Words are not enough to describe this absolutely gorgeous barn and its stunning views, we were there over New Year and the Christmas tree and decorations looked amazing. The views all around are outstanding and we were lucky enough to see the northern lights. The barn itself was immaculate and so cosy. Gareth is a brilliant host, so friendly and we had some great chats with him. We had some lovely food at The Victoria pub in the village and a great Sunday dinner. Nantcol waterfalls are a short walk away but we didn’t visit as spent everyday on the gorgeous beaches which are only a short drive away. Thank you Gareth and we are already looking forward to our return visit.

Really lovely farmhouse.
Beautiful home, in a wonderful location. The Christmas tree and decorations was a lovely touch, as was the cake!
Host was exceptional, will definitely look to stay there again.
Edward Morgan
Stunning location and Gareth was a fabulous host. The cottage was warm and cosy and well equipped. Weather was against us but still had a wonderful. Pub nearby and plenty of lovely walks
David
A beautiful cottage in a truly peaceful and tranquil setting. Ideal for pleasant walks in the area. Cottage layout is perfect for a small group. Owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Loved it!
David
A wonderful barn conversion with open plan accommodation perfect for a small family group. Views are amazing. Lovely walks from the barn itself.
The Victoria Inn in Llanbedr, a short drive or 45 minute walk, has great food and beers.
If you want peace and quiet in a home from home this place is ideal.
Host is super hospitable.
Anita
This is an exceptional cottage, with great views, comfortable and warm, immaculately kept, nicely presented and as others have said, a great host! Convenient for hill walking, but the village and Harlech are not too far away either. 10/10

What can we say except WOW! Cefn Isaf is just a little hidden gem. The cottage is beautiful and surrounded by the most spectacular views. We were treated to the most amazing sunsets each evening.
Our little Jack Russell had the best time playing with Ned the farm dog and watching the cows and sheep from the enclosed garden/patio area.
Gareth is a wonderful and caring host. From calling the day before we arrived to introduce himself and ensure we had his details in case of any issues, to checking in with us during our stay to make sure all was well, whilst still allowing us privacy to enjoy our stay
We absolutely loved this place and will definitely be booking again. Thank you so much to Gareth and family for making us feel so welcome and allowing us to stay in at your beautiful cottage.
Emma Howlett
What a wonderful cottage, location and host. We had a fabulous week. Gareth and his family couldn’t have been more welcoming or amenable. The cottage is very well appointed, and we all had a great time. There is so much to just minutes away, the walk to the waterfalls, the beaches are amazing. Thank you.
Amanda Bragg
Weâve just returned from a wonderful weekend away at this beautiful cottage. Its location is both tranquil and stunning. Gareth, the host, is kind, courteous and extremely helpful with excellent communication prior to our visit and when we arrived. The furniture and fixtures are all finished to a very high standard and were immaculate in their presentation. It was such a pleasure stepping off the merry go round for a few days to decompress and relax, just what was needed. We will certainly return to this beautiful part of Wales.
Winter Family
Amazing stay in an amazing location/cottage with an amazing host too. Everything from Gareth contacting us beforehand to check we were OK to finding the place spotlessly clean with everything we needed for our 12 day holiday. Ideally located for wandering and visiting the area (we used the Comments book in the cottage as our guidebook plus asked Gareth as well !). Ned and Tess (the farm dogs) were real stars too, so much so that the day was never complete without a visit (or several). Highly recommend everything about the cottage and Gareth too.
Kelly
Our first stay at the cottage in LLanbedr. Gareth (the owner) communication was second to non! Cottage was lovely with spectacular views over the countryside! 5*
Gavin Scothorn
What can we say? Amazing location, beautiful cottage and the best host weâve ever had with Dioni. Gareth was a superstar and couldnât help more if he tried.
The cottage was perfect for the 4 of us and our 2 dogs, just the right size and had everything we needed (even a welcome pack of bacon, sausage and wine!). Clean and tidy and what a view!
Will certainly be returning here (and fingers crossed for better weather!).
100% recommended.
Neil
Cefn Isaf is great location from which to explore the North Wales coastal area without having to travel very far. Gareth the owner was super attentive, calling in person on the day before arrival to confirm details and arrange items for a welcome pack, which was much appreciated. The property is very comfortable and tidy with all facilities needed. The surrounding area is a working farm and must be one of the best kept and tidiest in the country. Gareth looked in on us again post arrival to check we had everything needed and was an exceptional host. I was pleased to find good dog walking routes near to the property without having to walk on roads, crossing the entrance and around the reservoir and into the Artro woodland above this, a loop of about 2 miles. We would have no hesitation in returning.

