This spacious three bedroom holiday cottage in Betws y Coed is bright and welcoming, with bags of light and space. Ideal for an active family getaway in North Wales, it sleeps up to eight guests in three bedrooms.

Sitting on the edge of one of Eryri (Snowdonia)’s most beautiful mountain villages, this modern, generously sized holiday cottage is perfectly placed for anyone who loves the idea of being able to walk out to cafés, shops, restaurants and pubs on their hols.

Surrounded by the big mountain landscapes of Eryri, and with a backdrop of the dense Gwydir Forest, the cottage has an almost Alpine feel with its attractive slate and timber frontage and steep gabled roof.

As well as being just a short walk from all that the thriving village of Betws has to offer, there are some fantastic walks and hikes and bike rides to be done straight from the front door. You could pass a very happy holiday at Creigia-Betws without having to use your car.

The accommodation includes a lovely double en suite bedroom (which can be made up as a twin room if you prefer) on the ground floor, so it’s ideal for anyone who has mobility issues, or prefers not to do stairs.

Along with that handy bedroom on the ground floor, you’ll find a smart modern kitchen diner with an electric hob and oven, dishwasher and microwave. It is beautifully presented, and well kitted out with a good assortment of pots, pans, crockery and gizmos.

The dining table seats up to eight, and there is also a handy breakfast bar with a couple of tall barstools. The views from the kitchen diner windows across the garden up to the forest beyond are just lovely.

The large sitting room comes with comfortable sofas arranged around a living flame electric fire and wall-mounted TV. Sliding doors lead from this room into a heated conservatory, which is a great place to sit and enjoy the garden and big landscape views.

As well as the en suite shower room which comes with the ground floor bedroom, there are a further two downstairs loos, one with a shower. A handy utility / boot room completes the ground floor accommodation.

Upstairs, you’ll find two large bedrooms, one of which is a family bedroom which sleeps up to four guests with a double bed and two singles. This lovely big room comes with an ensuite shower room. There is a second double bedroom, which again can be made up as a twin if you prefer, and a large family bathroom with shower and bath.

Outside this spacious three bedroom holiday cottage in Betws y Coed, you’ll find a large private garden which is laid to lawn with some lovely shrubs and big landscape views. A patio area is a great spot for some al fresco drinks and dining in the warmer months.

Location

The beautiful mountain village of Betws y Coed is the gateway to the mountains, forests and lakes of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Surrounded by the dense Gwydir Forest, it has an almost Alpine feel.

The cottage sits on the outskirts of Betws, around half a mile from the village centre. It is an easy 10-minute walk to the many independent traders, outdoor gear shops and cafés, pubs and restaurants in the centre of the village. Betws has some very decent places to eat. You’ll also find a good number of art galleries displaying talented Welsh artists.

Whatever the season, the landscapes in this part of the world are strikingly beautiful. There are countless lovely walks from the cottage, with some great circular routes to suit all ages and fitness levels. The walk out to the idyllic Llyn Elsi hidden in the Gwydir Forest is just one of our favourites. It’s definitely worth investing in a good walking guide if you like getting out to explore.

You only need to step a little further out of the village to explore some of Eryri’s best peaks including Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Moel Siabod, Moel Penamen, Carnedd Cribau and Y Pincin to name but a few.

Eryri is the adventure capital of Europe, and some of the region’s most popular attractions – including Zip World, Bounce Below, Llechwedd Slate Caverns and Antur Stiniog downhill mountain biking – are just a short drive from the cottage, in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Head a little further up the Conwy Valley from this spacious three bedroom holiday cottage in Betws y Coed to explore Zip World Fforest, Bodnant Gardens, Conwy Castle and Llandudno.

Porthmadog, Portmeirion, and Criccieth, the gateway to the Llyn Peninsula, are a very pleasant short drive (around 40 minutes) over the mountains. At Porthmadog you can board the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog heritage railways to explore the region by steam. There are lots of shops to explore here, as well as very decent ice cream, fish and chips.

Just back from a weeks stay at Creigia-Betws can not praise it enough, great location wonderful house and garden and I think the cleanest property we have ever stayed in! Beds were amazingly comfortable and absolutely just about everything you could possibly need. Lovely welcome hamper and even a little something for the dog. So thank you so much for all your hard work .

Stayed for 4 nights in April 2024. House was absolutely perfect, spotless throughout and had all the utensils/ facilities that you could need. The beds were fabulous, so comfortable. The garden is a really good size and totally secure for any four legged friends. 10 minutes easy walk to the centre of the village. I’ve no doubt that we’ll be back at some point. We had a brilliant stay.

