Traditional Quarryman's Cottage in the Heart of Rugged Snowdonia | Wenallt
Traditional quarryman's cottage in the heart of rugged Snowdonia, Wenallt sleeps six with everything you need for a break away in the mountains. A quaint and cosy mid-terrace cottage original features throughout is a beautiful place to enjoy whilst exploring the local area.
As you come into the cottage, the combined sitting room and dining room are directly on your right. The original fireplace, as you would expect, is central to the room and the beautiful quarry floor tiles add so much character. At one end, the Chippendale style sofa and chairs add to the charm and make for the perfect place to relax after a day in the lakes and mountains. The dining room table and chairs positioned at the other end are in-keeping with the rest of the décor with plenty of space for you all to sit and enjoy mealtimes.
From the sitting room leads onto the kitchen where those quarry tiles are carried through. New, modern kitchen units and a butler sink, provide a great balance between the old and the new. The views from the kitchen window are incredible and if anything, you’ll be pulling straws as to who will be doing the washing up! Despite being small, as you would expect from a cottage of this era, there is everything you need to cater for your group. A back door leads you out into the garden.
Upstairs, on the first floor, there are two double bedrooms – both with stunning views looking out into the mountains. Wooden floors, traditional brass framed beds and the fireplaces (not in use) make them all beautiful rooms. A Victorian style family bathroom with shower and WC is also on this floor – again with beautiful views of the lake.
Through one of the bedrooms on the first floor, there is a flight of stairs that takes you up to a third double bedroom – this set up would be great for those with children as there is no door separating the rooms, only the stairs.