A really nice cottage in a fantastic location with great sea and countryside views, we had a very pleasant and peaceful week. Sunday lunch at the nearby Victoria inn was to die for. I can thoroughly recommend this cottage and would be very happy to stay there again in the future.
Jo Ward-Ellison
What a relaxing place to stay. Very comfortable and very well equipped cottage in a fabulous quiet spot. Great views. Very convenient location for exploring the local area. Just wish we could have stayed longer particularly to do some more local walks.
Edward Marvin
We had a brilliant stay at Cefn Isaf cottage, Llanbedr last weekend. Gareth, the owner, prepared the cottage beautifully and made sure we were comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for more and really enjoyed ourselves.
Many thanks
Chris Peak
Lovely cottage with stunning views all around! Directly from the cottage there are lots of places to walk and with Nantcol Waterfalls also within walking distance. Gareth was a great host, very warm and welcoming – would definitely stay again.
Shelley Sishton
Cefn-Isaf is a very special place to stay, made all the more so by Gareth and his very warm welcome. He is so helpful and quick to respond if needed, also sensitively leaves you in peace to enjoy this beautiful place on his working family farm. Very well appointed, the house is toasty warm, comfortable and homely with spectacular panoramic views towards the sea, the glorious hills and valleys all around and fabulous sunsets! Good internet connection too.
Heaps of great walks on the doorstep through ancient woodland, along rivers and beside waterfalls, there is much to explore if you didn’t want to go far – just stay at Cefn-Isaf and soak up the very peaceful surroundings. Good outside enclosed space for dogs to enjoy, and our two border collies were made very welcome and we loved all the circular walks we found from the farm – our youngest collie particularly enjoyed his ‘sheep and lamb TV’ too! Highly recommend staying at Cefn-Isaf and already looking forward to returning.
Colclough Family
Whoooh what a beautiful cottage in an amazing location. The views all around the cottage are stunning. The owner Gareth was very welcoming and our treat of red wine and creams cakes went down very well. The cottage is very well equipped for everything you need and extremely cosy. The area is lovely and peaceful and the cottage is a perfect place to relax after hiking all day. Top quality kitchen appliances. The bed was very comfy and we all slept like baby lambs! Proper little gem and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Helen
The views are a 360â feast for the eyes from the mountains to the sea. The air is crisp and clean. The barn/cottage is wonderful – probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in; the kitchen has all that you need to properly cook and crucially it has a full size tea pot (for a tea addicted group an essential) . Everything is comfortable (sofa particularly).
Gareth couldnât have been more welcoming or helpful. It was a perfect birthday weekend.
Thank you.
Kath Osborne
We have stayed in several cottages in North Wales but not come across a more welcoming and accommodating host – it really does make a difference! The local sausages, bacon and red wine were much appreciated.
The cottage was just perfect, in a super location with amazing views. We enjoyed eating out in The Vic and walking along the beach in Llandanwg and to the waterfalls. Enjoyed equally by Maggie (4-legged one) and our 15 and 11 year old.
We look forward to returning in the future.
Scott Tallett
We stayed here as a getaway for our ‘minimoon’ after getting married two days before. It was the perfect few days to relax in a gorgeous cottage. The owner Gareth couldn’t have been more accommodating – he helped me set the cottage up with some balloons and pictures to surprise my wife, some bubbly and glasses before we arrived which made it extra special. The cottage itself was warm and cosy, had everything we needed and had the most incredible views. The front of the cottage was secure enough to let our dog roam around without needing to keep an eye on her. We would definitely recommend the cottage and will be returning!
Diane McHugh
Beautiful cottage with amazing views, we had beautiful walks on the door step, which my two dogs love. Nothing was too much trouble for Gareth who owns the cottage. We loved our stay and will definitely return.
Alistair Carlton
As you drive up from Llanbedr to the cottage , you get the feeling that the location isnât going to disappoint.
And wow what a location , the 360 panoramic views and constant changes in the weather (very Autumnal) are stunning for any city dwellers who are looking for a change of scenery. The cottage itself is perfect for 4 people and 2 dogs. The quantity and quality of all the accessories and appliances are the best we have had in all our cottage stays. The location is perfect for all days out. We stayed for 3 nights and visited Barmouth and Harlech beaches. There is a lovely easy walk around the waterfalls and reservoir at Nantcol as you leave the farm, or a more difficult walk, up the Roman steps at the isolated Llyn cwm Bychan just 10 minutes drive from the cottage.
Gareth is the perfect host, friendly, funny and very helpful. I messaged him before arrival asking if there was a wok at the cottage, and lo and behold a brand new wok was awaiting our arrival. We had a minor problem with the kitchen hot tap and within 10 minutes, Gareth was on site to assist.
We will definitely return to Cefn-Isaf, and would highly recommend it.

