunes to the fort. Got lost via satnav on tiny roads on Anglesey. Great to catch up with Gareth again.
Cottage great and location to nearby beach ideal.
Will be back.

We had a great stay in this lovely cottage, it was very clean and in good decoration. The host Gareth was really friendly and greeted us on our arrival to explain everything about the area and places to visit, dog walks etcā¦. we chatted with him most days around the farm. The area was lovely and peaceful with lovely views from the balcony deck over fields hills and even a sea view to the side of the cottage, when watching tv we often found ourselves looking out of the side window at the wonderful sunset (when it was out). Would love to visit again when we are in the area.
Andy
An absolutely amazing place to stay. Peaceful, great views, highly recommended. Accommodation faultless and friendly hospitality by the host Gareth

Had a wonderful holiday at Felin-Penarth. The accommodation is excellent and has an amazing scenic balcony overlooking the beautiful countryside. After seeing the BBC program on the pilgrims walk on the coastal path with Michaela Strachen and company we visited the local church in Clynnog-Fawr ( 15 mins walk away). Later on booked the boat to Bardsley Island and was lucky enough to be able to cross the two mile stretch of water to visit the island seeing puffins, razorbills, choughs and seals around the harbour.

Stayed before 3 times so chose again for our last minute short break, perfectš.
Easy to book, cottage clean and tidy as usual.
Great position for either a short walk to local Aberdesach Beach or short drive to many more lovely places. Thank you Gareth for this little gem.
Natalie Bailey
We booked a last minute stay over New Year for 3 nights. We arrived in pitch black high winds but the sat nav and directions lead us to the front door perfectly. Once inside we were impressed with how lovely, clean and warm the cottage was.
Couldnāt fault the stay at all, even being on a working farm there was no noise at all. Would recommend this cottage and will definitely be back!
Julia Trueman
As my 4th visit to this wonderful place it is difficult to add anything! I love it as it also has personal memories for me. It is always comfortable, clean and the location is perfect. Thank you Gareth, for being a lovely host.
Gary
2nd visit within 2 months for another enjoyable & restful break at Felin-Pennarth. Host Gareth made sure we were settled in and gave us a few tips on local sights to visit.
Found plenty of lovely coastal walks and good dog friendly cafes and beaches to visit within a 30 minute drive also a local beach within 6 minute walk.
Cottage clean and tidy with a nice welcome pack. Would highly recommend for a short break in beautiful quiet surroundings.
Thank you again Gareth & Dioni Holidays

We were lucky enoug to stay here the week beginning 2nd September 2023 – the late heatwave.
The cottage was very clean and comfortable, and the upside down feature meant that the bedroom stayed cool.
Gareth, the host, was very welcoming and suggested places to visit.
Due to the hot weather, we spent most of the week on the beach at Dinas Dinlle – which had a welcoming breeze. We also visited the gardens and cafe at Park Gwynllifon, which are spectacular, and provided welcome shade.
We will leave the hills for another time.
We will definitely be back.
Greg Rees
Superb specification as ever on the property and owner Gareth a lovely, helpful guy with lots of advice and funny tales to share. A great, accessible location to visit Caernarfon, the Llyn, Snowdonia, plus the rest of the North Wales coast and awesome Anglesey. North Wales just keeps giving…..
Richard Unwin
Very comfortable cottage in a peaceful spot close to the beach. Ideal location for access to the mountains, Peninsula and Anglesey.
Kim Carroll
We had a fantastic long weekend. Gareth took time to meet us on arrival despite it being 9pm. A warm and friendly welcome. He caught up most days to see how we were getting along and provide information on the local area: places to visit, walks, best beaches, etc. The bijou cottage is nicely decorated with calm and relaxing colours. Well equipped and had a great balcony, for sitting out when the weather is kind. West facing windows provide for a smashing view of the sunset.
Itās a working farm and we loved this. The area is good for beaches, couple good walks from the doorstep. Easy reach of Caernarfon. If youāre passing, visit Bodnant Gardens. 82 acres of sheer delight. Recommended base and location.
Gary
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location, easy 6 minute walk to local beach. Host Gareth made us feel most welcome and gave us lots of information about things to do within the area.
The well equiped cottage was very comfortable, clean and tidy. The welcome pack complete with milk and tea was great for settling in.
Our small dog was in heaven and loved the walks around the farm each morning.
Would highly recommend for a short break in beautiful quiet surroundings. Thank you Gareth and Dioni Holidays.
Janet
The cottage was lovely. Well decorated, modern and in a great position to get to most places in the area. The host was very helpful and friendly! We would not hesitate to recommend to friends.
Carey
We stayed here week beginning 22/7 for a week and had an amazing holiday. The cottage is beautiful and very comfortable. We were very fortunate to have a lovely week weather wise so we were able to make the most of the balcony with amazing views across to the hills in one direction and then to the sea. Watching the sunsets was great. I loved the little touch of providing blankets for when the sun had gone down.
We stayed in most evenings to cook and the kitchen is fab, very modern with everything that we needed, all new appliances and a great large fridge.
The cottage is in a really central area to be able to make the most of all that is on offer in this beautiful part of the country. We visited Caernarfon Castle, Anglesey, Beautiful beaches near Porthmadog and Abersoch on the Llyn Peninsula and had a great steam train journey on the Welsh Highland Railway from Porthmadog. Portmeirion is also worth a visit.
We also did a tour at a local vineyard Pant Du which was great and enjoyed a lovely meal out at The Gunroom Restaurant one evening.
Gareth, the owner of the cottage was wonderful, really friendly and extremely helpful.
We would definitely stay in this cottage again and would highly recommend.
Thanks for a great holiday. š

