Ground Floor Barn Conversion | Bryncaled

X4
Near Beach
Criccieth

Bryncaled is a two bedroom ground floor barn conversion near Chwilog a beautiful and rural part of the Llyn peninsula. The sun was shining and the neighbouring farmer was haymaking when we visited the cottage, so I think we saw it at its idyllic best. It’s central location allows guest to enjoy the mountains of Snowdonia as well as the famous sandy beaches of the Llyn Peninsula.

Recently renovated this old stone cottage has been well designed and laid out. Its original stone exterior belies the up to date facilities within. A large bright kitchen-diner boasts a modern fully fitted kitchen as well as fantastic views over the surrounding fields and the mountains beyond.

The lounge is equally spacious. A comfortable 3 piece suite faces onto a renovated stone fireplace and chimney breast The original wooden beams and real wood flooring adds character and warmth to the room.

The adjoining hallway leads initially to the bathroom. Well laid out once again, with a shower over bath. Two bedrooms in total. One twin and one double. So perfect for small families but the price means it’s not unreasonable for two.

Location

There is one farmhouse nearby but apart from that, this ground floor barn conversion is surrounded by green fields on all sides. The area is a stronghold for the Welsh language and the cottage offers a true taste of rural Wales. The village of Chwilog is just over a mile away. The village has one pub, The Madryn, a post office and a small corner shop for papers, etc.

The popular harbour town of Pwllheli and its boating marina is 5 miles away and the very fashionable seaside town of Abersoch a little further on again. These seaside destinations are a must for all guests naturally. (Don’t forget to try the ice cream at ‘Cadwaladers’ when you get to Criccieth.) But the real advantage of staying in this cottage is the fact that the mountains of Snowdonia are also so accessible. Snowdon itself is only a short drive away and the area now offers an abundance of activities for all. Centres for white water rafting, mountain biking, and rock climbing are fast making Snowdonia the place for adrenaline junkies.

More leisurely and cultural pastimes are also available naturally. The area is littered with historic monuments and castles. Criccieth is the nearest, with Caernarfon and Conwy castle all within an hour's drive. The gardens at Bodnant are also well worth a visit for visitors to this ground floor barn conversion, as are the art galleries in Llanbedrog and Llangefni.

Amazing, lovely cottage in a stunning location. The property was exceptionally clean and well equipped. The barn conversion itself has also been carried out to a very high standard. Large grassed area to the rear that is private and not overlooked. Perfect base for exploring Llyn and Snowdonia.

Beautiful spot. Quiet clean and spacious. Indoor and outdoor spaces for families and adults alike. Fab local community pub about 20 mins walk. Local wildlife and fauna a delight. Well sited for all areas of North Wales for plenty of different activities.

This was our 5th stay at Bryn Caled which says it all. Perfect base for a holiday… quiet and peaceful. The cottage is clean, spacious and comfortable and there are so many great places to visit nearby.
Dioni are very efficient with great communication.

We had an absolutely lovely stay – we felt like we were at home from the moment we arrived. The cottage is beautifully situated – so quiet and peaceful with lovely views all around and within reach of so many interesting places to visit. The interior is kitted out perfectly- lovely decor, comfy beds, all mod cons. Well laid out too – it was perfect in every way and the welcome pack was the icing on the cake. We really didn’t want to leave. Hope to return.

We have stayed here twice and both times have been fantastic.
A beautifully clean and deceptively spacious cottage.
All we could want was provided here.
Lovely secluded spot to watch the local wildlife from the garden.
Dark skies to starwatch.
And within easy distance of Porthmadog, Cricieth, Harlech, well the whole Snowdon area really.
We loved it.
Thank you.

Just back from a week on the Llyn Peninsula and our first stay at Bryn Caled, and have to say that this holiday cottage was simply perfect for us. Surprisingly spacious, well appointed and spotlessly clean, I would really struggle to find anything that could be improved.

Lovely views across the fields towards the coast and mountains was a real benefit as we could see what the weather was like and decide where to head for the day. It’s also nice and quiet, all we could hear was the wind in the trees, the birds and the inquisitive cows in the next field!

The location is ideal and just 10 minutes or so to Criccieth or Pwllheli if you need a quick food shop, and also a relatively short drive to some of our favourite beaches.

Highly recommend – already seriously considering booking Bryn Caled for next year!

Our 4th visit to Bryn Caled and it is a good as ever. Clean , comfortable, spacious and a well equipped place to stay in a fantastic location… very quiet and peaceful. Near to mountains ,beautiful beaches ,interesting towns and there are quiet lanes to cycle on. Friendly and helpful owners nearby if needed . Dioni efficient and helpful as always .
Can highly recommend LLanbedrog beach, Welsh Highland steam trains from Caernarfon to Beddgelert , Glaslyn Ospreys near Porthmadog and Seawake RIB ride to Puffin island from Beaumaris .

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location.

Nice touch of the welcome package of tea, milk, sugar and welsh cakes.

We loved the views from the cottage and its location was great to explore the Llyn Peninsula.

Had such a lovely week in this beautiful cottage. The location was great for touring around the area. The house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Would happily stay again!
