Quirky Loft Apartment In The Conwy Valley | Millers-Loft

Pet FriendlyNear Pub

Millers Loft is a quirky loft apartment in the Conwy valley is set in a converted water mill. With its many stunning original features and great location for exploring the area, it’s a holiday cottage must have!

The entrance into the apartment is great; a little turquoise gangway that leads straight into the sitting room come dining room. Two comfy sofa’s, coffee table and TV in the living room area are enough as the features of the room are so bold especially the original workings of the water wheel. The skylight windows are complemented by low level windows so you can admire the views of the surrounding countryside. The Country style dining room table and chairs is perfect for enjoying those lazy breakfasts and evening meals. There are sections of this room that are restricted in height due to the original features, just keep in mind, especially if you are tall!

The kitchen is located through a wooden wall partition, again an original feature from the mill and not a standard door height, so just be aware. The kitchen is a good size and has everything you would need and expect; all mod cons and lovely mint coloured units set alongside oak worktop and drawers.

The bedroom is located at the other end of the sitting room. A lovely airy feel to the room with white walls, a white brass bed and William Morris blinds - you know you would sleep well in here. The large ensuite bathroom has a beautiful tiled floor - a grey coloured geometric pattern. The free standing bath and white colour scheme add to the light and airy feel in here.

The outside space is great for an evening drink or a bit of down time for reading a book. A patio type area with rattan style armchairs and sofa are set surrounded by trees and green foliage. There are are acres of woodland to roam from the doorstep with one path leading to a local beauty spot known as Cadair Ifan Goch (Red Ifans Chair). Named after the giant who used to sit there and wash is hands in the river Conwy, from this view point the whole valley is laid out below.

As you are located in the Conwy Valley, there are lots of things to do nearby. Surf Snowdonia and Zip World are just up the road. 20 mins will bring you into Conwy itself, a beautiful medieval walled town or Llandudno is just a few minutes further on which is a quintessential victorian seaside town.

Walkers and mountain bikers have lots of opportunities with routes heading up the Carneddau mountains. Llanberis and the slopes of Snowdon are about 40 minutes to the southwest where you will pass through Betws Y Coed, home to the Swallow Falls and the Marian Trail. There are plenty of activity providers that offer a variety of watersports on the lakes and in the rivers including SUP, canyoning, kayaking, white water rafting etc.

Bodnant Gardens should be on your list of things to do and if you are happy to drive a little further afield, Portmeirion Village is about an hour away. The Castles at Caernarfon and Conwy are always impressive.

We had a wonderful week in Millers Loft. It is spotlessly clean and furnished with everything we could need. The extremely comfortable bed, combined with the peace of the valley, meant we slept soundly. Its location is ideal for exploring Conwy and the coast, and the bath was heaven after walking up – and down – Snowdon. The Co-op in Llanrwst provided all our shopping needs and is less than 10 minutes drive away. Would have absolutely no hesitation in staying here again.

We adore The Millers Loft! You couldn’t ask for anymore, beautiful setting, so quiet. Location is perfect for exploring Snowdonia and surrounding areas, or walk from the front door.
Beautifully decorated, the most amazing bathroom.
Very dog friendly.
