Ysgubor-y-Coed is a traditional farm holiday cottage near Betws-y-Coed in Eryri (Snowdonia), North Wales. This beautifully presented cottage is the ideal getaway for couples or families.

Recently renovated, this traditional Welsh stone cottage offers high quality accommodation as well as a window (or several) on to farming life in North Wales. You can expect a warm Welsh welcome in what is an idyllic rural location.

The friendly family who run the smallholding here look after piglets, lambs and chickens, and you’ll see the animals enjoying free-range life in the fields around the cottage. There are two other lovely holiday cottages – Hafod-y-Coed and Stabal y Coed – on the same farm, and all three cottages sleep 4 guests each.

An oak front door opens into the open plan ground floor living space of the cottage. It has been renovated to the highest standards using local materials, including Welsh slate flooring throughout which benefits from underfloor heating courtesy of an eco-friendly hydro-electric system.

Exposed oak beams and feature frames around the recessed windows add warmth to what is a light and airy space. A woodburning stove is a focal point in the corner of the living area which has enough comfortable seating for everyone to put their feet up.

A good sized oak dining table - which seats four - links the living area to the kitchen. The kitchen is spacious, bright and modern, and is well equipped including oven, hob, microwave and large fridge as well as a beautiful Welsh dresser.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin. The double has an en-suite bathroom, and there is a separate bathroom with bath and shower for the twin room. Oak doors, flooring and exposed beams give the bedrooms a lovely warmth. There are beautiful views of the farm and surrounding countryside from every window.

The Capel Garmon Neolithic Burial Chamber is within walking distance of the cottage and is well worth a visit.

There are plenty of wonderful walking routes in this neck of the woods, Conwy Falls and Fairy Glen are favourites. Don’t miss the wonderful Clough Williams-Ellis designed Conwy Falls Café if you’re heading towards the falls. We had a wonderful week at Ysgubor. The weather was challenging but coming back to a comfortable cosy cottage really made our holiday. Ioan and Sue are perfect hosts and very accommodating with regard to storing our bikes. The sweet lambs and chickens were our welcoming party every day we came back from a day out! It was our first time in North Wales and we cant wait to come back!

Have just spent a wonderful week in an amazing cottage in an incredibly gorgeous location.

The hosts, Sue and Ioan, are a lovely couple and were very welcoming upon arrival and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Not forgetting the super friendly Bob, Jack & Nell!

The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break. We will miss the glorious views and the sunrise over the hills with the sheep bleating in the fields. Absolutely idyllic!

Will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely cottage in a great place. The surrounding area was so beautiful. The only feedback would be stock more toiletries, kitchen utensils, better internet connection. We expected these for a luxury cottage and would serve customers of varied interests better.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful area, run by lovely people. The underfloor heating kept the cottage so warm that it really wasn’t necessary to light the wood burner, even on a cold November evening. However, as the fire had already been laid for us it seemed a shame not to light it and enjoy a cosy evening, with twinkling lights and comfy surroundings, including a very comfy king size bed. Will definitely return again.

The cottage was beautiful & in an idyllic location. I particularly loved my morning cuppa sitting on the bedroom window seat looking out over the fields of sheep, chickens & horses. We enjoyed a wonderful week of walking & visiting the local area. As we were there when restaurants were still closed due to Covid, take aways & outdoor eating were however open. We utilised the Indian & pub in nearby Llanwrst, as well as Y Stablau in Betws Y Coed which is about 15 min drive. The kitchen however has everything you need for a home cooked meal. Our 10 year old daughter loved being on the farm & the owners were very helpful. We would definitely stay again if coming to this area & recommend to friends.