We have just had a lovely relaxing weekend at Cefn Isaf, our whole reason for booking it was to go somewhere with a great view and not do a lot after some crazy few months at work, this cottage certainly provided us with that!
The views all around the cottage are fantastic, the cottage is so comfortable with everything you need for a good stay.
We did venture out to Barmouth, Harlech, Porthmadog and Criccieth all easily accessible from the cottage.
Gareth is a friendly host and once youâre settled the place and area around it is yours for your stay.
We certainly want to stay here again.
Thank you Gareth for sharing this gem of a place!

Beautifully presented barn conversion with amazing sea views.
Kitchen well equipped and everywhere spotlessly clean
Excellent for dogs with enclosed garden.

A very warm welcome from Gareth who was a really relaxed host

Will definitely be back to enjoy the sunsets again .
See you soon

Wow what a holiday and the break we both needed.
The cottage was everything we would have wanted and Gareth was a super host! Everything was perfect including the weather. The dogs loved it and the walks and runs from the cottage were pretty amazing!
Thank you for a lovely stay and our welcome meat hamper which was put together due to me being lactose intolerant
Michelle Peagram
Wow! This cottage provides amazing views wherever you look. It’s peaceful and tranquil, perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway but you also have the option of lovely walks or beautiful beaches which are only a small drive away. Perfect. Gareth the host was fantastic, very welcoming. The cottage was lovely and cosy with wooden beams and French doors where you can sit and watch the sunset over the sea and mountains. Absolutely beautiful. One of our best breaks with Dioni. Will definitely be returning to this beautiful place.
Claire
Spacious cottage in a peaceful location. The views over the mountains in one direction and to the coast in the other were breathtaking.
Gareth was a great host, answering questions promptly and offering advice when needed. Lovely spot.

A long way to come for our mini break away,
Cefn Isaf cottage amazing setting what can we say!
Perfect set up for our 3 dogs Rolo, Ned & Phil,
Lots of walking and relaxing, beaches were brill!
We ate at the Vic pub, Sunday lunch was great,
Morning walks over the waterfalls back for breakfast we ate!
And in the evening a relaxing drink, sat at the top with the view,
Amazing hidden gem, we would like to say thank you!
The amazing beaches were only a stones throw away,
The dogs enjoyed their freedom each and every day!
Beautiful setting home from home by the coast,
Nothing too much trouble for Gareth, our amazing host!!!!

We had a fantastic 2 week holiday at Cefn-Isaf. The most spectacular views. Perfectly located to the dog friendly beaches of Harlech and Barmouth and easy to visit the Snowdonian villages of Bedgellert, Ffestiniog and Betws-y-Coed. The accommodation was excellent, new, comfortable and everything we needed. Itâs the views and fresh air we went for and it didnât disappoint. Gareth is a great host and made us very welcome. Would go back in an instant. Thanks Gareth we really enjoyed our stay.

What an amazing week we’ve had at Cefn Isaf with our two daughters. The cottage is in the perfect setting with stunning views and just a 5 minute walk to beautiful Nantcol waterfall walk and streams to paddle in. Beaches short drive away and lots of other great places to visit with or without kids! Gareth was a fantastic host and the cottage was more spacious than it looks online. We miss it already!

There are lots of beautiful walks around the barn. The local beaches are beautiful.
The barn is lovely and comfortable and the views are stunning. We would definitely come back here.
Gareth is friendly and so helpful.
Thanks for a great stay.

What a brilliant spot for a few days away with our 3 miniature Dachshunds; the cottage was both spacious yet cosy, warm and inviting. The views from the cottage and garden are tremendous and add to the splendour of being on a remote hillside, we just wanted to get out and walk across the hills that we could see on the horizon.
Everything was provided that needed to be there, so settling in on arrival was straightforward. Gareth was informative and very helpful and hosted us well, thanks. The beaches at Harlech, Llandanwg and Benar were fantastic trips out and the nearby woodland walks around Nantcol waterfalls and the river were a bonus as you can walk there from the cottage.
Cefn Isaf is definitely our best cottage stay in Wales thus far and deserves a second stay.

Really great property in a fantastic location. Very comfortable, well equipped and with plenty of space. Views down to the coast were really good and location for beaches and hill walks is great. The host Gareth was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

My family’s favourite family-sized holiday cottage!
We have stayed in many, many holiday cottages over the years. Some as just a family, and other much bigger places with friends and family. Of the family-sized ones this has been our favourite so far. It has everything you need, and is in a great location (especially if you want to go exploring the Rhinog mountains, or Nantcol waterfalls just a few minutes walk away). It is bigger than it appears in the photos, but still feels really cosy.
Gareth was a fantastic host, too, popping by on arrival to check if we needed anything, and genuinely wanting to ensure we had an enjoyable stay.

