Located deep in the Conwy Valley and surrounded by beautiful landscapes and lush forests, Llyn Alwen is a stunning and modern lodge with hot tub in Betws-y-Coed. Situated at the gateway to the Eryri National Park (Snowdonia), this beautiful wooden lodge is housed on a stylish lodge park less than ten minutes' walk to the heart of the village.

Steps lead up to the main entrance, through a small hallway and into the fabulous open plan living space with a lounge area, dining space and well equipped kitchen. The interior of the lodge is luxurious with a cosy lounge area comprising two plush fabric sofas and an arm chair finished in cream and plum colours, alongside a coffee table and modern fireplace with a wall mounted TV over. With full height French doors and windows to the end wall of the lodge, natural light floods in and there are views out to the surrounding forests. To a bright corner of the space, a four seater dining table is the perfect spot to gather in the evenings with a bottle of wine or a few beers and a nice home cooked meal prepared in the adjacent kitchen, which also has a breakfast bar with stools. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped and set out in a U shape with plenty of counter and cupboard space. Finished in earthy tones with a wooden worktop, there's a built-in oven alongside a gas hob and full height fridge freezer also a combined washer/dryer. With decor finished in neutral and warm shades, along with a thick carpet, this cosy living space is charming, modern and comfortable.

To the opposite end of this stunning and modern lodge with hot tub, two bedrooms are accessed from a central corridor, one with an en-suite and an additional family bathroom. The main bedroom features a wooden framed king size bed flanked by two bedside cabinets and table lamps, along with a large wardrobe. A door leads through to the en-suite which includes a large walk-in shower cubicle alongside a basin with cabinet under and WC finished with stone effect tiles. The second bedroom, a twin room, is decorated in the same styles as the main bedroom with neutral and warm colours, and Welsh patterned blankets on the bedding finished in shades of brown and cream. A family bathroom completes the interior layout, decorated in the same style as the en-suite.

Llyn Alwen also features a private outdoor space, by way of a raised veranda accessed via the sliding doors from the lounge. Frosted glazing provides a level of privacy for spending time outdoors utilising the rattan dining table and chairs. It's the perfect spot for al fresco dining, or to have a few evening drinks while gazing out at the beautiful landscapes all around. There's also the added benefit of a sunken hot tub, which is the perfect spot to soak and relax in privacy after a long day exploring the area.

You couldn't ask for a better base to explore Eryri than Betws-y-Coed. This pretty mountain village, known as the gateway to Snowdonia, is a thriving hub for visitors to the area, packed full of outdoor and gift shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. With all of this at only ten minutes' walk from your stunning and modern lodge with hot tub, there are plenty of options to explore on foot without even getting in the car. From Betws-y-Coed, a number of walks either follow the river that runs through the heart of the village, or that venture into the surrounding pine forests. With natural beauty spots such as Gwydir Forest Park and Llyn Elsi on the doorstep, throw on your hiking boots or get on your mountain bike and explore. It's just over a mile and a half from Llyn Alwen to the spectacular Swallow Falls, or Rhaeadr Ewynnol - one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Wales.

For thrill seekers, there are a number of nearby activities to set the pulses racing. Zip World Fforest, across the river from Betws is home to Fforest Coaster and a number of other thrilling attractions. Whizz through the forest at 25mph on a toboggan with high speed twists and turns, or test your mettle by standing on a trapdoor 100 feet above the ground for a freefall drop on Plummet. For underground adventures, the nearby Go Below offers caving adventures including via ferrata, zip lines and more deep in the cavers below Eryri.

Heading deeper into the national park, all the main hotspots are within a thirty minute drive, or if you’re looking for quieter hikes away from the crowds then the Carneddau mountain range offers some fabulous walks with wonderful views of the surrounding landscapes, stretching as far as the North Wales coast. Whatever your plans, this fabulous lodge is the ideal spot to soak up the beautiful surroundings of the area.
