So I have been introduced to ‘portaledges’ this week. For those of you who are not in the know, they are platforms you suspend from the side of a cliff that can be slept on, sat on and eaten on. They are usually reserved for rock climbers who need somewhere to sleep and rest when they spend multiple days (and nights) climbing a big wall (can you imagine!)…. Curl up in front of a log fire this winter
A number of our holiday cottages have log fires. One of the nicest I think can be found at Cae-Meddyg above Llanbedr. With comfortable leather sofas and sumptuous cushions guests are encouraged to curl up with a mug of hot chocolate after a long walk in the wild rhinog mountains behind the cottage.
