Holiday Cottage With Fantastic Views Near Fairy Glen | Wern-Fawr

As you pull down into the drive of the cottage, the view that greets you is spectacular; a beautiful old stone building looking out over the Conwy river and the Lledr valley. Wern-Fawr is a three bedroom holiday cottage with fantastic views near Fairy Glen and a five minute drive from the centre of Betws Y Coed itself.

Entering into the cottage brings you straight into the sitting room where you’ll find two comfy sofas, a log effect burner and TV - all very inviting and where you will spend many a cosy evening. The sitting room leads out onto a large wooden terrace which overhangs the hillside; an absolutely stunning addition to the cottage.

Back through the sitting room leads you into the kitchen. A lovely modern kitchen with exposed brick stone at one end. Another log effect burner gives a very inviting feel to the room. A large dining room table which will seat six comfortably along with plenty of storage and modern appliances, including an American style fridge will mean you have everything you need for cooking up a storm during your stay.

Upstairs there are two double rooms and one twin room. The two double rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers and are beautifully decorated with lots of individual touches whilst retaining a clean and airy feel throughout. The twin room is at the back of the house and has its own family bathroom; with both shower and bath. All the rooms and bathrooms are finished to a very high spec.

Location

The show piece of this cottage is the wooden terrace that overhangs the hillside. A huge space with table and chairs allows you to enjoy the views with no interruption. A fantastic place to sit and eat dinner, have breakfast, or just sit and daydream! There is plenty of outdoor garden space with lots of places for the kids to run around and enjoy the natural surroundings.

1.5 miles from the centre of Betws Y Coed, the cottage is really well positioned. Betws Y Coed, home to the Swallow Falls waterfall and the famous Fairy Glen is in walking distance from the cottage. There are plenty of shops and cafes in Betws y Coed town centre and a real go to place if you are after outdoor clothing. The Conwy Falls and Cafe are 5 minutes up the road where you will also find the headquarters for Go Below, the ultimate in underground adventures for the area. Dolwyddelan Castle is also a 5-10 min drive away.

15 minutes from the new Zip world adventures means you also have easy access to some of the great new attractions the area has to offer. Wyddfa (Snowdon) is a 20 minute car ride away as is Conwy where you find the Castle and a great old market town where the smallest house in the UK is located.

A great rural cottage just off the main road. Plenty of parking & a great garden for dogs to run around in. Views are spectacular. House was clean and tidy with all the utensils and kitchen equipment you could ask for. Only a 5 minute drive into Betws-y-Coed. As a group of 6 & 2 dogs, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return!!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Wern-Fawr and look forward to a return trip. The house was left in perfect condition for our family with every care and attention made by the owners to make the property perfect for a home away from home experience. The gardens are well maintained and the decked area takes full advantage of the spectacular views.
Great handbook for directions but unfortunately could not master the instructions for the TV.
My only problem with the property is the restricted view when leaving the property. The entrance is located close to a bend on the road and the mature hedge also restricts the view. Just wondering if a set of mirrors might assist in making a safe exit?

Would fully recommend the property.

Wern Fawr was absolutely wonderful. I don’t think I have ever stayed an a cottage as well equipped, like home from home….apart from I am now suffering from rangemaster and fridge freezer envy!!! I booked the property as there was space for my grown up family to join us for a few days to celebrate my 60th birthday. They left feeling gutted that they could not stay the whole week. The view from the decking was spectacular and we all felt relaxed as soon as we arrived. The surrounding area, just breathtaking. We have all fallen in love with Wern Fawr and will be returning. Thank you for all the hard work that goes into the upkeep of the property.
The whole process from booking through to staying and leaving has been seamless.

We had a fantastic time at this cottage. A brilliant location, we enjoyed the short walk down to the Fairy Glen for some wild swimming. The cottage exceeded our expectations and was well equipped for a weeks stay. The garden and outdoor spaces are very spacious and private. The cottage was very spacious and clean. The bedrooms were really nice and we enjoyed having en-suite bathrooms. Betws-y-Coed only a short drive and we enjoyed spending time in the village. We made some really happy family memories here and hope to come back soon! Also, great communication from Dioni and the owners so we appreciated that. We are using/have booked Dioni again for another cottage holiday in the winter.

We had a great stay at this cottage as a group of friends. The communal areas were a great size and comfortable, with the terrace a great addition for a sunny evening. The bedrooms were all a good size, each with their own bathroom. We found the room layout great as one couple had a toddler – the twin room is in a separate part of the house meaning that we didn’t have to worry about making noise in the communal areas in the evening. The house was really clean and well equipped. The location is great and in easy walking distance of Fairy Glen and close to amenities. The host responded really quickly to queries.

When we arrived at the cottage it had not been cleaned so that was a bad start. My daughter contacted the housekeeper and cleaners were able to have it ready by 5:30 so we went in an hour and a half later than planned. The cottage is lovely and we were very comfortable there. The decking especially is excellent for sitting out and enjoying the wonderful view. We had one dog with us who loved the garden but could get under the gate and did so on one hair raising occasion. I would suggest that a length of chicken wire be fixed to the bottom bar of the gate in order to make the garden completely safe for all sizes of dog. The television was a complete mystery but no other guests seem to have had any problems finding programmes so maybe that was just us! We loved the cottage and its situation despite these comments/suggestions and would be happy to return one day.
