Arrived to find a very clean and warm bungalow. In a good position with lovely views. Not as close to the beach as we had thought it might be, however, a short car ride took us to a very nice beach which also has a cafe serving home made cakes, hot food and beverages.
The bungalow has a lovely modern kitchen with ample facilities for cooking. The lounge has plenty of room and a cosy log burner. There are two good sized double bedrooms and a twin bed room.
The main bathroom is ok. Downstairs separate loo.
The garage houses the washing machine,
Plenty of hot water and heating as you want it.
Meg the owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with.
Nearby Harlech has a few shops. A decent premier store off Harlech beach,

We were both sad when we had to return home.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bryn-Yr-Aur. The property has been very nicely madeover, but we loved that we were still able to see it’s old bones in places. We booked because we thought our elderly dog Ruby would enjoy it there, but sadly we lost her just before the holiday, however it is an ideal property for dogs.
It has a lovely, big and secure garden and the beach is close by. The views from the property are superb. It’s also very convenient for Harlech and Barmouth, and The Victoria Inn at LLanbedr, which is dog friendly and does good food.
The house was roomy and comfortable, the kitchen had everything needed for cooking, the mattresses were perfect.
My only slight niggle was lack of cleaning equipment, just stuff like tea towels or a dish cloth or sponge to wipe kitchen surfaces down, and if we’d had our dog with us we would have wanted to hoover on checkout day, but that won’t put me off visiting again.

Bungalow was well furnished, equipped and spotless on arrival. Only 2 of us so plenty of room. Would be more than OK for 6.
Sunday to Sunday was easier on traffic.
Well located and plenty of local walks with ‘Mt Snowdon’ just up the road. We know the area fairly well having visited may times over the past 20 years and usually have mountain bikes with us.This year was first time without bikes.
The owner Meg is local and just up the road in Harlech.

Booking process was seamless
Hopefully Bryn-yr-Aur will be available for a return visit again next year

We had a lovely stay at Bryn-Yr-Aur, we didn’t want to leave. The cottage is perfect, so clean and comfortable. We were so lucky with the weather and was able enjoy the garden and the views which are beautiful. Llanfair and surrounding area is beautiful, we will definitely be returning. Great communication with Meg and thank you for the welcome gift of welsh cakes and wine.

Had an enjoyable week at Bryn yr Aur, weather was fantastic and spectacular sunsets. Cottage was clean, but windows needed more attention to fully enjoy the views. all items needed for a weeks stay were provided, well equipped kitchen. Only issues we found were the very low sofas, very difficult to get up from being older ! customers, and a plastic shower curtain that was clingy!Meg was easily contacted whilst there ,to sort any problems, she assured us they are sorting both these issues out asap. Was lovely week away, our dogs had a fantastic time in the fully secure garden .thank you Meg ..lovely welcome pack too . Flowers, eggs, Prosecco,Welsh cakes . 😃

What a lovely place ❤️ Stunning views, beautiful gardens and cozy inside. Just back from a 6 night stay. Peaceful , tranquil and relaxing. This place is well equipped for everything you need from a great kitchen to sunloungers for the gorgeous gardens. Spectacular views from all sides. Easy to get into Harlech and other surrounding places. Great wi fi, smart TV and a log fire if needed. Very close to beach. Walkable but we drove down and parked next to beach. A lovely relaxing stay. Highly reccommended x

Can’t thank Meg enough for the letting us stay in her fantastic Harlech cottage. Location is perfect, with beaches within walking distance, and the garden for the dogs was ideal, and delicious fresh cream scones at the near by Slate Mines Cafe, Also thanks to Katie for her help and and the rest of the Dioni staff for making things so easy to book. Look forward to our next visit to Bryn Yr Aur. Trev, Shirl ,Terry and Chris and the dogs

Excellent cottage, great location for fabulous beach via the steps. Views of sea and mountains from cottage and garden fantastic – the brochure description of the cottage should make more of that! We were fortunate enough to have a couple of clear nights and the dark sky made for great star gazing and the Milky Way was clearly visible. Great sunset views too.