What a wonderful weekend we have had! The house is stunning, very comfortable & has everything you could need. The views are beautiful & even the weather was kind. The location is great for exploring the area, so many lovely things to see. We will be back very soon đ

We have just returned from staying at this cottage in between Christmas and New Year. The cottage is perfect and the views are wonderful. Gareth was on hand to ensure we had everything we needed and was a very attentive host. We had a smashing time.
Sarah Kisley
Such a wonderful barn in the most amazing location – views are simply the best!
The barn had everything you could possibly need and was spotlessly clean. Gareth has a fantastic host – couldn’t do enough for you and was always on hand if needed.
Would return in a blink of an eye – roll-on next summer!
Michaela Rigby
A lovely cottage in a fabulous location. The views are stunning! Cottage is well equipped and in a great location for exploring North Wales. Gareth, the host, is friendly and welcoming and makes you feel at home.
Features such as a washing machine and large fridge freezer make things much easier for a longer stay. The cottage is spacious yet cosy and comfortable and the cakes are great!! Highly recommended. We will be back!
Stephen Butler
Cefn-Isaf is a lovely well equipped barn in a tranquil setting, a very special place to unwind and de-stress. The views are incredible and an ideal base to explore the surrounding areas. Gareth made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back.
Many thanks

My family really enjoyed our week in this cottage in June 2022. There was plenty room for us both and our 4 and 5 year old children. Gareth is a very pleasant and helpful owner and highly recommend the cottage. We spent most of the week visiting places between Barmouth and Anglesey. Plus the local recommended beaches in the welcome email are worth a visit too. Next time we’ll visit the local waterfall too!
Jenny Tait
We had a wonderful week staying at Cefn-Isaf.
The property is everything we hoped for and much more. We chose this barn because it was in a quiet rural area, we like peace, quiet and relaxation when we are on holiday. The barn is in a fantastic raised position with amazing views over the bay, hills and mountains.
Our host, Gareth was very kind, helpful and welcoming, he left us some treats which we weren’t expecting. The family live close to the barn but did not intrude at all. We didn’t have any issues but it was good they were nearby.
There is plenty of space to park and the secure garden area for our dog was perfect.
Inside the barn is really lovely, spacious and well thought-out with everything we could have wished for, the kitchen is very well equipped, bed comfortable, hot water on demand. We loved the style and the local touches.
Driving up the lane from Llanbedr is like going into another world, absolutely beautiful and instantly relaxing.
We enjoyed lots of walking and exploring the valley, woods and hills straight from the door as well as the fantastic beaches and towns.
We will be back soon.

Just home from a week away in this fantastic place. The cottage itself was immaculate and had everything we needed. The pictures do not do it justice. The surroundings are just amazing. The views from the cottage are stunning in every direction. We were very lucky with the weather, however I truly believe that what ever the weather, the views would still be stunning. The waterfalls nearby are well worth the walk and we enjoyed a lovely lunch in the local Ty Mawr pub, and an evening meal in the Victoria Inn. Gareth is a true gent and a wonderful host. He is there for anything you may need, but not intrusive at all. We have every intention of returning next year. Thank you for sharing your corner of Wales with us.

Our stay at Cefn-Isaf
We felt really comfortable as soon as we arrived. The cottage is lovely and in a
beautiful rural setting with walks right from the door and views across the bay.
We had some great sunsets and the light that fell on the bay was special.
It was a pleasure to meet the owner Gareth, he is a very thoughtful host.
We will return.
Megan Jenkins
We booked Cefn-Isaf for a long weekend getaway and I wish we’d stayed for longer! The property was lovely – very comfortable and cosy with everything you could need of a self-catering accommodation. The location was stunning and so peaceful. There is a private patio which is a lovely little suntrap with views of the sea. And very helpful having the enclosed garden (our dog enjoyed hanging through the gate trying to meet the neighbouring lambs!). There’s a excellent variety of surrounding countryside and coastal walks as well as a great local pub. Gareth was a wonderful host and could not of made us feel more welcome! We will definitely be returning in the future!

