Holiday Cottage with Hot Tub and Sauna on a Working Farm | Stabal-Dyrus

Hot TubFarm StayReal Fire
A traditional stone barn has been converted into a 4 bedroom holiday cottage on a working farm near Pwllheli in North Wales. There are 5 holiday cottages on the farm altogether. All very professionally run and spotlessly clean. Guests have the added luxury of a small on site spa cabin with hot tub, sauna and treatment room.

A traditional stable door leads us into the kitchen. Solid oak fitted units with a central island house a modern electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge freezer. The adjoining dining room with pine table and simple country cottage dining chairs is to the left.

To the right we enter a large lounge area complete with impressive inglenook fireplace with log burner. The original oak beams and antique grandfather clock is complemented by a solid oak floor.

The solid oak floor continues upstairs into the 4 bedrooms. 1 twin room, 1 single room, 1 double room and 1 family room, so sleeps up to 8 adults in total. All the bedrooms, like the rest of the house, are immaculate. Traditional woven wool blankets that adorn the beds combined with the original exposed beams and ledge and brace doors gives the cottage a real country feel. A spacious family bathroom has a shower over bath arrangement.

The cottage is located on a 200 acre rural sheep and cattle farm between the mountains of Snowdonia and the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula. This safe child friendly environment will be a joy for many guests with lots of country walks accessible right from your front door.

A short drive to the east will bring you to Cwm Pennant and the Nantlle Ridge and then Snowdon itself. In the other direction the beaches and coves of the peninsula are a favorite of lots of our summer guests. The ever popular Abersoch as well as the market town and sailing harbor of Pwllheli attract thousands of visitors every year. We’d suggest also exploring quieter locations like Aberdaron, Porth Dinllaen and Criccieth.

Popular local attractions include the petting farm near Chwilog, Ffestiniog narrow gauge railway, Glasfryn Adventure Park and numerous castles and historical sites. Many adventure sports are also popular. Coasteering, zip lining, sailing and white water rafting along with many others can all be enjoyed nearby.

We had a lovely week at Stabal-Dyrus. The cottage was well converted and quite spacious even with 4 adults and 3 children staying. It was a nice quiet farm not too far from Pwellheli. Easy drive of local attractions on the peninsula or Snowdonia.

The toy tractors proved a hit with toddlers and table tennis and a trampoline for older children helps provide entertainment. Also the farm has lambs, sheep and cattle in the fields around. The spa was great for adults in the evening.

We had no problems at the cottage Wifi coverage was fine in the cottage and useful. The owners were very helpful and recommended local attractions.

If on holiday in the area again we will definitely return.

We spent the weekend at Stabal-Dyrus; our party was four adults and four children ranging from 7 years to 9 months. The facilities were wonderful, the fact that a high chair and travel cot were provided made life a lot easier. The cottage was clean and beautifully presented and has been restored to a high standard. Location is second to none and we were fortunate that our stay coincided with the arrival of lambs!

There is lots of do and we spent a day on Abersoch beach which was only a 15 minute drive from the cottage; we were very lucky with a bright, clear day in early March.

The Wifi was a little hit and miss but honestly it did us no harm at all not to be connected to the outside world for a couple of days; there is no shortage of wonderful views to appreciate during your stay.

The hot tub and sauna were welcomed after a long day of adventures. We are already planning our next visit!

We had a great week the cottage was lovely and spacious and the hot tub and sauna were welcome additions after a long day out. The chocolate brownies and biscuits were lovely too. The wood burner was great on a cool evening. It was also nice to be met by the owner when we arrived even though it was late at night and raining. The only slight drawback was the Wi-Fi connectivity which could be very temperamental probably due to the thickness of the cottage walls. If this could be improved by the addition of a Wi-Fi booster then this would be great.

Beautiful cottage on a wonderful farm, we went at the start of lambing season which was a little treat. The cottage itself was amazing. Every room looks just how it should with tradition features and the added benefit of modern twists like the under floor heating which is a real luxury! The spa was great…the sauna was so hot and the hot tub is brilliant! We will be back again soon

What a wonderful cottage! Beautifully designed and furnished, warm and inviting, with a friendly welcome from the owners. What more could we ask for. Oh, the Welsh countryside of course! We shall return…
