One Bedroom Chalet Style Holiday Cottage With Sea Views | Yr-Odyn Bach

Pet FriendlyNear Beach

Based on the Llyn Peninsula, Yr-Odyn Bach is a one bedroom, chalet style holiday cottage with sea views. The floor to ceiling glass doors make the most of the stunning landscape and create a very tranquil space.

The holiday cottage is set in the village of Aberdesach, 5 miles south of Caernarfon. Aberdesach is a bit of hidden gem and the position of the cottage, right on the coast, makes it very special and the perfect getaway for a holiday by the sea.

The cottage is open plan with a sitting room, kitchenette and dining area. The distressed wooden floorboards add to the seaside feel and naturally, the focus of the room is the huge windows. There is everything you need to cater for you and your holiday partner during your time here.

Back through into the entrance hall at the back of the cottage gives you access to the bedroom and bathroom. The double bedroom, like the living area, benefits from the floor to ceiling windows, giving you some of the best views possible to wake up to. Simply decorated, it will be the perfect place to get your rest and relaxation in.

The bathroom has a massage shower, WC and washbasin.

As mentioned, Aberdesach is a bit of a secret, handed down from generation to generation of only a few groups of holidaymakers. This small stretch of unspoilt coastline is refreshingly free of any commercial exploitation. So you have to promise only to tell your closest friends and family if you come and stay with us here.

As beautiful as the coastline is you should try and explore a bit further afield during your stay. The town of Caernarfon and it’s famous medieval castle is about 15 minutes to the north.

Pwllheli is about 15 minutes to the south where you’ll find the harbour and a great place to go sailing. A big market town on the Llyn Peninsula, there are some restaurants and cafes to enjoy a bite to eat and there are lots of independent gift shops to mooch around and get some mementoes of your holiday.

Plas Glyn-y-Weddw is just up the road towards Abersoch which is an old stately home that has been converted into a fabulous art gallery, gift shop and cafe – a very lovely place to while away an afternoon. From the gallery, you can walk down to the beach and you’ll find a beachfront restaurant which is a great place to have dinner.

Most people head up Snowdon from Llanberis on the far side of the mountain, some 20 minutes away by car, but an assent from the nearer Rhyd-Ddu offers a path less travelled for experienced walkers. The nearby Clynog mountain range is also very popular with keen walkers.

Zip World is 20 minutes inland towards Bangor and 30 minutes south will bring you to Portmeirion Village. as you can see you are well located to enjoy a real mix of different activities and see different things in and around North Wales.

Delightful stay at Odyn-Bach in a beautiful location on the beach. The sunsets are stunning and go on my Facebook page every time I stay here.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Yr Odyn Bach. Lovely setting, very private and peaceful. Ideal location for visiting everywhere on the Llyn peninsula. A very relaxing break.

First time coming to the area and we weren’t disappointed.
The chalet was perfect and exactly what we wanted – clean, well equipped, bright and airy.
Amazing sunsets and even woke one morning to a pod of dolphins directly in front of us that we watched for over an hour!
The only issue we found is there are no windows, only sliding doors and we had a mini heatwave meaning the nights were very hot, would be good to have a fan there to use if needed. But this didnt take away anything from our enjoyment.
Dog owners – to access you have to cross a metal grated bridge that was very painful for the dog to walk on so had to be carried over, just something to consider.
We found the location ideal, in the middle of being able to get into the mountains, head back inland or out further on the peninsula.
Word of warning lots of pubs and restaurants don’t open every day and when they were open were busy so suggest you plan and book in advance not to be left disappointed.
Overall we were very happy with our stay, a lovely welcome gift and attentive owners checking everything was ok. Will definitely be coming back.

Had a fantastic week. The sunsets are lovely. Every thing you need. We will definitely be coming back next year 👌🏼😀

Great stay on the Llyn Peninsula, lovely accommodation and really well located for all of the peninsula, we explored many beaches and loved them all. The items supplied at the beginning our stay were much appreciated, the cake especially! Thank you for a great holiday.

Lovely little cottage in a great location, really nice and peaceful with stunning sea views. The break was just what we needed, and the stunning sunsets were absolutely gorgeous and just added to the week. We had really warm (hot) weather for the duration of our break which was great, however a lack of windows for ventilation meant the cottage got quite warm when closed up at night or when out. But other than that we had a great week. Would definitely come back again.

We loved our stay at Yr Odyn Bach, it is in the most spectacular setting with the mountains on one side and the sea on the other. It’s lovely to walk along the beach and watch the fantastic sun sets. The chalet is very comfortable with everything you need and a nice comfy bed. It’s location is ideal for exploring the stunning Llyn Peninsula, we covered most of it in the week we had, particular favourites were the Ffestiniog and Highland railway from Caernarfon to Beddgelert, Portmeirion where we had a fab cream tea at the hotel, the fabulous castles and a visit to Anglesey and the delightful pier at Bangor, one of the prettiest I have ever seen. Driving along the country lanes was quite hairy in places🙈but very good fun as we were rewarded with fantastic views. We never met the owners of the property but spoke on the telephone and they were very friendly and helpful, even when the tv packed up! Would highly recommend a stay here, you won’t be disappointed.
