Located on the outskirts of Abersoch on a working welsh farm, Granar-Soch is the perfect location for a traditional seaside holiday. This impressive stone building, which sleeps up to 6 people, commands spectacular views over the bay and is the perfect base from which to explore the ever popular Pen Llyn.

Walking across the sunny patio and through the front door brings you to a large comfortable lounge. Solid wood floors, leather sofas, large flat screen TV and an attractive central fireplace are typical of the high standards noticeable throughout the cottage.

The separate kitchen diner is of a similar high spec. Dishwasher, microwave, fan oven etc. are all included, with a large dining table overlooking the bay at the other end of the room. The washing machine is located in an external laundry building next door and is shared with another holiday cottage on the farm.

There are three gorgeous bedrooms upstairs, all with wonderful sea views. One double room has an en-suite shower room. The other two rooms, a second double and a twin room, share a bathroom that has a shower over bath arrangement. Again, character features such as the exposed ceiling beams are complimented by tasteful furniture and fittings ensure the cottage lives up to its 5 star rating.

Location

The sheltered sandy beaches of Abersoch have long been a favourite of many visitors to North Wales. They offer the perfect location for that traditional family seaside holiday with the added luxury of some exclusive shops and restaurants if you’re that way inclined.

All the trendy kids however, go round the peninsula a little to the more exposed beaches of Porth Neigwl and Porth Oer. These are perfect for guests who like surfing and kite surfing. In contrast the calmer seas towards Pwllheli are more suitable for sailing, wakeboarding and water skiing.

You don’t have to get wet of course. There are a couple of riding stables nearby and some wonderful picturesque golf courses. Other attractions long associated with North Wales include a scattering of medieval castles and narrow gage steam railways. But don’t forget, you’re in the heart of the countryside at Granar-Soch so there’s plenty of opportunity to get away from it all as well.

Really lovely stay at Granar Soch. Perfect location for Abersoch and surrounding area. Cottage itself was extremely well equipped – everything in the kitchen you could possibly ask for – and everything very clean and well presented. Warm and cosy – just what we needed. The owners couldn’t have been nicer – even when I managed to lock my keys in the car just before we left and they stayed with us offering their phone and the cottage for use until we were sorted and every kind of tool to try and get them out! Felt so stupid – but they were so kind – it helped ease the stress. Would love to come back again.

We have just returned from a wonderful weeks’ stay at Granar-Sochi cottage! The accommodation was first class and there was plenty of room for our thirteen month old grandson to play inside and outside the cottage. He particularly enjoyed looking at the sheep in the field opposite and waving to the man on his tractor! It is a peaceful location and the owners were very friendly and accomodating. We would thoroughly recommend renting this holiday home. We hope to return sometime in the near future!

Lovely cottage in a splendid location. Enough room for our party of four adults and two children to spread out without tripping over each other. Jasper and Evie loved watching the lambs in the fields next door.

Sadly the weather was pretty poor so we weren’t able to explore the local walks however we did manage to spend ten minutes on the beach before the heavens opened. All the local beaches are great for children.

Not a complaint, but it would have been nice to know beforehand that the washing machines and dryers cost a couple of pounds to use – We would probably have taken more clothes!

Would thoroughly recommend the cottage!

We’ve just returned from a week at this lovely cottage. The weather was fantastic so we made the most of the great beaches, the nearest only 10 minutes walk away through the warren holiday park. Abersoch is a lovely small town with nice shops and restaurants. The cottage itself is wonderful. spacious and well equipped and the owner Helen very friendly and helpful. There is a small patio at the front which gets the sun in the morning until after lunchtime. There is a football field and goal which kept our 7 year old son occupied. The laundry room next door was very welcome. There are a few cottages on the farm, one even has a hot tub. The only thing I feel was missing was a guest book so we could have shared how wonderful this area is with other guests. Looking forward to returning to this special place.

We have stayed in many cottages around the country, this was the best. Very comfortable, warm and immaculate. The location is in easy reach of Abersoch and the surrounding area. You can walk to the beach in 10 minutes and explore the countryside around Castell March. Our 2 girls loved it and we will be going back.

Fantastic cottage and very friendly and welcoming owners, in a quiet setting set far back from the main road, great parking right outside the cottage and safe for kids to play, excellent location just a 10 minute walk to the beach and if the tide is out you can walk straight into Abersoch centre. The walk into Abersoch takes about 20 mins. Great beach in Abersoch with a cafe overlooking the sea, good to go crabbing or fishing in the rock pools by the little harbour after tea if the tides right. Lots of nice shops and restaurants in Abersoch and the creel is a good chippy especially if you take them and sit down by the harbour!
Whistling sands beach (porth oer) is well worth a visit and there is also a lovely cafe overlooking the beach, it is a national trust car park so you can park for free if you are members. The walk down to the beach only takes about 5 minutes but it is a very steep hill!
Hells mouth is a nice beach for a long walk.
Would definitely return and recommend.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful. Not only was it immaculate but a great deal of thought and effort had gone into ensuring this cottage was perfect for hirers. Location was great, close to the beach and to the centre of Abersoch where there were cute restaurants and pubs. I will definately be renting this cottage again. Thankyou 🙂
