This lovingly renovated seven bedroom farmhouse with amazing sea views is a property to enjoy with family and friends in North Wales. An idyllic rural retreat on the coast, Fferm-Frongaled combines Hen-Dy-Frongaled and Ty-Newydd-Frongaled into a fabulous seven bedroom with sea views. The cottage is located between Harlech and Barmouth. Half of the property is located within the original part of the 17th century farmhouse with four bedrooms, sleeping eight. The other half of the property is a lovingly restored traditional Welsh farmhouse with three bedrooms sleeping 6.

Hen-Dy-Frongaled has four bedrooms, two reception rooms and a beautiful kitchen diner. The sitting room is a wonderfully cosy space. The larger living space is stunning featuring an impressive inglenook fireplace. With lamp lighting and a crackling log fire, this is a fabulous room to spend an evening relaxing and socialising.

The large kitchen diner to the rear of Hen-Dy-Frongaled is a charming room - a perfect social space that mixes the traditional features of the house with modern touches in the fixtures and fittings.

Stairs from the hallway of this four bedroom farmhouse with sea views lead up to the property's four bedrooms, a family bathroom and an en-suite. The four bedrooms consist of one Kingsize, a double, 2 singles and a set of bunk beds which are all stylishly decorated, soft bedding and patterned throws. The rooms feature the original farmhouse doors which provide a rustic feel, and the exposed timber of the ceilings as well as some oak panelled walls really show off the history of the building.

Ty-Newydd-Frongaled is a gorgeous three bedroom farmhouse. From the chequered hallway there is a kitchen diner to one side and a lounge to the other. The kitchen diner is a wonderful room with slate tiles on the floor and exposed timber ceiling beams. A stone fireplace houses a traditional log burner on a stone hearth. With ample storage and prep space, it's a fabulous kitchen to prepare hearty meals for the household. A six seater dining table sits next to the fireplace, a cosy spot for an evening meal or sumptuous breakfast before heading out to explore. The property's lounge is stylish, tasteful and simply decorated with a soft fabric green sofa and two armchairs, positioned around a beautiful Victorian fireplace. A TV is located in the corner of the room, and the window provides views out to sea.

The bedrooms on the first floor consist of one kingsize and one double bed, and a room with a set of bunks, all with uninterrupted coastal views. Both doubles are beautifully decorated with clean white walls and painted exposed floorboards. The bathroom completes the first floor layout - modern and stylish featuring a bath with rainforest shower over, alongside a WC and basin with storage under.

Location

Surrounded by green fields of grazing sheep with uninterrupted sea views, the idyllic location of Fferm-Frongaled merges the rural and coastal setting perfectly. A slate chipping patio area and drive leads to the property, with a picnic table located on a lawn opposite the front door for alfresco dining or having a relaxing drink in the evening. There is a larger lawn further back, which is a secure and great place for the children to play. At only two miles from the nearest beach and a mile from the nearest pub, there's plenty to do close to home when staying at this lovingly renovated seven bedroom farmhouse with amazing sea views. Whether it's relaxing in the garden watching one of the stunning North Wales sunsets, or spending a day on the beach, there's no need to travel far to capture the beauty of the area, especially for lovers of the outdoors. The nearest sandy beach, Benar Beach, is stunning. Accessed via a boardwalk that crosses the spectacular sand dunes, there are views across to the Llyn Peninsula from the beach, which is ideal for swimming, water sports and sunbathing on those warmer summer days.

The location between Harlech and Barmouth provides the opportunity to experience a real seaside holiday feel, or capture some of the historical elements of the area. Harlech is home to the stunning 13th century Harlech Castle, sitting on a rocky outcrop overlooking the coast and mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia). It's a wonderful town to explore, with narrow streets, cute cafes and boutique gift shops. Barmouth, further south, has a more traditional seaside resort feel, but with a wide sweeping bay and a mountain backdrop, which is equally impressive.

There are plenty of opportunities for walking nearby. The Mawddach Trail runs along an old disused railway line between Barmouth and Dolgellau along the Mawddach Estuary. Further inland, Coed-y-Brenin Forest Park has numerous walking trails that are family friendly. This is also the ideal spot for lovers of cycling, with bike hire available and purpose built mountain biking trails. For more challenging hikes, the Rhinogydd mountains are nearby, where a number of walking routes meander through these hills with something to suit all skill and fitness levels.

Lovely house with beautiful views. Plenty of space for all 11 of us. We had lovely days out at Harlech, delicious ice-cream Hufenfa’r Castell. Slate mines and farm. Shell Island is well worth a visit. Lovely beach to find lots of different shells.

Absolutely stunning house! We were a family of 14. The house easily catered for all of us, with the option of being able to eat outside, and the children playing, reassured that they were safe on the grounds. Fantastic views. Great location, only a short drive from Barmouth and Harlech. A great pub close by, with lovely food and a great play area for the kids. Looking forward to coming back soon.

We stayed in both cottages FAB! Also the location! Loved the panoramic views of the sea. We ate in both kitchens at different times to enjoy the views. Would recommend local pub and beach. Will certainly return. Thanks for making our holiday so special.

Fabulous time had by all … We have loved the house and its spectacular views. Also various beaches, crabbing at Barmouth, Harlech Castle and the Ffestiniog Railway.
Thank you so much for the Welcome Hampers and for sharing your beautiful family home.

We all had a fabulous weekend celebrating my big birthday, what a truly stunning property. We loved how many of the original features have been retained which showed the history of the farm. We were a mixed group of ages so found both properties offered great space for us to socialise inside and out yet we could retreat to our own space at the end of the day. We visited Zip World which wasn’t too far away and the dare devils amongst us really enjoyed the zip wire. We came back to enjoy a beautiful sunset bbq and relaxed in the private gardens .
We hope to return again, thank you for the best weekend.

Family celebration
We had a super time at the cottages, we were very impressed with the great attention to detail. We had a full house celebrating a birthday and everything was here for us to enjoy, a real home from home experience. We loved the openness and freedom we had and the views are just sublime.
We had great weather and stayed in the garden to enjoy the sunset and the moon rising.
Everything was very comfortable and we really enjoyed the area.
The bbq’s are a real bonus too.
We can’t wait to return, thank you so much.

Lovely cottage with amazing views. Weather was lovely and sunset skies across the fields to the sea were fabulous. Trip into Harlech for a coffee and ice-cream at Knickerbockers by the quay in Barmouth were all good experiences of the area. Bought ‘Champion Sausages from London House stores ( in the Spar) in Dyffryn Ardudwy was great, worth buying! Beach at Morfa Dyffryn nearest to the cottage is the best in our opinion – with a good expanse to walk Archie. Went to Norbar a couple of miles down the road towards Barmouth, amazing seafood and good service. Overall a lovely few days, much appreciated.
