A modern upgrade of a historical property, this two bedroom barn conversion on Anglesey is a wonderful spot for a break on the island. Sleeping four in total, with a fabulous open plan living space as well as a private garden, Bwthyn-Cerrig is a great location to explore all the fantastic scenery and attractions that Ynys Môn has to offer.

Entering the beautifully presented stone barn through the front door leads into a single storey open plan living space. Simply decorated with clean lines and modern furniture, the space is bright and airy with a lounge, dining area and a well equipped kitchen space. The modern kitchen is laid out in an L shape with shaker style kitchen units finished in white with oak effect worktops. A deep blue tiled splashback is a striking design feature, and the kitchen includes an inset electric hob with cooker under, sink, dishwasher and undercounter fridge space. With a microwave, toaster and kettle on the countertop, the kitchen has everything required to whip up a great breakfast or dinner for the household. Next to the kitchen, a square four seater dining table with moulded plastic chairs is perfect dining spot.

The remainder of the open plan space is made up of a cosy lounge area. With a three seater sofa and armchair in a blue fabric, the corner of the room features a contemporary log burner sitting on a glass hearth with a patterned tiled splashback. It's a lovely feature and perfect for those cosy winter nights. With a side unit housing a Smart TV, there's plenty of opportunity to catch up on your favourite boxsets in the evenings, or to relax after a day out exploring. To the bottom of the staircase, a door leads into a modern shower room featuring oak wood flooring and decorated in a sky blue, with Victorian pattern white and blue wall tiles within the corner shower cubicle and basin splashback.

Sleeping four, the two bedroom barn conversion on Anglesey includes one double room with a king size bed alongside a twin. The twin room, located downstairs next to the shower room includes two wooden framed single beds, located to opposite sides of the room, with white bedside cabinets and table lamps. A bright white Scandi vibe wardrobe with wooden legs provides plenty of storage space and the soft furnishings of the room are in shades of white and blue, to match the wall colours. Heading up the stairs and built into the eaves of the barn, the larger room offers a spacious Double Room featuring a King Size Bed, and a skylight providing plenty of natural light to flood in. With a large wooden framed bed flanked by bedside shelves and reading lamps, the room also features a white and wood finished dressing table with a mirror and stool, along with a cupboard built into the eaves for clothes storage. The blue colour schemes comprise a bold bright blue feature wall complemented by paler blue to the remainder of the room. Bedding and soft furnishings are also in blue shades with a splash of pastel pink here and there for contrast.

Location

As one of two modern barn conversions on the same site, the property shares a driveway while having a private outdoor space. A pathway from the front door leads down to a pretty lawn area with a flagstone patio featuring an outdoor table and dining chairs. There is plenty of space for the children to play safely and for the adults to gather around the table for al fresco dining and drinks. A lovely spot with some dappled shade from the mature trees, this is a garden that's perfect for summer evenings.

With a rural location in the very heart of Ynys Môn, this two bedroom barn conversion on Anglesey is centrally located to explore all the island has to offer. With rocky cliffs to the north and the Menai Strait to the south, the island's east and west coasts are dotted with lovely sandy beaches and bays. Among Anglesey's top attractions are striking lighthouses, medieval castles, and surreal copper mines. Heading south to the Menai Strait, you'll find the towns of Beaumaris and Menai Bridge. Beaumaris, a coastal town with Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture is also home to the impressive Beaumaris Castle, a late 13th century fortress built by King Edward I during his conquest of Wales. With great eateries and boutique shops, Beaumaris is also the starting point for a number of boat tours from the pier taking in sights such as the nearby Puffin Island. Menai Bridge, further east, is also a popular spot for dining and drinking, as well as being home to attractions such as RibRide, providing high adrenalin boat trips along the Menai Strait, passing under the imposing Menai suspension bridge built by Thomas Telford in 1826 - the world's first suspension bridge.

No visit to Anglesey is complete without visiting a lighthouse or two (or three). The eastern tip of the island is home to Trwyn Du Lighthouse at Penmon Point and the northwest corner boasts the fabulous South Stack Lighthouse and Visitor Centre, as well as an RSPB reserve where the cliff faces are home to a wide variety of nesting seabird colonies. The west coast of Anglesey is home to one of the most magical spots in Wales - Llanddwyn Island. Accessed from Llanddwyn Beach at Newborough Warren, this tidal island is steeped in history with links to the story of Santes Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers. A number of walking trails cross the island to the fabulous lighthouses at the tip. It's romantic and beautiful, but be careful to check tide times so as not to get stuck.

Ynys Môn offers several family-friendly attractions that are worth visiting like Pili Palas and the Anglesey Sea Zoo, which are entertaining, educational and committed to conservation. Those with a sweet tooth should travel inland to Melin Llynon, where there is a windmill that was built in the 1770s. In an effort to raise money to reopen the windmill, the owner, a renowned patisserie chef, has expanded his enterprise by producing chocolate bars called Siocled and, more recently, Mônuts, which are mouth watering donuts made fresh on site that are not to be missed. Anglesey is an island with a laid-back appeal that makes a perfect starting point for a holiday in North Wales; it has plenty to offer everyone.