We had a wonderful stay at Hen Felin. The property was just as it was advertised with amazing views of the mountains and of the sea. Considering it is on a working farm, you wouldnāt think it as we did not hear any noise from the cows unless they were inside the barns! We met the farmer who gave us some great tips of places to visit during our stay and we visited all that we wanted to see when we were there. Will definitely be looking to stay again when we next go to Wales for our holiday

We had an amazing time staying here. The property was 1st class and could not have asked for better. Gareth was amazing at letting us know what was around the area and where to go for lovely walks. We had such a warm welcome and a relaxing few days. Diolch Gareth bendigedig š

Felin-Pennarth is a great location to explore the Lleyn Peninsula as well as further into Snowdonia. Also the immediate rural landscape and shoreline are easy to access.
We enjoyed sitting up on the terrace in the May evenings with a bottle of wine marvelling at the beautiful countryside views and glimpse of the sea.
The property was clean, very comfortable and relaxing.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay, the host was extremely friendly and helpful with lots of suggestions for what to do during our stay. We thoroughly recommend walking up the hill that you can see from the balcony at sunset, itās not too far and is beautiful. We also enjoyed wrapping up warm and sitting on the balcony and taking in the views. The walk at Dinas Dinlle Beach was lovely with great views. The only thing we would suggest is a dvd player or netflix subscription so you can relax and watch films on the tv as we were unable to cast to it.
Thank you for a lovely break š

brilliant cottage in great surroundings and gareth, the host is brilliant.
Chris Mulraney
Superb cottage in a good location. Gareth the owner provided a warm and friendly welcome and pointed out several local places of interest and also took the time to show us around his farm which we found very interesting.
Thanks to Gareth for a great holiday and look forward to a return visit.
Richard
Well equipped and comfy cottage in an ideal position for exploring Llyn and Anglesey and with a quiet beach just a 10 minute stroll down the lane. We had a lovely week here – only disappointment was that the Autumnal weather in late-September prevented us making any great use of the balcony. Gareth was very friendly and made us feel welcome staying on his farm. Would definitely stay here again if revisiting the area.
Taylor Peter
Excellent location, accommodation and facilities.
A really relaxing break and an informative host in Gareth.
Looking to stay again
Tracey
We had a wonderful stay here. A great location to explore the area. Made even better by Gareth the owner who gave us some great suggestions. Never felt so relaxed in such a short space of time. Thank you Gareth. We wouldnāt hesitate to recommend or return again one day The balcony made ot even more specialš

