Beautiful One Bedroom Holiday Cottage Near The Beach | Golchdy-Llanfair

Golchdy-Llanfair is a beautiful one bedroom holiday cottage near the beach. Stunning interiors and fabulous location makes this a really great place to escape for some rest and relaxation.

It's hard to make a small space beautiful and functional, but that is exactly what the owners of Golchdy-Llanfair have done with no compromise on the final results of a fab holiday cottage. Set in the village of Llanfair, you are a two minute drive from Llandanwg beach and five minutes from Harlech beach - two of the best beaches the area has to offer.

You come straight into the open plan sitting/ kitchen/dining room with its lofty high ceiling and bold oak ‘A’ Frame beam – with strong navy blue units supported by Moroccan style tiles, the kitchen area is a real feature of the room. The up to date and great colours compliment the character of the wooden floor boards, exposed stone wall and the log burner. The dining room is composed of a bespoke bar style table crafted from welsh oak with retro stools – a great use of space without losing the design aspect. A modern sofa next to the log burner along with a small footstool make up the sitting room space and the window looks out over the garden.

Moving through into the bedroom you’ll find a high-reaching beamed ceiling with skylight. Simple furniture with lovely, soft furnishings make it beautiful. It’s light and airy and makes great use of the space. A white stable door which leads out into the garden is a great feature and on a sunny morning, you will love the fresh air coming into the room when you open it. The en-suite has a rain shower and the beautiful floor and splashback tiles carry on with the luxurious feel to this beautiful one bedroom holiday cottage near the beach.

Location

There is a private terrace at the rear of the cottage with seating and dining table, ideal to enjoy a morning coffee whilst over looking the formal gardens. There is also a large shared lawned garden with several seating areas which provide views of the sea, open farmland and surrounding hills.

The cottage is based in Llanfair which is 2 miles south of Harlech. Along with the famous Castle, Harlech has a number of great cafes and restaurants along with a few antique and gift shops. The nearest beach to the cottage is a two minute drive away and very popular with the locals - there is a cafe and public loo facilities at this beach with a small walk onto the beach itself. Five minutes further up the coast is Harlech beach which is a huge expanse of golden sand and a great place to spend a beach day.

A 15 minute drive South will bring you to Barmouth – one of the larger towns in the area with a bigger selection of places to eat and shop as well as a beach, fairground, skate park and a great harbour and prom - if you are looking for a quintessential seaside day out - then head to Barmouth and you won’t be disappointed.

Porthmadog is to the North and again a bigger town with cafes, bars and restaurants as well as the larger supermarkets where you can get all of your supplies for the week. The Ffestiniog Steam railway is located here and is a great way to see the Snowdonia landscape.

There are so many of the great activities within a relatively short drive away. Portmeirion Village is only a 10 minute drive away, Zip World in Blaenau Ffestiniog 30 minutes as are the Coed Y Brenin Mountain bike trails. 40 minutes to the foot of Snowdon, 30 mins to Cadair Idris. Surf Snowdonia is a little further away at 40 minutes.

Plenty of walking and cycling trails really close to the house – you really are so well placed to enjoy all aspects Snowdonia has to offer.

Well furnished and cosy cottage. We enjoyed being there. Could improve it for us by lowering the mirrors!! I am 5’1” and could not see in a mirror!!

The accomodation was excellent and the owner really friendly and helpful.
The information Dioni provided regarding the local shops (spa/coop) was out of date as these shops closed approx 2 years ago which we found out after trying to find them for 30 minutes!

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage. Although the weather was very mixed we were able to enjoy their beautiful garden and especially loved the big sofas where you can enjoy drinks with a view of the sea. Very grateful too for the wood burner to cosy up with on wet days. Gary and Adrian were so welcoming and helpful with any queries. We felt we were staying with friends. Definitely a place to return to!

Just back from our second stay at this gorgeous cottage and it was even better than we remembered. It’s so nice inside, really tastefully done and so cosy and comfy for two people. As for the gardens, they are stunning. We were really lucky with the weather so got to enjoy sitting outside in both the cottage garden full of colourful flowers, and the main garden with a variety of seating areas. It was lovely relaxing on the outdoor sofas and having a few drinks sat in the sunshine in such a lovely setting, just perfect! Gary and Adrian made us feel really welcome and obviously put a lot of work into keeping everywhere looking so nice.
We had some lovely walks straight from the cottage and there’s a great pub in the next village with a lovely beer garden next to the river. We also visited the Nantcol Waterfalls nearby which were beautiful and really peaceful and quiet. It really is a lovely part of Wales and you definitely won’t be disappointed with the cottage!

We both thought that the property was excellent in every respect. We have already discussed returning possibly over winter, but more likely next summer. Gary was a fab host. We look forward to our next holiday Many thanks.

Hollol wych! Totally fabulous little cottage. Immaculate and beautiful furnishings. Garden wonderful. The grey weather didn’t hamper our break one bit! The owners are so lovely! We have had so many friends enquiring about it since I put photos up on my Facebook page! We want to return to Ty Golchi.
Diolch yn fawr – amser hollol wych mewn bwthyn bach bendigedig.