Simply Perfect!
After undergoing treatment for cancer for a year & with roughly another 5 months left to goâŠto say this booking was last minute is an understatement but Gareth was the perfect host, welcoming me and happy to help with any questions or additional needs I had.
The cottage is in an undeniably perfect setting-watching the sun set over the sea from the patio was simply heaven.
Everything you could possibly need is in the extremely clean cottage and the main bed was lovely & comfortable.
Beach & mountain walks were just what my Dr ordered (literally!) and the close proximity to both makes it the perfect location.
My little shih tzu enjoyed her time there too and she says thanks for my mini break Gareth!
We will be returning as soon as we possibly can thatâs for sure.
Les Newman
This cottage is a jewel in the hills overlooking the sea.I absolutely loved being there.
The views are simply stunning.
The cottage is perfect and unlike other cottages I would actually love to move in permanently.
The owner is a diamond who will help you with any advice and even bought us cakes back when he went into porthmadog.
You would love this cottage.
Kath Hayes
What a great place to stay. Fabulous accommodation, great host and views and walks a plenty. Having never stayed in this part of North Wales before we will definitely be back.
Highly recommend Cefn Isaf
Geoff Sargeant
We had a really lovely few days at Cefn-Isaf cottage at the end of January 2022. We were extremely lucky to have 3 out of 4 days of beautiful sunshine. We found Cefn-Isaf cottage extremely cosy, warm and welcoming and you would never have known it was cold outside once inside this beautiful cottage.
The peace and quiet was wonderful but then the views of the mountains and sea too make it a very special place. The cottage is beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped too. We cooked on two evenings and ate out at the Victoria Pub the other two nights (a really lovely local pub).
Gareth the cottage owner who lives nearby was very welcoming and helpful with local knowledge and only too happy to answer any questions about where to visit etc.
We found Cefn-Isaf cottage beautifully clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The beds (one king-size) were very comfortable with quality bedding and there’s endless hot water which you don’t always get in a holiday cottage. A very large fridge and freezer along with washing machine too. Everything you need to have a comfortable stay.
We will definitely book to stay again.
Thanks Gareth,
Jane and Geoff,
Mr Hill
My wife and I had a wonderful peaceful restful stay at the cottage, the views all around were spectacular, the cottage was immaculate inside, with everything you need to hand, and Gareth was a perfect host, a thorough gentleman.
Pete and Jenny Wall
We had a fantastic short break / long weekend at the beautiful Cefn-Isaf.
The bedroom was newly decorated and all the decor was great.
It is a spacious holiday home and our two longdogs lived the enclosed garden.
We had great walks out at the waterfalls ( literally minutes away) and the beautiful Shell Island . The weather was good to us!
Ravens!
Gareth is a top host and couldnât do enough for us! Thanks.
We are going back asap.
Kathryn and Peter
We have just spent a week in Garethâs beautiful cottage and wish we could have stayed longer. The cottage is well equipped with lovely furnishings and has everything you need. It is in a fabulous location with the mountains behind and views over the sea to the front. We walked from the front door, climbed mountains and enjoyed body boarding and exploring on several of the beautiful local beaches. Gareth is warm, welcoming and very helpful and we would definitely recommend staying here.
Anthony Leigh
We have just spent 3 very enjoyable weeks at Cefn Isaf and would have loved to have stayed longer! The cottage is very comfortable, extremely clean and spacious with marvellous views over woodland and hills to the sea. Gareth was a great host and could not have done more for us – we loved the weekly treats! The cottage is very well located for visiting many attractions (including lovely walks around Barmouth and in Snowdonia) whilst also having beautiful walks from the doorstep – the Nant Col waterfalls are well worth the short walk. Lovely beaches such as Llandanwg and Harlech are only a 10 minute drive away. We would highly recommend this cottage and will return in the future – 3 weeks was not long enough!!
Steve Chatwin
A beautiful cottage, very equipped and comfortable. The location and its views are stunning. The host ( Gareth) could not have been warmer or more helpful. All this made for a very relaxing 2 week stay.
Amy Knight
Lovely few days spent at this lovely cottage. Its perfect for getting away, the views are amazing. I loved sitting in the patio doors overlooking the hills and sea. It was qarm, had everything you needed. Gareth was really nice and helpful. Local beaches are great, we particularly liked Benar beach as when the tides out its huge and flat once you walk over the stones. Great for dogs . I would recommend calling at the co-op in Barmouth or somewhere depending on which way you come. In the village about 2 miles away is a good little shop for basics but worth doing a shop first.
The walk to the waterfalls from the cottage is nice, head towards the campsite, its ÂŁ1 each and well signposted. We would definitely come back as such a great area

We had a great stay at Cefn-Isaf last month. Set in a spectacular location with incredible views looking down over the ancient woodland to the sea and Shell Island, it was exactly like the website said and more! Wonderful walks for our 3 dogs on the hills and down on the beaches – they particularly loved the giant sand dunes at Shell Island! Gareth was very welcoming and the cottage had everything you could want. We would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a rural break in a lovely part of Wales!