The past five days at Felin-Pennarth have been absolutely splendid, relaxing doesnāt even start to cover it! This property is excellent for a couple, with all the luxury you want and mountain views (plus the sea!) thrown in too.
The balcony was the icing on the cake, giving us the perfect way to spend many lovely evening chatting and listening to the buzzards and owls at dusk.
But it wasnāt all about the propertyā¦.Gareth (the owner) who lives on the farm where itās situated, is the most friendly, helpful chap youāll ever meet. Heās a wealth of local knowledge, recommends the best local attractions and is generally all round helpful.
We would not hesitate to go back, and will probably use his place as our base next time weāre in Wales. Itās perfectly situated if you like a quiet beach, and plenty to explore either on foot or in the car for a short drive.
10 out of 10 doesnāt do it justice.
Lesley Strick
We had a wonderful stay at Felin – Pennarth. Gareth the owner was very friendly and helpful giving us lots of ideas of places to explore on our stay. The property itself was very well equipped and the scenery was enjoyed from the lovely terraced deck. The area itās situated in is perfect for exploring the Lynn peninsula and Snowdonia. We will definitely be back for a further stay. Highly recommend.
Amanda Willington
The accommodation was as set out on the website. It was clean, tidy and comfortable. We were able to watch some beautiful sunsets on the balcony. The owner was very helpful and friendly and was able to identify a number of lovely walks in the local area. We will definitely return.
Carrie Bowen
Amazing mini break that was given to me with the generosity of Gareth the owner as he wanted to reward NHS staff for working through the pandemic. Recieved a lovely welcome and a tour of the farm and met the cows!!!! Gareth provided us with local knowledge of places to walk/visit etc and also places to eat. The cottage was to a very high standard and very welcoming. It was the perfect place for a quiet getaway with stunning views.
Exactly what we needed and we look forward to returning back here.
Julia Trueman
My 3rd visit to this wonderful place! Peace and quiet yet places to go if wanted. Iāll be back.
Al and Ish
We absolutely loved our stay at Pennarth. The cottage is very homely & comfortable and the views are beautiful. The hill behind the cottage is great for a short walk and provides an amazing view of both the ocean & nearby mountains.
Beddgelert & Snowdon are both a short drive away and thereās beaches within walking and very short driving distance.
Thereās plenty of local places to go for food/drink within a short driving distance, every place we visited was very friendly and made us feel welcomeā¦ thereās even a local vineyard with some of the best wine weāve ever had.
Gareth was so friendly, we really enjoyed the tour of the farm he gave us and hearing about his family history at the place. His friendly demeanour made the stay even better.
We will definitely be staying here again.
Emily And Evan
We have the most lovely stay at Felin-Pennarth! The cottage itself was immaculate and a perfect size for the two of us and our dog Donnie. The cottage is on a farm owned by Gareth who made us feel so welcome and even gave us a bag of apples from his own apple tree. The location was so quiet and no more than 30 minutes drive from Caernarfon. It is also located not far from Snowdon which we also climbed during our stay. Overall a lovely holiday and would encourage anyone to stay there.
Ann
We had a fantastic week staying at this lovely cottage, the area is so peaceful! Gareth our host was brilliant, friendly, his knowledge of the area was great, advising us of places of interest, restaurants, beaches. The cottage is absolutely lovely! We will definitely be revisiting in the future.
Stefan Ziemba
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hen Felin. The cottage was well equipped & very tidy & comfortable. Gareth, our host, was very helpful & ensured our stay was trouble free. The balcony was a bonus especially as we were lucky to have glorious weather. The only real drawback which was a feature of the area rather than the cottage, was the lack of decent pubs/restaurants in the area. We tried to book at the Goat Inn but found it fully booked all week in the evenings! It is very likely that we will visiting Hen Felin again in the future. A couple of suggestions would be a simple soap dish for the sink in the shower room to prevent the soap from continually sliding into the basin & a wooden table for the balcony to facilitate eating out on the many glorious evenings! All in all we were very pleased with with our choice of accommodation.
Steve and Deb Davies
A fabulous fortnight enjoyed at this beautiful property. Comfortable, well equipped and in the most peaceful of settings.
Gareth was the most warm and welcoming of hosts with great tips for places to visit!
We loved the proximity of the property within the Llyn Peninsular – to the northern end so places like Caernarfon, Porthmadog and Bangor are within easy reach but also just half an hour\\\’s drive to the southern tip with its beautiful beaches ( Abersoch, Aberdaron etc).
Would thoroughly recommend this lovely property in every respect!
Julia and John
Another wonderful stay at Hen Felin. We were blessed with amazing weather (actually almost too hot!) and we were therefore able to get the most from the glorious balcony. Watching the sun go down over the sea became a feature of every evening. It is a beautiful quiet spot and Gareth is a great host. We certainly hope to visit again.
Kathryn Leigh
We had a lovely week at Hen Felin. The accommodation was beautifully presented; clean and well furnished. The host, Gareth is also the farmer on this cattle farm. He was friendly and helpful and we would have no hesitation in recommending the property to anyone considering it. The balcony which gets sun all day round was so nice to use and the sunsets were amazing.
Don Murphy
The cottage was more than we expected. Two sets of steps (one inside one outside) was a novelty at first but became a little tiring.
The sink in the bathroom was little more than a saucer and the shower would benefit from a shelf to hold shampoo etc.
The bathroom could also do with a chair or surface to put your items on.
The path to the farm was a bit bumpy but after all it is a farm. The walk to the sea was more of a car journey.
BUT… Gareth was friendly and helpful. He arranged for the Sun to shine for most of the week. The sitting out area was brilliant and all in all the place was well done and very quiet and relaxing. Due to heavy rain we left on the Friday and didn’t say goodbye as he was not around.
Thank you Gareth. Thank you Dioni.
Helen Vickers
Great location to visit North Wales a Llyn. With walking distance to small pebbled beach. Lots of short walks from the door. Especially enjoyed the balcony overlooking a beautiful view of the pasture and distance hills.
The cottage had everything we needed and was bright and spacious. Friendly host who was great at offering suggestions for days out or places to visit. Enjoyed talking to Gareth about the area. Would love to return.
Robert Morgan
We really enjoyed our week at Felin Pennarth. It was clean and comfortable with wonderful views. Gareth was welcoming, helpful and informative.
I would highly recommend this accommodation and look forward or another visit.