This was our second visit to Bryn yr Aur ,we had a lovely stay the sea views and sunsets from Llanfair are amazing. The weather was not kind to us this holiday but didn’t prevent us from enjoying the break. Highly recommend a visit to Y Grocer for shopping. Harlech beach is beautiful views of Llyn peninsula and Yr Wyddfa on a clear day.

5 star holiday, we absolutley loved it. The cottage was beautiful, really clean and lots of space for our family (2 adults, a 3 year old, a baby and a dog).
The garden and outside table were fantastic and we had lots of evening meals together in the sun.
Great walk for the dog down the road onto an enormous beach, but the steps were a bit steep for our little girl but thanks to the very helpful host, we found a beach at Llandanwg where the car park is right next to the beach and its a1 minute drive from the house.
I highly recommend the family farm (again, just a 1 minute drive), lovely coffee and lunches and plenty to keep our daughter busy for hours.
We also spent the day at Greenwood Park and could take the dog there too.
We had beach days, went to Barmouth for an icecream and fish and chips on the beach after the arcades, went into Harlech and round the castle and the local shop to get some good coffee and wine.
There’s so much to do locally, or if we wanted to relax at the cottage then there was lots of space and we could all watch a film together or play games in the living room.
I highly recommend this place, it was absolutely perfect for a family holiday, but I’d also go with the girls for a nice break.
Thanks so much for a great stay, Meg

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Bryn-Yr-Aur. It is a really really nice cottage, gardens on three sides of the property which the two pups enjoyed exploring/running around, private parking, and amazing views. It had every needed, welcome pack on hand as well. And most of all it was soooo soooo quiet and peaceful, all that needed was amazing sunshine which we got. Great location to head off on walks, not far from Harlech Castle, Harlech beach, etc. From booking, arriving to holiday finish, everything was so easy and stress free, good communication from Dioni and Meg (owner). It is definitely a place where you can unwind and relax, I will definitely go back x

Just got back from a really lovely family week away at Meg`s beautiful cottage as everyone else has said the cottage is great for all local villages and towns it was spotless well equipped and everything was there that you would need for a week away, great walks for our little dog and even our 16yr old city boy loved the tranquil peace and quite.
we have already rebooked for July and so looking forward to staying at Bryn-Yr- Aur …. Had a call with the owner Meg and she is lovely and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay and if we needed anything to let her know what more can you ask for.

Brilliant holiday at Bryn yr Aur , very comfortable and well equipped the garden is beautiful around the bungalow with amazing views. Very central to Harlech and Barmouth and Portmeirion village a short drive away. Will definitely want a return visit.

Bryn-Yr-Aur is a very comfortable and stylish bungalow with lovely views from every window and parts of the garden. Even more spectacular views are just a few paces away. This part of the Welsh coast with its truly huge sandy river mouths and sandy beaches has some of the most amazing views in the UK – stretching across the sea to the mountains of Snowdonia and the hilly Llyn peninsula. The garden at the property is fabulous for children and the solid wooden benches distributed at every viewpoint are inviting and there is loads of parking. Harlech is a short drive or at most a 2 mile walk away and its wonderful new Harlech Grocery (Y Grocer) make a huge difference to easy local food shopping from this house. A wonderful stay in a comfy and well appointed house.

Bryn Yr Aur was great for our stay. Perfect position for beaches, lovely views and within walking distance of Harlech. The property was spacious and comfortable, the gardens suitable for dogs, plus lots of off road parking.
Meg welcomed us with a gift voucher to spend in Y Groser Harlech, which was so kind and generous, we treated ourselves to some delicious Welsh produce with it. Thanks again Meg! We would definitely return to this lovely cottage.