Our family spent a fantastic 2 weeks in this great cottage. The location was ideal for us being so close to some stunning beaches. The beach at Llandanwg was our favorite, it has a little cafe, toilets, parking, sand dunes, rocks and you can even do some rock-pooling as you walk over the rocks to the beach at Harlech. In the other direction you’ll find Benar Beach just off the main road towards Barmouth, we found this place on our penultimate day and could have spent much longer! It’s worth taking a walk into Llanbedr via the footpath through the woods from the nearby campsite, from here we walked the couple of miles to the incredible sand dunes at Shell Island. Barmouth is only a 20 minute drive away for great fish and chips, arcades, the beautiful beach, fantastic views and a large co-op. We also visited Porthmadog and fell in love with the Llamas at Blackrock Llama Treking. The cottage itself had everything we needed, including a brand new oven and beautiful pieces of hand made furniture. Our 2 12 year old children had plenty of space in the twin bedroom and the double room was, again, spacious and luxurious.
Gareth could not have been more helpful ensuring we had everything we needed and he was a great source of information regarding walks from the cottage. I am already looking forward to our next stay in this excellent home from home and recommend it very highly.

We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage sons and a dog and we’ve just had a wonderful week staying at Cefn-Isaf.
Cefn-Isaf is a comfortable and homely cottage with wonderful views located near Nant-Col waterfalls and campsite. It is peaceful and in a great location for exploring nearby beaches and Snowdonia. You can do lovely walks right from the cottage. The kids loved swimming in the pool at Nant-Col – and having Netflix in their bedroom.
The owner, Gareth, is really friendly and hospitable and because he lives next door, is able to respond quickly to any queries. The wine and cake he gave us were also lovely.
We think this is one of the nicest cottages we’ve ever stayed in and we would love to come back. We would highly recommend it.

Stunning views and a lovely property. Great location for a peaceful break with lots of mountain walks at the door step and only a short drive to the shops and beaches. The barn is spacious and has everything you could ask for. Beautifully decorated! Great for the family and pet friendly. Gareth and family very welcoming. We must return soon with hopefully better weather.

My wife and I returned to this cottage to celebrate a birthday at the end of Jan. We had an absolutely amazing time. The cottage is perfect and the views are fantastic. The hosts were very welcoming. We took the dog and he had a fantastic time. The enclosed garden is extremely handy when taking a pet. Weâve stayed here twice now, once for our honeymoon and once for a birthday and we will definitely be returning again in the future.

Cefn-Isaf is set in a stunning location that delivers panoramic views of the sea, ancient oak woodland – divided by the Rhaeadr Nantcol waterfalls, and majestic mountains behind. A tranquil place that despite the winding road, is only about 15 minutes to our favourite beach at Llandanwg and even less to Ty Mawr Hotel – a great place to eat out. We found it the perfect base from which we could explore all the local attractions or to just chill out, enjoy the peace and quiet, and go for a walk. The accommodation was ideal for our family of four and comfortably accommodated an extra four people for dinner, whilst still feeling spacious. The sheep chess set was a great hit with our boys! The owner, Gareth, made us feel very welcome and was very prompt to help with any queries. We’d definately look at staying here again.

A superb self catering property with fantastic views. Comfy and quiet.
Waterfall walk nearby + lots more walks.
A great place for walkers and for those who want to recharge. Beautiful beaches a short distance away – would recommend Black rock sands (can drive straight onto beach and park up) + Borth – y- Gest which is a pretty tranquil village with a fantastic cafe and short walk round the bend to a lovely beach.
Nearby towns with amenities but if need a supermarket Porthmadog has Lidl, Aldi and Tesco. Plenty of buses and trains to take you to destinations to.
Would totally recommend this to anyone.

The cottage is set in beautiful surroundings, very quiet and private with stunning views. The stay was very comfortable and relaxing. With the beach and the national Park there is lots to do, Harlech is close by for food and highly recommend the As.Is Bistro.

Booked for a relaxing new year break. Exactly what we were looking for. Extremely comfortable, cosy peaceful place to stay with amazing views and walks close by. Lots to see and do within the area. If required places to eat and drink with a short drive. We didn’t as everything you need in the house. Ideal location for our son with waterfall walk close by with no need to drive and amazing beaches within a short drive. Gareth couldn’t have been more helpful, welcoming and accommodating. He is there if required but leaves you to your own devices if not!
Would have no hesitation in recommending and returning.

The cottage was comfortable with fantastic views. It was well located for walks in the hills and easy to get to Harlech and local beaches. Gareth was a friendly and helpful host. Harlech had a number of nice coffee shops – Cemlyn had a huge variety of teas to try. The beach at Harlech is long & empty at low tide with lovely views of the Leyn penisula and plenty of room for dogs to run around. Also Harlech castle allows dogs on leads in, The Premier shop on the way down to Harlech beach was well stocked and open late. We enjoyed the local waterfall walk, a longer walk up the valley from the farm and also the lake at the start if the Roman steps walk, but remember dogs need to be on leads because if the sheep. We had a lovely stay and would recommend this place to stay. August 2018

Had a wonderful stay at Cefn Isaf. The cottage was very comfortable and spacious. Gareth was a very helpful host. The cottage a perfect base location to allow you to explore both mountains and coastline. A visit to Portmeirion, Beddgelert, and Zip World are all well worth it. If you want to venture out in the evening for dinner, I can well recommend As-Is Bistro in Harlech (next to the castle), and NorBar on road to Barmouth, a perfect place to eat dinner and watch the sunset. Booking in advance is advisable for both. The Catch (next to Norbar) is a great Fish and chip takeaway, and also has good vegetarian options.
We will definitely be back!!

