Located in a stunning rural setting, Granar-Moelis is a luxury detached cottage at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains in North Wales. This sympathetic barn conversion is a fabulous three bedroom, three bathroom property sleeping up to six people. With a beautifully furnished interior, as well as a fabulous location and also a hot tub, this property is ideal for a romantic getaway, a large family or group of friends looking for adventures or relaxation in Eryri (Snowdonia).

Stepping into this wonderful barn conversion though the olive green painted door, you enter a bright spacious kitchen and dining room, mixing a modern and traditional style. L shaped kitchen units to the right hand side are finished in a pale blue with a white stone effect worktop. The modern kitchen units provide ample storage space, with built in fridge freezer and double oven. The countertop features an induction hob, as well as a kettle, toaster, microwave and plenty of preparation space for guests wishing to prepare hearty meals for the household. The electrical plug sockets above the counter include USB ports, useful for charging a number of devices. A traditional Welsh Dresser sits against the wall opposite, providing additional storage space and a chunky six seater dining table is located in the centre of the space.

A door leading from the kitchen diner enters the barn conversion's beautiful lounge area. The lounge is a double height vaulted room rising into the eaves of the building, with exposed timber beams, adding character and charm. A cosy log burner is located in the corner of the room, and a Mexican pine coffee table is surrounded by a three seater and two seater fabric sofas, along with a comfy brown leather armchair. Dark wood flooring complements the dark wood of the structural beams in the room. A large LED Smart TV is mounted on the wall, with access to the all the popular TV apps such as Netflix.

To the opposite side of the kitchen diner, a doorway leads to the first of the property's three bedrooms, all complete with en-suite bathrooms. This ground floor Master bedroom, much like the lounge, is double height into the vaulted ceiling, featuring skylights and windows allowing light to flood in. A super king sized bed is flanked by two traditional bedside tables with lamps, and there is a large wardrobe unit opposite, along with a wall mounted Smart TV. The floor is laid with red quarry tiles, with a grey rug next to the bed. A couple of steps lead down to the en-suite bathroom featuring a large walk in cubicle with rain forest shower and hand held shower. Victorian style bathroom fittings including a WC, basin and traditional radiator and towel rail combo, finished in white and chrome. A free standing shelving unit allows plenty of space for toiletries.

A third doorway from the kitchen diner of the luxury detached cottage at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains leads through a sliding stable door into a hallway leading to the second downstairs bedroom. This bedroom has a super king size zip and link bed with bedside cabinets feature along with a large combined wardrobe and chest of drawer and a modern dressing table and mirror. A cute window seat provides space to gaze out at the spectacular panoramic views. The luxurious bathroom is huge, with a freestanding modern bath fitted centrally against the rear wall. A beautiful basin with vanity unit sits underneath a stylish art-deco mirror mounted on the wall. With storage units and a side table next to the bath, it's the perfect spot for a relaxing soak with a glass of wine after a day exploring the nearby mountains and lakes.

Heading upstairs, the bedroom is a large room away from the remainder of the house, a twin, it features two single beds each with a tall chest of drawers and table lamp next to them. The wooden framed beds, along with wicker style headboards are fitted with soft white linen and floral throws, adding a splash of colour and texture. A side chair, wall mounted TV and clothes rail complete the layout of the room. Windows to both ends, and the tall vaulted ceiling provide a bright and airy feel to this bedroom. A door leads through into a small en-suite with a modern shower-tower featuring a combination of body jets, handset & luxury overhead deluge (a spa experience in your bathroom), basin and WC.

Location

The fabulous setting of Granar-Moelis makes it the perfect location to relax and unwind. An elevated setting on farmland, the grounds of the detached property overlook the River Dee snaking its way along the valley floor. The beautifully landscaped grounds of the property include a large patio directly outside the front door with a dining table and chairs, looking out across a manicured lawn. Steps lead up to a separate raised patio area with wood fired hot tub, featuring a loveseat with central table - the perfect spot for an evening drink watching the sun setting behind the mountains of Eryri in the distance. An idyllic setting.

Located outside of the village of Llandrillo, only 15 minutes from Bala, the luxury detached cottage at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains is the ideal base to explore the nearby mountains, valleys and lakes along with some hidden gems away from the main tourist spots. Bala, on the shores of Llyn Tegid is the ideal spot for fans of water sports. The Bala Adventure and Watersports Centre is located on the lakeside and provides a range of activities including kayaking, wind surfing and stand up paddle boarding. If you prefer to stay on dry land, then there are a number of walking trails including a loop of the lake, providing fabulous views.

Hikers can head into the nearby Berwyn Mountains, much quieter than the main spots in Snowdonia. There are many peaks and lakes to be found along numerous walking trails and the scenery is spectacular. It's also a great spot for cyclists with scenic routes through the valleys and hills. Heading slightly further afield to the south, Lake Vyrnwy is just over half an hours drive. A beautiful setting, the reservoir features a large dam to one end, alongside an RSPB nature reserve and some beautiful walking routes. A slight detour from Lake Vyrnwy leads to Pistyll Rhaeadr - one of the tallest and most spectacular waterfalls in Wales. Should you prefer to head into the heart of Snowdonia, it's only an hours drive, but it's worthwhile setting out early, especially during the holiday season to ensure getting a parking spot. With great access from the Midlands and North West England, Granar-Moelis is fabulous spot for your North Wales holiday.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Granar-Moelis, the cottage and views where beautiful! We have recommended this cottage and this site to all our family and friends! The owner was lovely, very helpful and the fresh eggs from the farm where amazing! Only downside was that the hot tub was out of use for 3 of the 4 nights due to the previous guests which was a real shame for us as it was one of the main reasons for booking this cottage and left the children disappointed. Also it is advertised that there is a cot- it was a travel cot stored in an outdoor area which was not ideal when travelling with a 11 week old baby- luckily we were able to go back home and bring ours with us. Otherwise we have had a brilliant time and we are already planning our next trip on Dioniā€™s site!