We have just enjoyed a week at Bryn-yr-Ayr. The location of the cottage is stunning with sea views from several rooms and the garden. Watching the sunset from the seating area in the garden was breathtaking. The beach and Harlech are a short walk from the cottage. The large enclosed garden was excellent for our boys to play football and run around. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and thank Meg for her thoughtful text to check everything was ok and the delicious cake left for us.

This cottage exceeded our expectations. We were very lucky with the weather, which helped us enjoy the (3) gardens. The cottage is clean, spacious and comfortable. The views from all the windows were beautiful and eating outside in the evening sun was lovely. There was also secure storage for our bikes.
The walk to the beach was a bit longer and steeper than expected but so worth it.
We will be booking again. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Ursula Roberts
Lovely cosy cottage with all you need. Beautiful views all around. Beach is stunning and unspoilt. Very safe for children. The path to walk to the beach is very steep so not for everyone, but it’s only a very short drive to the car park. Lovely holiday place.

We had a great week staying at Bryn-Yr-Aur. Such a homely cottage, plenty of room for us all, well appointed kitchen, the garage/ utility space was great extra space for beach things, foot wear etc. With having 2 teenagers having good WiFi was a must & we didn’t experience any issues. The large gardens had all day sun, great secure space for our dog, felt very private, fixed seating to enjoy the views, big outdoor table with seating we ate most of our meals from with fantastic views. In walking distance less than 1km to a very quiet beach, down a steep path, great for our older kids, and to take the dog for walks. A lovely walk to Harlech, with the castle, few shops, cafes. We also walk out of the village towards the hills behind, again beautiful views & so quiet. The weather was hot while we were there, so didn’t venture too far from the cottage, local beach & surrounding area, but as it’s in such a beautiful location it worked for us. We would return sometime…hopefully in near future. Meg messaged us pre arrival, to let us know if needed anything to let her know.

Excellent location, views from all 3 of the spacious bedrooms as well as both aspects from the lounge. Various fixed seating to allow you to find a sunny or shady spot. Ideal for watching the stunning sunsets over the headland.
Large garden for our dogs to play in and secure enough for our Collie dogs, although smaller more inquisitive doggies may find a gap or two to squeeze through. Lovely kitchen too. I needed to ask the owner a question and received a speedy response. Lots of places to walk (some quite steep walks), we didn’t need to use our car at all during our stay.

Just wanted to say we had a fabulous week at this cottage. Very clean, spacious and well equipped. Great location for exploring and it has beautiful views from the garden. Hope to visit again sometime. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Just returned from a wonderful much needed family holiday. The cottage was clean, spacious and comfortable with everything included that we could have thought of. The garden was fabulous. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed herself. The garage/shed was a welcome bonus. Ample car parking space for two large cars. The views were to die for. Unbelievable. Sun in the garden all day. Had bbq several nights watching the sun go down. Walk into Harlech was lovely with coffee and cakes on arrival. We were so lucky with the weather, we went to Barmouth beach, Criccieth, Borth Y Gest, Portmerion to name a few.
Meg was a great host and always available if needed via phone. She txt us on the morning of our arrival with a welcome message. Thank you. Would love to come again.

We had a wonderful week, bbq nearly every evening finished with a leisurely stroll to Harlech, the weather was very kind which made the best of the garden and views, we found the bungalow comfortable and spacious. The surrounding beaches are fabulous for dog walking it is one of our favourite areas in north Wales. Thank you Meg for the Welsh cakes and milk, and for being accommodating to our early arrival..we would like to return sometime.👍😃

Ample off road parking and turning space. The owners even sent a welcome message which was so refreshing and added to the experience. Hope to return again absolutely loved it.

We have just returned from Bryn-Yr-Aur. What can I say except this place is fantastic. There is everything you need and more within the property and the views from the property are amazing. An excellent stay! The bungalow is beautiful and has everything you’d need. The views from the gardens and bungalow are fantastic with a wonderful sunset to witness every night. A walk to Harlech is doable with a small hill to tackle on the way back but no problem for most at all.
Meg was a fantastic host and was on hand (via phone) for any problems. 10/10 thank you!
