Tucked away in the heart of the Llyn countryside, Hendre Feinws offers beautiful farmhouse accommodation in a country setting.

Though if we're honest, beautiful seems like rather a large understatement here. Hendre Feinws has been really lovingly renovated to create a supremely comfortable and luxurious holiday hideaway. With a gorgeous photoshoot-ready interior it exudes style, elegance, and a wonderful restful calm. The house sleeps up to 20 guests, so is perfect for extra-special get-togethers, memorable holidays, big family shindigs, and celebrations. Bright and inviting, it is packed full of original features like exposed beams and stone work, and is beautifully presented throughout. We love it.

Around four miles from Pwllheli, and just a little further from Nefyn, Porthdinllaen and the Ty Coch Inn, the farmhouse sits in more than an acre of gardens and grounds. Surrounded by rolling countryside, there are far-reaching views to Yr Eifl / The Rivals, and the Llyn coast beyond. In short, it is a supremely peaceful place where you can enjoy the sound of nothing but the birds, the bees, and the breeze in the trees.

The farmhouse has some fantastic spaces for gathering together - including an enormous kitchen diner - plus some cosy snugs and corners for quieter times. Beyond the well-proportioned living spaces, you’ll find a large porticoed hot tub, a sun-drenched outdoor dining terrace, and a large gas BBQ. The old pigsty is now a well-stocked games barn, and the enormous gardens and grounds are home to a football field, small lake (which is fenced off), and enclosed play area. It’s a fabulous place for a magical holiday break.

Downstairs at this beautiful farmhouse accommodation in a country setting, you’ll find a large sitting room, with two smaller snugs. Each of the rooms comes with comfortable plush sofas and wood burning stoves. There are lovely views across the countryside through original sash windows. They are all beautifully presented.

The kitchen diner comes with some serious wow factor too. Featuring a large range cooker as well as smart marble worktops and tiled flooring, it has all the kit and caboodle you could possibly need. Designed for sociable entertaining, there is a huge oak dining table which seats 20, as well as an additional breakfast bar / island seating area. Patio doors open from the kitchen onto the outdoor dining terrace. Also on the ground floor, you’ll find a handy laundry room, and a wc / shower.

The bedrooms are split over two upper floors. Worried you might have to draw straws to see who gets the best one? That’s not something you’re going to have to fret about here, because all of the bedrooms are boutique-hotel beautiful.

First up, on the first floor, you’ll find four large double bedrooms, two of which are en suite. There are a further two twin bedrooms, and two separate family bathrooms. And the bathrooms! Like the bedrooms, they have been beautifully designed, with a real sense of luxury. We love the roll top baths, wooden panelling, and exposed beams and stonework, and not forgetting the underfloor heating.

Up to the second floor, and you’ll find four more beautiful bedrooms, including two twin bedrooms, one of which is en suite. There are two more lovely double bedrooms, and two more beautiful family bathrooms up here too.

You’ll find Hendre Feinws on the edge of the small village of Rhos Fawr. Hidden away in the rural Llyn landscape, it is nonetheless perfectly placed for exploring the coastal towns of Pwllheli, Abersoch, Aberdaron, Criccieth, Caernarfon and the many lovely beaches and hidden bays of Pen Llyn. It’s great walking country too, and with Yr Eifl, the Wales Coast Path, and the Nantlle Ridge all within easy reach.

If you can ever bear to tear yourself away from the house, this beautiful farmhouse accommodation in a country setting is just a short hop from some of the region’s best attractions, including Portmeirion, Glasfryn Parc, Zip World, Bounce Below, Caernarfon Castle, and the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railways.

The house is dog-friendly too, so you don’t have to leave anyone behind when you holiday here.

Location

Pen Llyn the Llyn Peninsula is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one of Britain's oldest pilgrimage routes. On both counts it's not hard to see why.

An exceptional and dramatic shoreline of coves, cliffs, bays, secret sandy beaches, offshore islands and stacks, wild beating waves it's a picture of what an idyllic coastal wilderness might look like.

The farmhouse is around four miles from the seaside town of Pwllheli. This is a real maritime town, with a large marina and sailing community, and some great sandy beaches. You’ll find plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, and there are a couple of large supermarkets if you need to restock your stores whilst you're there.

Head around six miles in the other direction, and to the other coast of Pen Llyn, and you'll arrive at Porthdinllaen near Nefyn. It's home to a beautifully sheltered sandy bay and what is consistently voted one of the best bars in the world – the Ty Coch Inn. An idyllic place for a pint and a ploughman's, but do check opening times before you visit. There's also a very decent craft brewery and tap room, Cwrw Llyn in the town.

