Here are our favorite art galleries in North Wales…
PLAS GYLN Y WEDDW | LLANBEDROG
This impressive grade II Gothic Victorian Mansion is the perfect place to view some of Wales’ best art. The gallery was originally established in 1896 to showcase the art collection of the Jones-Parry family of the Mandryn estate. There are now over 80 artists exhibited at the gallery.
MOSTYN | LLANDUDNO
Walesâ leading gallery of contemporary art. The turn of the century galleries at MOSTYN are integrated alongside recently expanded new spaces, in a stunning design by architect Dominic Williams. Six galleries showcase the best of contemporary art, displaying a wide range of exhibitions which change seasonally.
THE ROYAL CAMBRIAN ACADEMY (RCA) | CONWY
Established in 1881 by Queen Victoria, the Royal Cambrian Academy is a center for artistic excellence in Wales. Exhibiting work by members of the Academy, it is a window to promote up and coming artists of quality. Members include practicing painters, sculptors, printmakers, and architects.
MOMA, WALES | MACHYNLLETH
MOMA WALES (Museum Of Modern Art, Wales) is set over seven exhibiting spaces. ALongside the exhibitions, there is a permanent Collection of works by artists from 1900 with the emphasis on artists living or working in Wales. The museum’s policy has been to acquire works from artists exhibiting at MOMA, Wales. There are over 280 works in the collection.
