Top 5 Cottages for Walking Holidays

Walking in Snowdonia during the winter months is breathtaking; the snow capped mountains, the tumultuous seas, the windy beaches and the cold icy lakes are a very different experience to their Summer counterparts and in all honestly, I prefer it. Make sure you’re wrapped up warm, it’s cold up on the mountains and the wind can be quite unforgiving on the beach, but as long as you’re warm and dry, its just glorious. Here are top 5 cottages for walking holidays:   Spectacular Views Over The Mawddach Estuary Formerly the home of a sea captain sailing from Barmouth, this 3 bedroom stone cottage commands truly spectacular views over the Mawddach estuary and Cader Idris beyond. The cottage itself is a traditional build of stonewalls under a welsh slate roof. I was sold on the place before I stepped over the threshold. Romantic Weekend in Snowdonia

Gentlemen of the UK, your love lives are in crisis. Santes Dwynen Dwynen is the Welsh saint of love and, as is the case in many such examples, her tale is deeply rooted in folk tales and Celtic stories. She was the daughter of the king Brychan Brycheiniog and one of 24 siblings. The…

Curl up in front of a log fire this winter

A number of our holiday cottages have log fires. One of the nicest I think can be found at Cae-Meddyg above Llanbedr. With comfortable leather sofas and sumptuous cushions guests are encouraged to curl up with a mug of hot chocolate after a long walk in the wild rhinog mountains behind the cottage. We’ve reduced the prices between now and Christmas by 10% so have a look at the availability calendar try and squeeze in a break before then. https://dioni.co.uk/cae-meddyg-farm/

Back To Work Blues

I know it’s sad, but its time to admit that the summer is over. Everybody’s back in work and the nights are drawing in. But I was reading an article online on how to avoid ‘back to work blues’. One method apparently, is to ‘plan your next weekend away’. That and tidying your desk!? So I’m here to offer our services. With the weekend away I mean. You’ll have to tidy your own desk. Most of our cottages are happy to take short breaks now that the summer rush is over. And the prices always come down a little bit at this time. So imagine walking deserted beaches and windswept mountaintops, before coming home to a real log fire and maybe a mug of hot chocolate. Fill in our [enquiry form…] and I’ll email you back with a couple of suggestions. It’ll help cheer you up if nothing else.