A view to die for! 2 weeks of spectacular scenery; mountains, beaches and historic sites.
The cottage felt like a home; lovely and warm and we liked the decor and furnishings. A rare find for a family bringing 3 dogs on holiday!
Gareth was very helpful. With the farm being his home too he really wants you to have a good holiday.I’d like to thank him for granting our requests, including an impromptu badminton court!

We had a relaxing and peaceful break in Cefn Isaf. The barn is comfortable and has a beautiful outlook. We enjoyed exploring the local area. We could walk directly from the barn up the hills, the views were breathtaking!
The local beaches are super.
Gareth was a good host, helpful and attentive.

Our week at Cefn Isaf was very enjoyable. The cottage was all that we expected. Always high standard and never a disappointment. This was our 8th week to the area over the past 3 years and all at Dioni locations. We are finding the area around Barmouth-Harlech incredibly enjoyable on the ground and from the air as we often fly gliders from Llanbedr Airfield. Gareth was very friendly, welcoming and helpful but never intrusive. Cefn Isaf also has almost unlimited parking and that may be helpful to some people. Wonderful walks straight from the door and beautiful scenery everywhere. Thanks Gareth and Nell, we will come back to your little patch of peace and tranquility as soon as we can. Thanks Dioni, great job!

This very comfortable cottage is located on a farm with wonderful views over the hills and woodland and down to the sea. A lot of thought has gone into providing a home from home for guests. We enjoyed our stay here enormously. The walks around here are as easy or demanding as you might want. The Nantcol waterfalls are lovely, and the campsite sells great ice-cream to reward you for your efforts.
Gareth and his family are friendly and very helpful. The welcome pack with Bara Brith and wine was just what we needed after a long drive. The village shop is well stocked and the two pubs serve food most of the day. I don’t always want to cook on holiday so this was a treat!
Harlech Castle is impressive and there are some lovely sandy beaches which seem to go on for ever. We don’t have a dog, but it was good to see that the cottage is dog friendly and Gareth has marked dog friendly beaches on a map in the house.
I would certainly recommend this cottage to people wanting a relaxing and interesting holiday.

Very relaxing short break in this quiet location on the side of a beautiful hill with lovely views in every direction. Great for walking, even in March on a drizzly day! Have been to this area of Wales many times, but this was the first time we had stayed at the holiday cottage. It was very warm and cosy and would definitely recommend to friends. Hopefully we will return again too! Lambs were born in the field outside the window, Nell the retired sheepdog came on walks with us. The owners were very welcoming and the cake and wine on arrival were very much enjoyed.

We had a great 3 full days at the Barn. We loved every minute, it is so cosy. Feel so relaxed, which is unusual for us as life is really hectic.
Thoroughly enjoyed the walks. You don’t have to go far, there are many right on the door step. The waterfall was a good start, before we took on the challenge of The Roman Steps. The woodland opposite was truly lovely and accompanied by our very own tour guide- Nell, who came calling for our dog-adorable! We missed her this morning…
Harlech beach & Castle are amazing. We also enjoyed the beach at Tredeth (I believe it was called just along the coast from Harlech) with a little quaint church and countryside walk.
We tried to go to Shell Island, however the tide was in over the road, so had to abandon.
The food at Victoria Inn in the village was amazing both times we went. We tried the other Hotel, however they had stopped serving lunch at 2-00pm, so by default went to the Victoria Inn again. The Café at Harlech Castle is also worth a mention. Portions good, nice menu choice and very clean. Our dog was welcome in both venues which makes life easy.
Gareth and his family are very friendly and make you feel right at home.
We will certainly spread the word to our friends and family.
Thank you
Thank you so much

Cefn-Isaf, especially Gareth with his wonderful border collie Nell, his sister and his dad made our stay near Nantcol Waterfalls and above Llanbedr to a special time.
The area around this farm is absolutely stunning, we’ve had only some raindrops which made the place only more interesting because the light was phantastic for taking fotos.
We’ve been to Harlech where there is a beautiful cafĂ© with ice-cream from another planet ;), we’ve been to Shell Island with it’s unbelievable sanddunes, to Portmeirion with it’s tiny architecture.
All the beautiful beaches around there, the Nantcol Waterfalls and so many other places to go which are all nearby made our stay to a superfast running out of time.
And Cefn-Isaf itself is hard to discribe in a 100% positive way

