Elegant Country House Holiday Apartment in Anglesey | 2-Tyn-Caeau
Set on the upper floor of a handsome Georgian house in the heart of Menai Bridge, 2-Tyn-Caeau is an elegant self-catering apartment that blends classic period style with relaxed, modern comfort. High ceilings, sash windows, and garden views meet bold interiors and plush furnishings — creating a refined yet welcoming space that’s ideal for couples, friends or families.
Inside, you’ll find all the timeless character you’d expect from a Georgian home — lofty rooms, generous light and charming features — alongside modern touches that make it feel effortlessly liveable. The sitting room is rich in colour and comfort, with velvet sofas, a decorative fireplace, and a Smart TV for cosy nights in. Whether it’s books, boxsets or just a good bottle of wine, this is a space that invites you to linger.
The kitchen is a warm, shaker-style space with herringbone flooring and wooden worktops — perfect for lazy breakfasts or a locally-sourced feast. It’s well equipped and ideal for sociable cooking, with plenty of room to gather.
There are three bedrooms — two with super king-sized beds and one with a king — all furnished with ample storage, soft lighting and a calm, stylish design that encourages late lie-ins and early nights. The main bathroom includes a walk-in shower, a gorgeous freestanding egg-shaped bath, and a smart vanity unit. A second WC is located separately, which makes sharing this apartment much easier during busy mornings or bigger group stays.
Outside, guests have use of a shared lawned garden with mature trees and plenty of seating. A wooden six-seater dining set is located just outside the apartment door and can be moved into the garden for sunnier meals. Two four-seater picnic benches are also available further into the garden — ideal for drinks, lunches or post-adventure debriefs in the fresh air.
Please note: while the wide, open staircase is a beautiful feature of this Victorian home, the lower-than-standard banister may make it less suitable for families with young children.
Please note that the ground floor of the property is home to another holiday let — 1-Tyn-Caeau. Each apartment is entirely self-contained and private, but the garden is a shared space. The layout works well for guests who may want to book both apartments together for a larger group or two families holidaying side by side.
And location? Spot on. You’re in Menai Bridge, which means pubs, cafés, restaurants, takeaways and independent shops are all within easy walking distance. You could have dinner at Dylan’s, brunch at the local bakery, and still make it back to the sofa in time for a nightcap. The Menai Strait is just moments away, and the Anglesey Coastal Path is close enough to join on a whim.
Further afield — though still within easy reach — are Beaumaris Castle, Plas Newydd, and a number of beaches including Red Wharf Bay and Llanddwyn Island. If you’re itching for mountain air, Eryri National Park is just over the bridge.
2-Tyn-Caeau is a smart, serene and beautifully finished apartment in one of Anglesey’s most charming towns. Whether you’re after fine food, peaceful surroundings or a base for bigger adventures, it’s a place you’ll feel lucky to call home for a while.
