Holiday Cottage With Character Features And Mountain Views | Plas-Glanconwy
Plas Glanconwy is a holiday cottage with character features and mountain views set on the outskirts of Conwy and Llandudno. If you are looking to stay somewhere with the wow factor, then this place certainly ticks that box. Interiors like this usually come hand in hand with large estates and big manor houses, however, this has that same special feel but as a three bedroom cottage, making it more affordable.
The entrance to the cottage is directly into the kitchen. Keeping as many of the original features as possible, it’s a great start of the tour and a taste of what is to come. The two original fire/ovens are set back into the walls, which although not in use anymore, certainly give character and the log burner is always a welcome addition to any kitchen to give it a warm and friendly feel. The kitchen units are simple, and the addition of a Smeg fridge gives it an injection of modern. There is everything you need in terms of mod cons to cater for your group and the rustic dining room table and chairs will certainly be a place everyone will congregate to. The floors are uneven in here, but hopefully you'll agree it would have been a crying shame to take away all that character!
Into the sitting room and you won’t be disappointed. You can feel the history in here. With oak wall panelling and ceilings throughout and a huge stone inglenook fireplace, it feels very regal in here. The heavy, red velvet curtains and pelmets are just the perfect finishing touch along with the distressed leather sofas and red velvet, Louis XVI style sofas and chairs. There is a piano so if there is a musician in the mix of guests, you are set for a great evening of singalongs!
There is a double bedroom on the ground floor. More oak panelling makes this room feel very special. The new furniture has been chosen to be in keeping with the style of the cottage. The family bathroom is also located on the ground floor. Exposed oak ceiling and the original slate floor make it very ‘instagramable’ and the lovely addition of matching dressing gowns for all the guests is fantastic.
Upstairs are two more bedrooms. A double and twin. The master double bedroom is large with high apex ceilings. Minimally decorated, you'll see lots of original features giving a serene feel to it - no clutter always makes for a great night sleep! The twin is more modern than the rest of the house, but with an Annie Sloane feel to it, it's another beautiful room to add to the others.