Had a wonderful week away at the Cottage. Gareth gave us some ideal places to visit and also suggested The Goat Inn for a lovely meal, we went twice and could not fault it. Would definitely stay at the cottage again.

It is a pleasure to write this review following our enjoyable stay at Hen Felin, Pennarth Farm. On arrival, the farm owner,Gareth Evans was waiting to greet us. A very pleasant touch and many different insights were our reward from chatting with him. This was to become a regular thing, especially when we wanted to know facts about places we intended to visit. The cottage ( or more accurately – the converted ‘Old Mill ‘ ) was very warm, comfortable and exceptionally clean. The location was perfect as it was extremely quiet and set in an ideal spot to enjoy countryside views, especially with the added bonus of a large balcony complete with table and chairs. The farm is well placed for touring Snowdonia, the Llyn Peninsula and Anglesey. The mountains and beaches were an absolute pleasure to see and photograph. It was sad to leave such a lovely place and we will certainly visit again.

September 2020 – A perfect romantic hideaway, with stunning views of Hills and coast. So peacefully and quiet, even on a working farm.
The Property was Clean throughout, very well furnished with no issues whatsoever throughout our week long stay. We loved the upside down nature of the property and made full use of the Balcony from the Living room in the morning’s and evenings at Sunrise and Star Gazing in the evening. Some stunning beaches locally along with the Castle Town of Caernarfon, close to the Snowdonia Peaks.
The Owner who is the Farmer was friendly, welcoming, but unobtrusive throughout our stay, but equally happy to stop for a quick chat when passing and to offer places to visit or eat locally. Indeed on one such tip, I proposed to my Partner on the beautiful Nefyn Beach (She said Yes).
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily book again finding it great value for the money and location was ideal to explore.
Mate and Ximena
After a long year of restrictions it was a satisfaction to find a jewel like this. Well based to explore the surroundings and amazing views that shine through the windows every morning. For nature lovers like us we had a real glimpse of farming life and this was a perfect week to relax, connect with the outdoors and forget the fuss. The smallest mountain in Wales is just uphill from this place. A 20 minute walk will reward you with stunning views and a sense of achievement. Good training ground ahead of a trip to Snowdon.
Gareth was a great host. A man who knows his land like the fingers of his hand. Highly recommended. We will definitely return in the future. Thank you!

We have just enjoyed a blissful 4 days at the cottage . It is truly beautiful , spacious, immaculately clean and very well equipped with everything we needed for a wonderful relaxing break . We were lucky enough to enjoy some gorgeous weather so the fabulous balcony was the perfect spot to chill out on and take in the stunning views.

We all very much enjoyed our week at this lovely cottage. Gareth is the perfect host, very welcoming and always with a tip for a place to visit. The cottage is well equipped, is in a perfect position to explore north west Wales, and the south facing deck is a lovely place to sit and relax after a long walk on the beach. Thank you very much, we will return.

a week break and a first visit to this part of north Wales. Fabulous weather meant early evenings on the balcony soaking up the peace and spotting the buzzards flying between the trees of this lovely farm. Gareth proved most welcoming, and the beautiful accommodation meant the various walks on the peninsula, trips to NT gardens and a walk on Anglesey (at South Stacks) made this a great (and very safe) break away from Covid 19 !!