We had a wonderful week at Cefn Isaf. The cottage provided everything we needed as a family with a 3 year old and 2 dogs. It was more spacious than we anticipated and all facilities in the cottage were excellent. It was useful to have a washing machine too, ready to clean off after muddy walks. Little things like a garden hose outside to clean off boots (and the dogs) were really helpful.
It was great to have our own outdoor space that was gated off and separate from the farm. This was ideal for our little boy to whizz around on his bike, and was completely dog proof so we had no need to worry about our furry friends getting into the fields.
We were made to feel very welcome by the owner and his family and we were even left a lovely home made cake on our arrival.
The location was stunning. Excellent access to Nantcol waterfalls and riverside walks from the door step. The walk was suitable for our energetic little boy, and we spent one evening toasting marshmallows by the river while the dogs went for a swim. Very idyllic! There were beautiful views across the hills and sea and stunning sunsets. We were there during a couple of very windy nights, being up on a hill you are exposed to the Snowdownian elements, but we were more than safe, warm and cosy tucked up in the cottage (and feeling very glad we weren’t camping!).
We went on a number of trips out and Llanbedr was a really good central point for this. Our trips included Harlech castle, shell island, Cricceth beach, Coed y Brenin, Harlech farm park, Portmerion, Abersoch.
There were a multitude of local beaches to explore, both sandy and rocky, great for rock pools and collecting shells. We could also take the dogs onto some parts of the beaches, even in the peak of summer.
There was a small shop in Llanbedr and a couple of Spar shops about a 10 minute drive away but there were no large supermarkets nearby, so we were glad we’d got the majority of our supplies before we arrived.
We would love to go back to Cefn Isaf and would highly recommend it.

Cefn-Isaf was everything we had hoped for: fantastic setting, with wooded valleys and waterfalls on the doorstep, sea views, gorgeous sunsets and mountains to the back of us. So, we had a great week cycling, walking and enjoying the beach at Dyffryn Ardudwy/Tal-y-bont. Didn’t get to Harlech Castle this time, but that’s a great day out, in easy reach. The barn conversion is really well-appointed and comfortable, and in the evenings we enjoyed watching the French Open on Sky. Wi-fi worked well too. Everyone made us very welcome, but especially Gareth, whom it was a pleasure to meet and chat with.

Just came back from a wonderful few days at this lovely farm cottage. It is perfectly situated in Llanbedr which has excellent walking options, pubs and only a short drive to both Harlech and Barmouth beaches. Gareth and family were very hospitable and made us feel right at home. Cottage has excellent features including Sky TV and wifi. Is also located right next to Nantcol waterfalls which are beautiful. We have just returned from a week in Cefn Isaf. As others have said, a lovely barn conversion. We had taken 2 of our friends from Germany with us, and they thoroughly enjoyed both the house and the surrounding area. Our friends love to run, and there were many wonderful routes on your doorstep, and Nell the sheepdog, made a wonderful companion, and loved to come with us. A run along Harlech beach is wonderful, a long expanse of sand, and was solid under foot. Lots to see and do in the area. The house was fully equiped, had sky tv, fast broadband (faster than I have at home in South Wales), we love to cook, and the kitchen was well equipped. Gareth (the owner) was most helpful and greeted us on arrival with bottles of wine which made a wonderful welcome! There are wonderful sea views, and its an ideal place to sit and watch the sunset. Would thoroughly recommend. Thanks Gareth, so much, it was a pleasure to stay in Cefn Isaf, and lovely to meet you and Nell!

We found Cefn Isaf to be a well appointed and comfortable barn conversion with stunning views down to the coast with a host of bird life which could watched from the doorstep. It proved a good base for exploring the local coastline as well as great walks from the doorstep. We also travelled further afield to Portmeirion, Betwys-y-Coed, and enjoyed walking the Precipice Walk and Cadir Idris both near Dolgellau. Sky TV and wi-fi were an added bonus for our two teenagers and Gareth the owner could not have been more helpful.
PS The shower was fine!

Stunning views! Lovely barn conversion with open living area, which is great when you have two kids and a dog to keep an eye on. Spacious bedrooms. A good base to explore the surrounding area such as Shell Island, slate caverns, Harlech Castle, Harlech beach is a must! All were within a 10 minute drive. Plenty of walks achievable from the doorstep. Wish we could have stayed for longer.

What impressed us was the close fit between the description on the website and the reality–not always the case. The cottage was absolutely fine for our purposes, and the views and environment excellent, albeit the weather in our week was disappointing.
Our only real negative would be the inadequacy of water flow (‘drizzle’) fromthe wshower but I guess this is a locational issue.
We also struggled to find anywhere decent to eat in the close vicinity–very much pub grub level.
