Double the Holidays, Double the Hygge: May Bank Holiday Availability at Our Luxury Log Cabins

Published on 17 Apr 2026 by Amy Greenwood

There is a specific kind of magic that happens in North Wales during May. The Eryri (Snowdonia) foothills turn a vibrant, impossible green, the bluebells start to carpet the woodland floors, and the air carries that first real hint of summer warmth.

With two Bank Holidays on the horizon, we have a rare opportunity for you to claim a slice of this paradise. We currently have availability across all four of our bespoke Scandinavian-style lodges: Lagom, Cwtch, Hyggelig, and Gezellig. Whether you’re looking for a romantic retreat or a high-end base for your hiking boots, these cabins offer a level of luxury that makes “staycation” feel like an understatement.

The Fantastic Four: Which Cabin Fits Your Vibe?

Our four lodges are nestled at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains on the stunning Rivercatcher estate. While they all share five-star amenities – like private hot tubs, wood-burning stoves, and enclosed gardens – each has its own distinct personality.

1. Lagom: The Art of “Just Right”

True to its Swedish name, Lagom is all about balance. Sleek modern design meets rustic comfort. Featuring a designer Devol kitchen and a private deck overlooking the rolling countryside, it’s the ultimate spot for those who appreciate the finer details of minimalist luxury.

2. Cwtch: A Welsh Hug in Timber Form

Cwtch is the quintessential romantic escape. Think Moroccan-tiled kitchens, plush leather seating, and a warm, boho atmosphere. It’s located just a short stroll from the local pub, making it perfect for those who want a quiet pint before a moonlit soak in the hot tub.

3. Hyggelig: The Mountain Sanctuary

Hyggelig (Danish for ‘cosy’) delivers exactly what it promises. Tucked away with a backdrop of the Berwyn Mountains, this lodge features floor-to-ceiling windows that ensure you’re never disconnected from the wild beauty of Wales—even while you’re curled up by the crackling fire.

4. Gezellig: Bohemian Bliss

Gezellig brings a touch of wanderlust to the Welsh countryside. With its vibrant decor, hanging swing chair, and striking geometric-tiled ensuite, it’s designed for those who want their holiday photos to look as good as the holiday feels.

Why May is the Perfect Time to Visit

May in North Wales is a hiker’s dream. The trails are quieter than the peak summer months, but the weather is often at its most reliable. You can spend your days exploring Bala Lake, white-water rafting, or bagging peaks in Eryri National Park, before retreating to your private estate to watch the sunset from the bubbles of your hot tub.

Limited Availability for May 4th & May 25th

Our log cabins are among our most popular properties and usually book up months in advance. Because of a rare opening, we can currently offer stays for both the Early May Bank Holiday and the Spring Bank Holiday.

Don’t leave your long weekend to chance. Grab your hiking boots (and your swimwear) and join us for a May to remember.
