Location

This modern four bedroom bungalow in the heart of Eryri is a walker’s delight, within easy reach of the mountain villages of Llanberis and Beddgelert, and the stunning landscapes of the Llanberis Pass, the Ogwen Valley and the Glyderau.

It is also close to the main walking tracks up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), including the Pyg Track, the Miners’ Track and the Rhyd Ddu path. Perfectly placed if you’d like to take on Wales’s highest peak during your next trip to North Wales. Pen y Pass, a popular start point for a hike up Yr Wyddfa, is around 10 miles away.

The cottage is a 20 minute drive from Caernarfon, home to Wales’s most famous mighty castle, also a UNESCO World Heritage site. The town is well worth exploring, with its walled town, cobbled streets and Georgian architecture. It’s also well worth paying the small entry fee to explore the castle, and don’t miss the Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum which is housed in two of the fortress’s towers.

You’ll find the supremely pretty Eryri (Snowdonia) mountain village of Beddgelert around 30 minutes south of modern four bedroom bungalow in the heart of Eryri. Beddgelert is a great place to potter about, and maybe even take a picnic to enjoy on the riverbank. There are some great family-friendly walks around the village, and ample opportunities for post-ramble refreshments.

If you fancy exploring off the Welsh mainland for the day, Ynys Môn / the Isle of Anglesey is just a short hop across the Menai Bridge from nearby Bangor. Around a third of the island is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasting spectacular coastal scenery and beaches served up with a stunning mountain backdrop. There are some great towns to explore too, including Menai Bridge, Beaumaris and the surfy village of Rhosneigr.

There are plenty of outdoor specialists in the area who offer activities like coasteering, kayaking, horse riding and gorge scrambling. Adventure seekers might like to take a high-speed boat trip down the Menai Strait with Rib Ride. The cottage is a 15 minute drive from the high speed thrills of Zip World at Bethesda.

If watersports are your thing, head to nearby Llyn Padarn where you can book in for paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing or supported wild swimming on what is one of the largest natural lakes in Wales. At Llyn Padarn you can also visit the stout ruins of the 13th century Dolbadarn Castle - a highly atmospheric fortress that played a key role in Welsh history.

If you enjoy a bit of nostalgia on your hols, you might enjoy a day out on one of the region’s heritage steam railways. Jump on board the gorgeous Welsh Highland Railway at Caernarfon for trips to Porthmadog, and Beddgelert. It’s a magical way to experience Eryri's beautiful landscapes.

We had a lovely 4night stay at this beautiful cottage. Very well equipped. Hot tub was amazing couldn’t keep grandsons out 😊. Private enclosed garden perfect for dog. We never met the owners during our stay. Surrounding area beautiful had a great day in Beaumaris. Only one downside was the fridge – food was damp all the time. Probably should have mentioned it at the time but it didn’t spoil our stay.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, and very well equipped with a nice welcome pack to start our weeks stay. We arranged a shopping delivery with Sainsbury’s which meant we did not have to waste time shopping – the postcode took them right to the door. The beds were comfortable and plenty of hot water for the showers. The open-plan living space worked well with plenty of seating for relaxing, watching the smart TV, and playing board games – our son loved playing some of the games that were in one of the bunk-bed rooms. The internet was great – the kids never complained once! The hot tub was nice to relax in of an evening. Seating outside enabled us to have some of our meals in the fresh air. The air was quiet. We mostly drove to places to explore or keep the kids amused – walks, beaches, lighthouses, National Trust properties, castles, lakes, and attractions for kids were not far away so our week away flew by. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Great facilities and very comfortable accommodation meeting all needs. Great base and location, only scratched the surface of things to do in one week. Will do all again. Children say was the best holiday.

Lovely well equipped holiday home with a wonderful secure garden for children and pets.
Location is great, lovely and quiet but easy drive to all main attractions.
Owners always on hand if required but not intrusive in anyway.
A wonderful week had by all 😊

This cottage is absolutely first class. Spent 3 nights here during a Snowdon climb and it was perfect to accommodate us luxuriously. 2 doubles and 2 bunk rooms, great for families, nice garden, parking and dining area for good mealtimes. Top notch detail and great location!

A really lovely modern property, well equipped and furnished to a very high standard. Comfortable beds and a spacious open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. Ideally located with Llanberis close by and Anglesey, Conwy, Beddgelert, Llyn Peninsular etc. easily reachable. A lovely hot tub to return to after a days walking was very welcome!

Just arrived back home from a fantastic 4 night stay at Adwyr-Mynydd. The cottage was perfect…immaculate, modern, spotlessly clean, all the amenities we needed, and had lots of space for a family of 5! The “Welcome Pack” was also a lovely and very appreciated addition on our arrival! 🙂 The location was perfect for visiting lots of what North Wales has to offer… including Llanberis, Zipworld and Eryri (Snowdonia). The hot tub was fabulous and very welcome treat at the end of a long day hiking! I would highly recommend staying at Adwyr-Mynydd and we would love to come back in the future! Thank you for a wonderful stay! 🙂

I am delighted to be able to write such a wonderful review for our cottage, it was just perfect and everything you could possibly need had been attended to by our kind, friendly and attentive Owner. Nothing was too much trouble and the standard of both the inside and outside of the property was outstanding. Everything was clean, bright, fresh and modern and the kitchen was fully equipped. The hot tub was an added luxury and even separate micro-towels were provided for it. The location was ideal for visiting the beaches in Anglesey on sunnier days and discovering the true beauty of Snowdonia. I will definitely be returning to Adwyr-Mynydd.