The charming coastal village of Criccieth is around 13 miles away, with its traditional Welsh tearooms, some great places to eat out, as well as some very decent fish & chips. Expect attractive independent shops and some very browsable galleries and antiques. There's even a traditional Welsh clog maker who still has his workshop in the town. Oh, and a medieval castle to watch over it all. It's a great place to explore.

This beautiful farmhouse accommodation in a country setting is a short drive from some great family activities and adventures, including the petting zoo at Dwyfor Ranch Rabbit Farm (6 miles), Glasfryn Parc with its karting and wakeboarding centre (2.5 miles), and Bounce Below, Zip World and Llechwedd slate mine at Blaenau Ffestiniog (25 miles).

For slightly more grown-up days out, head to Portmeirion and its Italian style fantasy village (15 miles), or Caernarfon with its town walls, cobbled streets, and UNESCO-listed 13th century fortress (18 miles). Or how about a day out on a steam railway? The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railway are a splendid way to see North Wales, with regular departures from Porthmadog (12 miles). Abersoch, with its buzzing bistros, bars, boutiques, surf schools and beaches, is around ten miles away.

A perfect house for a large group gathering. Beautifully renovated and with all the amenities well thought through.
Two dishwashers and kettles were very much appreciated as many large houses forget details like that. Spotless and very tasteful decor. Facilities for three generations from hot tub, games room and enclosed children’s playground. Just perfect!

Gorgeous house. Perfect for a large family
A couple of things which would be helpful is more towels for use after the hot tub would be great
A bigger hot tub too as it’s quite small for 20 people. Fits 4/5 comfortable
Comfy outside seating would also be great
Just a few things which would have been nice but it didn’t spoil anything was still a great place

We knew Hendre Feinws would suit our whole family from online photos and reviews but it actually exceeded our expectations. It was fabulous outside and inside. From the beautifully decorated bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms to the gorgeous kitchen and dining table seating every one of us. The play area, games room and hot tub were hugely appreciated by all. It was the perfect setting to celebrate a special birthday with family from all over the UK. We loved it so much and hope to return for another reunion x

The house exceeded our expectations with its impeccable standards. Our time there was simply fantastic – from enjoying the hot tub to the children’s delight in the play area and games room. Each room was elegantly designed. The owners were incredibly attentive, promptly addressing any concerns. Its location was perfect, and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. We would definitely return and 100% recommend.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The property was beautiful and immaculate. It exceeded our expectations, especially the ladies who were delighted with how clean it was. The facilities more than catered for all needs. The property was furnished with all essential needs that a family/group may have.

What a beautiful house! We could have easily stayed here longer. The owner was so lovely and helpful. The view from the hot tub was wonderful. The kitchen was superbly equipped. The setting was peaceful and restful. Lots of lovely touches. Comfy beds and high spec bathrooms. Nothing to fault, would love to return!

The house is absolutely beautiful and finished to such a high standard. The rooms are all a lovely size and comfortable. The kitchen is the perfect place for everyone to gather and enjoy themselves or simply sit down together as a group to eat or play games. The hot tub and games room was wonderful and kept everyone entertained. We have the most wonderful stay here and would definitely return again.

A great house and location for a group of senior golfing couples to enjoy the local Links courses, and area together.
The house is superbly fitted out to a high standard, spacious and has everything you’ll need.
We’d recommend Richard Roxburgh as a local
« Dine at Home » chef for that special meal together.
A great week enjoyed by all, despite rain of biblical proportions for some of the time!
Many thanks to the owners Gwenan & Geraint.

Amazing holiday had in a fabulous house. Everything was there that we could ask for. A wonderful space to spend time in on both wet and dry days and to come back to after a day out on the fantastic peninsula. Everything in the house and gardens is of the highest quality and plenty to cater for the number of people house can sleep.
Only downsides – internet wasn’t working due to an issue the owners have been waiting to be resolved with BT for awhile. Not their fault and 4G signal was mostly good. Also not allowed dogs upstairs or in living rooms, which seems a bit odd for a dog-friendly property.

As our extended family descended on Hendre Feinws the first message on the WhatsApp group was “What a stunning property”. The place was brilliant; boutique bathrooms, comfortable bedrooms, relaxing lounges and at its hub a kitchen diner. The kids loved the playground, adults the hot tub. Its a gorgeous property and I can thoroughly recommend it. For those who look at reviews and wonder whether they are real I rarely leave reviews so I was genuinely taken with this place.