A 6 night stay in this beautiful, well-furnished, barn conversion, could not be spoiled by the weather, although we did not have the chance to use the balcony!!
Mine host, Gareth, was a lovely man who was a font of knowledge of all things in the area, and beyond.
The location is ideal and the cottage wants for nothing. Gareth keeps a well maintained farm, which does not in any way detract from the feel of the holiday – in fact it adds to it.
I can say that this cottage has been earmarked for a return visit. That should be enough of a recommendation.

This really is a gem of a cottage. Itās central location makes it an ideal base to visit the Llyn Peninsula, Anglesey and Snowdonia. We were thrilled to have discovered this delightful farm cottage, and will definitely be staying here again as often as we can. The location is ideal, either as a base from which to explore and visit, or simply to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. With easy access to so many different places of interest, yet completely peaceful and protected from the hustle and bustle of the busier towns, this has to be one of the best situated properties weāve stayed at. The facilities, furnishing and decor are ideal and so comfortable, all presented and maintained to a very high standard. Garethās warm, friendly welcome and helpful guidance were most welcome. We canāt wait to be back!

A true welcome from Gareth who runs an excellent farm, is a charming man and has provided a first class holiday home. We had a fantastic time at the cottage! It is the first place we have stayed where we can say with confidence that we will definitely be coming back next time we’re on holiday in Snowdonia. Gareth’s farm is a great place to be – so peaceful and quiet, with both sea and mountain views. The cottage is fully equipped with everything that is needed, it is modern but still retained its original features – a truly lovely and relaxing place to be. Gareth was a fantastic host, very kind, helpful and friendly. We even got a little tour of the farm which we greatly enjoyed. The location is great for access to beaches both on the Llyn peninsula and over in Anglesey, the Snowdon mountain range isn’t all that far either and there is a big Tesco a 12 min drive from the house which was very helpful. We loved staying here! Thanks Gareth.

Booked this last minute to take advantage of the great February weather. We were not disappointed by the weather or by the cottage. Extremely clean and well kept. Lovely views from the balcony too. Gareth the owner very friendly and helpful. This was our second booking with Dioni and very impressed with their service and quality of accommodation.
Just one tiny negative, the mattress was a wee bit lumpy, but a good mattress topper would probably solve that.
A lovely peaceful cottage and would not hesitate to return .

We have just returned from staying in Hen Felin which we booked as a last minute break over New Year, we chose it after reading the many positive reviews on Dioni website and we were not disappointed. The cottage is stunning, absolutely one of the best cottages we have stayed in, the workmanship and attention to detail was excellent and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. It was lovely to meet Gareth the owner who was on hand should we have needed anything.
The welcome box of goodies was delicious and much appreciated. Fingers crossed it is not too long until we can return.

Brilliant service from all the ladies at Dioni. this was a last minute booking and all the staff were very helpful and understanding. Felin-Pannarth is a quiet pretty barn conversion on a working farm from which we work the dogs just up the path and around all the stunning countryside. Ideal for the beach, mountains and Snowdonia the location was brilliant. The barn conversion was lovely and warm, facilities were good. After a days walking there was nothing better than lounging on the sofa’s looking out onto the stunning views. THANKYOU x

We spent a wonderful long weekend in Felin-Pennarth. The cottage was of a very high standard. Very cosy and very romantic as the views were to die for. Gareth was a very friendly and knowledable guy who gave us tips on places to go. Would definately return. We are sure your new project of a games room will be of a high standard also.

A fantastic week in a superb cottage. Furnished to a really high standard. It was lovely to sit on the balcony watching the birds, farm animals & sea. A lovely dog friendly beach is a 5 minute walk away & we would often have the beach to ourselves. Gareth was there to greet us & is very friendly & knowledgeable (even gave us some apples from his trees).Highly recommended for a relaxing break.

We enjoyed a relaxing week at Pennarth surrounded by beautiful views of the sea, fields, trees and mountains. The weather was lovely so we spent evenings on the balcony watching swallows and swifts. Highly recommended!

We have just spent our first visit at Pennarth but it will not be our last. The cottage, which sits on a working farm is of a very high standard with all the mod cons you could possibly need and the interior decor is of the same standard. The views from the balcony were to die for, so peaceful and quiet (can’t wait to go back). The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the coast line with its many places of interest and the surrounding country side. Gareth who owns the cottage was very welcoming and friendly, anything you need to know about Wales Gareth is your man.

A lovely romantic weekend away for my boyfriends birthday. The converted barn was ample space for 2 people. Enjoyed a night cap on a lovely balcony overlooking fields of cows to one side and sea view to the other. Gareth, the owner of the farm is very hospitable with excellent knowledge of the area and places of interest to visit. We will definetley go back for another romantic weekend away !
