Bring the whole family! You’re all going to love Hendre Feinws
Published on 10 Aug 2022 by Amy GreenwoodMulti-generation holidays are on the rise. With that in mind, we’d like to introduce you to this beautiful Llŷn farmhouse – it’s the perfect 3G getaway.
A recent survey by UK pollster Opinion Matters found that more than a third of holidaymakers intend to take more holidays with multiple generations of their family in the coming years, after months spent separated from loved ones during the pandemic.
This kind of multi-generation holiday – also known as a “3G” trip – can have some serious perks. It can mean a few stolen hours for mum and dad with free babysitters in the form of grandmas and grandads (or uncles, aunties and cousins) for the kids.
In an ideal world, it means a fair division of labour when it comes to preparing meals and washing up (though don’t worry, there is a good dishwasher). And it can also work out far cheaper per person, once you split the cost.
But possibly the best thing about a 3G break is the chance to spend quality time with those you love most.
And with that in mind we would like to introduce you to a very special holiday cottage – brand new to the Dioni portfolio. Hendre Feinws, a beautiful farmhouse in the heart of the Llŷn countryside, will delight the whole gang, whatever their age.
The perfect holiday cottage for large groups and extra-special get-togethers
Hendre Feinws has been really lovingly renovated to create a supremely comfortable and luxurious holiday hideaway. With a gorgeous photoshoot-ready interior it exudes style, elegance, and a wonderful restful calm.
The house sleeps up to 20 guests, so is perfect for extra-special get-togethers, memorable holidays, big family shindigs, and celebrations. Bright and inviting, it is packed full of original features like exposed beams and stone work, and is beautifully presented throughout. We love it, and we’re pretty sure you will too.
Around four miles from the sandy seaside of Pwllheli, and just a little further from the beaches at Nefyn, Porthdinllaen and the Ty Coch Inn, the farmhouse sits in more than an acre of gardens and grounds.
Surrounded by rolling countryside, the cottage comes with far-reaching views to Yr Eifl, and the Llŷn coast beyond. It is a supremely peaceful place where you can enjoy the sound of nothing but the birds, the bees, and the breeze in the trees.
The farmhouse has some fantastic spaces for gathering together – including an enormous kitchen diner – plus some cosy snugs and corners for quieter times – ideal if you fancy sloping off with the crossword or to catch up on some well-earned holiday reading.
Beyond the well-proportioned living spaces, you’ll find a large porticoed hot tub, a sun-drenched outdoor dining terrace, and a large gas BBQ.
The old pigsty is now a well-stocked games barn. The enormous gardens and grounds are home to a football field, small lake (which is fenced off), and enclosed play area. It’s a fabulous place for a magical 3G holiday break, with plenty of space for the kids to enjoy the freedom of running around and exploring the grounds.
The kitchen diner comes with some serious wow factor. Designed for memorable holiday meals and sociable entertaining, there is a huge oak dining table which seats 20, as well as an additional breakfast bar / island seating area. Patio doors open from the kitchen onto the outdoor dining terrace.
The bedrooms are split over two upper floors. Worried you might cause a family rift when it comes to deciding who sleeps where? That’s not something you’re going to have to worry about here, because all of the bedrooms are boutique-hotel beautiful.
You’ll find Hendre Feinws on the edge of the small village of Rhos Fawr. Hidden away in the rural Llŷn landscape, it is nonetheless perfectly placed for exploring the coastal towns of Pwllheli, Abersoch, Aberdaron, Criccieth, Caernarfon and the many lovely beaches and hidden bays of Pen Llŷn.
It’s great walking country too, and with Yr Eifl, the Wales Coast Path, and the Nantlle Ridge all within easy reach. And you could picnic at a different sandy bay every day for a month and never run out. The Llŷn really is an idyllic place for any family who loves holidaying near the sea.
If you can ever bear to tear yourself away, Hendre Feinws is just a short hop from some of the region’s best family attractions. These include Portmeirion, Glasfryn Parc, Zip World, Bounce Below, Caernarfon Castle, and the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railways.
Hendre Feinws sleeps up to twenty guests in ten bedrooms, so there is plenty of room for even the largest of families. And it is pet-friendly, so the dog is very welcome to come too. Find out more about Hendre Feniws, and be one of the first to book this beautiful Llŷn farmhouse, here.
