Traditional Seaside Holiday Cottage in Llandanwg | Glynmor

This beautiful semi detached home is a wonderful example of that traditional seaside holiday cottage. Situated in Llandanwg, near Harlech in North Wales, the house is walking distance to one of the nicest sandy beaches in the U.K.

The most obvious way into the house once you’ve parked up is through the back door. The kitchen is the first room. Beautiful pastel colours and a luxurious granite worktop set the tone in here. An electric oven and induction hob as well as a tall fridge freezer is all included. The essential washing machine is in the entrance hall come utility room that we passed through. A charming shabby chic breakfast table and chairs sits at the far end of the room. Great for that morning coffee before the kids get up.

From here we walk through into the dining room. A bigger table here naturally. But again the subtle tones continue creating a lovely feeling of luxury beach house. A large casement window lets in plenty of light and there’s plenty of matching crockery in the kitchen.

The lounge is next. When you tire of looking at that sea view the log fire is the natural focal point in this room. Soft grey sofas hug three walls and a modern flat screen TV sits unobtrusively on the fourth.

There are two double rooms and one twin room on the first floor and one family room in the surprisingly spacious attic conversion. The double room towards the front of the house has the added luxury of looking out over Llandanwg beach and the coastline as it curves around towards Shell Island. All the bedrooms are beautifully decorated just like the rest of the house with elegant bedside lamps, tasteful bedroom furniture and crisp white linen.

There are two bathrooms on the first floor. One bathroom has a bath as well as a separate shower cubicle, wc and washbasin. The second bathroom has another shower cubicle, wc and washbasin. There’s also a really convenient outside loo by the back door with plenty of space for lilos, snorkels, flippers etc.

Location

Location is everything of course. We’re spoilt for choice for beaches in this part of North Wales. But Llandanwg beach is one of my favourites I think. It has the all important sandy stretch for sunbathing and sandcastle building but the boulders and rock pools at the far end of the beach provide that little bit of extra interest that you don’t get on some of the other beaches. There’s also a really nice cafe down by the beach serving ice cream, tea, coffee, light lunches etc.

The famous castle town of Harlech is just a couple of miles up the coast road from the house. There are some really nice cafes and restaurants here and a small collection of shops. Barmouth, a traditional Victorian seaside town, is a 15 minute drive to the south has more pubs and restaurants and a slightly larger collection of shops.

A combination of beach walks and mountain walks accessible from your back door make this a great holiday base in both winter and summer. And a wealth of adventure activities in the area ensures that even the teenagers in your group will be happily entertained.

5 adults and 3 teenagers had a lovely week. House was very comfortable for families, a nice dining room and kitchen suitable for catering. Amazing views of the sea from the lounge and 2 bedrooms and bathroom. Owner helped with fixing a blind very quickly. Beaches close enough to walk to and we enjoyed using the close by train service for return from various coastal walks. Great location for families and groups.

The cottage was perfect for our family holiday with the dog! Clean (particularly considering pets are allowed), spacious and near a beautiful stretch of beach. Would recommend!

Our 5th time at Glynmor, so we obviously love it there, it suits our needs perfectly. Particularly clean this year with some nice touches – welcome treats, table laid, with vase of flowers. The weather was, typically mixed but the oval table was ideal for card and board games.

Lovely holiday, thank you for the welcome pack, much appreciated. Cleaners might invest a spidering brush. The smaller bathroom needs some attention to the shower hose and the shower door. Looking forward to another holiday with you.

We had a lovely stay at Glynmor, the house is well located for access to both Llandanwg and Harlech beaches as well as nearby towns. There is an amazing view from the lounge and garden as well. Would definitely return.

This was our second visit to Glynmor – a comfortable cottage in a great position between the beautiful Harlech and Llandanwg beaches.
We did have a problem with drains on our last day but this was quickly dealt with.
Will return again and definitely recommend.

Brilliant located home with a beautiful beach on the doorstep (albeit down the zig zag path!) and also close to Barmouth.
Had a great week at this house.
Comfy and with all the requirements of a holiday home.
Some work needed in the top bedrooms that our children used but otherwise very comfy and cosy house.
Would recommend and revisit.