21 July to 4 August 2023

We spent a week here last year and just had to return again for two weeks this summer. Everything about the accommodation is first class. The welcome pack and treats for the adults, children and dog is the best we have ever come across but it is caring nature of the owners that is also above and beyond. It was like staying in accommodation provided by your best friends. My wife fractured her wrist in three places during our stay and had to attend Bangor hospital for a cast. Shortly afterwards we found flowers and chocolates on the doorstep that had been left by Marian whilst we were out. A lovely and totally unexpected gesture. The location is brilliant, within easy walking of the shops and amenities at Betws y Coed. There are also numerous walks from the property. As an example turn left when leaving the property, walk down to the river, cross the wooden bridge and carry on to Swallow Falls. An ideal property for a multigenerational holiday that you will find difficult to better.

Everything you could possibly want is catered for in this beautiful property. Great walks on the doorstep, a short stroll to fabulous places to eat and shop, short drives to the most stunning scenery, castles and historic properties, a secure garden for Wooflehounds, space for everyone, all possible amenities, comfortable beds and relaxing armchairs and sofas. We had the best of times together as a family. Close by we recommend walking in to Betws Y Coed via Miners Bridge (a short way up hill) and down along the river, catching a Male Voice Choir if you can at St Marys Church, a drive to Beaumaris, Plas Newydd House and Gardens on Anglesey, Caernarfon, Conwy, Bodnant Gardens (and food centre!) and of course a stroll along Llandudno prom and tram trip up the Great Orme. We love this area and will be back.

Above all though, the hosts Marian and Bryn really care and want you to enjoy your stay.
They take steps to make you feel so welcome and cared for including welcome great communication before you start your holiday, welcome text and hand written messages, instructions on how to use appliances, a tasty welcome tray and exciting welcome pack for Barnaby with his most favouritest toy of all time!!!
Thank you both so much. x

Owners were always in hand to answer any questions before and during our stay. Photos don’t do the house justice. Amazing property in a perfect location. Welcome pack was the best we have ever seen. So many amazing walks on the doorstep. Zipworld a short drive away and an experience not to be missed. Also visited Lake Bala twice to go paddle boarding with our dogs. Local pub is also well worth a visit with great outdoor seating. Our second to last day we were also advised that the Alpine cafe was outstanding but unfortunately ran out of time to try it! Hanging pizza also well worth a visit. If you want to eat In everything you need is provided. We arranged for a Tesco delivery the day we arrived. We’ll definitely be looking to return. We came as a family of 5 adults and plenty of space for all. Even if it’s just myself and my husband we will look to book the same property and just use the Downstairs. It really is value for money

We had a perfect stay at Creigiau, a fantastic location and easy to get to.
The house itself is beautiful, maintained to a high standard and very well equipped. It has everything you need and more, everything was well labelled and easy to use. The girls loved their welcome treats, as well as the adults with our lovely tea, coffee and snacks hamper!
Spacious and comfortable, we really hope to come back again. Diolch yn fawr Marian a Bryn

Beautiful home to stay in whilst visiting Snowdonia. Suited our party of 7 aged 5-85 perfectly. Spotlessly clean, really well equipped and extra treats and gifts for the kids. Convenient to many attractions and beautiful woodland walks from the door including a delightful riverside walk to the village. Marian is delightful to deal with and responded to a small issue we had very promptly. Nothing to fault in this holiday cottage – we’ve stayed in many but Creigia is one of our favourites.

Creigia is a fabulous holiday home! Everything was better than description and the photos don’t do justice to the amount of space there is. Setting is idyllic, beautiful village centre within a few minutes walk. Lots of lovely walks for all ability levels. Great base for discovering all North Wales has to offer!

A lovely well maintained property in a great location just a few minutes walk to the amenities in Betws y Coed. The property was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The welcome pack was comprehensive with extras for the children and Murphy. The property is tastefully furnished and spotless throughout. The beds are large (bigger than the king advertised?) and very comfortable and the bedding and towels are of very good quality. Rooms are spacious and seating comfortable and plentiful. There was even a piano and guitar which was unexpected and great for the four musicians in our party. The information pack received before we arrived was very comprehensive.

Marian was keen to ensure everything was fine and contacted us by telephone during our stay to make sure. Just another sign of the caring approach given to all aspects of our stay. Attention to detail was apparent throughout with some lovely personal touches.

A most enjoyable week’s stay at the start of the Easter holidays. We loved it so much we are booking two further weeks next year. .. .
