Stabal-Penarth is in the grounds of Penarth-Fawr, one the original 15th Century ‘Hall Houses’, built by the medieval Welsh gentry to demonstrate their wealth and position in society. Our converted stable next door shares some of the history whilst benefiting from some more modern touches.
As you enter into this beautiful old stone building, you come into the open plan sitting and dining room. Thick, lime washed stone walls give you a sense of the age of the property. The space, decor and mix of new and antique furniture make this first room a fantastic sociable and convivial space. You will undoubtedly want to spend lots of time in here with friends and family.
Through an alcove brings you to the kitchen. A modern farmhouse style makes it one of those kitchens you wish you had at home, especially with its Belfast sink, big traditional taps and sturdy wooden chopping boards. All the appliances are new and there is plenty of storage to accommodate everything you will need for your stay here.
Off from the kitchen is a twin room - a beautiful room with exposed stone walls. Fully carpeted and furnished with traditional wooden furniture and good quality soft furnishings. The ground floor bathroom has a shower over bath, WC and washbasin. It is decorated in neutral colours and has the benefit of the thick white washed walls maintaining the character a property of this age has.
Upstairs, there are three double rooms. All beautifully presented with apex ceilings, they all have a very calm and serene feel about them which will certainly help with getting in that rest and relaxation. Some interesting yet tasteful furniture and fixtures are complimented by some wonderful artwork on the walls. One more bathroom is also located up here with a shower, WC and washbasin.
