This spacious three bedroom holiday cottage in Betws y Coed is bright and welcoming, with bags of light and space. Ideal for an active family getaway in North Wales, it sleeps up to eight guests in three bedrooms.

Sitting on the edge of one of Snowdonia’s most beautiful mountain villages, this modern, generously sized holiday cottage is perfectly placed for anyone who loves the idea of being able to walk out to cafés, shops, restaurants and pubs on their hols.

Surrounded by the big mountain landscapes of Snowdonia, and with a backdrop of the dense Gwydir Forest, the cottage has an almost Alpine feel with its attractive slate and timber frontage and steep gabled roof.

As well as being just a short walk from all that the thriving village of Betws has to offer, there are some fantastic walks and hikes and bike rides to be done straight from the front door. You could pass a very happy holiday at Creigia-Betws without having to use your car.

The accommodation includes a lovely double en suite bedroom (which can be made up as a twin room if you prefer) on the ground floor, so it’s ideal for anyone who has mobility issues, or prefers not to do stairs.

Along with that handy bedroom on the ground floor, you’ll find a smart modern kitchen diner with an electric hob and oven, dishwasher and microwave. It is beautifully presented, and well kitted out with a good assortment of pots, pans, crockery and gizmos.

The dining table seats up to eight, and there is also a handy breakfast bar with a couple of tall barstools. The views from the kitchen diner windows across the garden up to the forest beyond are just lovely.

The large sitting room comes with comfortable sofas arranged around a living flame electric fire and wall-mounted TV. Sliding doors lead from this room into a heated conservatory, which is a great place to sit and enjoy the garden and big landscape views.

As well as the en suite shower room which comes with the ground floor bedroom, there are a further two downstairs loos, one with a shower. A handy utility / boot room completes the ground floor accommodation.

Upstairs, you’ll find two large bedrooms, one of which is a family bedroom which sleeps up to four guests with a double bed and two singles. This lovely big room comes with an ensuite shower room. There is a second double bedroom, which again can be made up as a twin if you prefer, and a large family bathroom with shower and bath.

Outside this spacious three bedroom holiday cottage in Betws y Coed, you’ll find a large private garden which is laid to lawn with some lovely shrubs and big landscape views. A patio area is a great spot for some al fresco drinks and dining in the warmer months.

Location

The beautiful mountain village of Betws y Coed is the gateway to the mountains, forests and lakes of the Snowdonia National Park. Surrounded by the dense Gwydir Forest, it has an almost Alpine feel.

The cottage sits on the outskirts of Betws, around half a mile from the village centre. It is an easy 10-minute walk to the many independent traders, outdoor gear shops and cafés, pubs and restaurants in the centre of the village. Betws has some very decent places to eat. You’ll also find a good number of art galleries displaying talented Welsh artists.

Whatever the season, the landscapes in this part of the world are strikingly beautiful. There are countless lovely walks from the cottage, with some great circular routes to suit all ages and fitness levels. The walk out to the idyllic Llyn Elsi hidden in the Gwydir Forest is just one of our favourites. It’s definitely worth investing in a good walking guide if you like getting out to explore.

You only need to step a little further out of the village to explore some of Snowdonia’s best peaks including Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Moel Siabod, Moel Penamen, Carnedd Cribau and Y Pincin to name but a few.

Snowdonia is the adventure capital of Europe, and some of the region’s most popular attractions – including Zip World, Bounce Below, Llechwedd Slate Caverns and Antur Stiniog downhill mountain biking – are just a short drive from the cottage, in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Head a little further up the Conwy Valley from this spacious three bedroom holiday cottage in Betws y Coed to explore Zip World Fforest, Adventure Parc Snowdonia, Bodnant Gardens, Conwy Castle and Llandudno.

Porthmadog, Portmeirion, and Criccieth, the gateway to the Llyn Peninsula, are a very pleasant short drive (around 40 minutes) over the mountains. At Porthmadog you can board the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog heritage railways to explore the region by steam. There are lots of shops to explore here, as well as very decent ice cream, fish and chips.

Marian was a delight and so thoughtful with the hamper and the delightful treat bag for Florence (our little maltese). The bed was so comfy and the linen top class which at the end of a long day was so welcome. All the equipment in the kitchen was first class, the only problem we encountered was the over riding smell of dogs in the lounge which we closed the door and decided to occupy just the kitchen and bedroom which both were fabulous.
Lovely toiletries, all as nature intended and the garden was a delight to sit in.

A lovely comfortable house in a great position just yards from the village centre.
We had everything we needed and more for our weeks holiday.
The welcome pack was the best we have ever received, which even included goodie bags for our dogs.
Thank you Marian!

Lovely house that’s ideally located for exploring the Snowdonia area. The house is really well equipped (first time in 20 plus years of cottage rentals that there’s been a set of kitchen scales!), with super comfy beds and pillows. Very thoughtful touches like a welcome pack that contained some locally sourced treats and separate welcome packs for my dogs that included treats and a toy each. Excellent communication throughout and we were made to feel very welcome. I would highly recommend to families and larger groups as there’s plenty of space and the garden is beautiful to sit in and secure enough to allow your dogs to exercise safely, we really enjoyed our holiday there.

Lovely house equipped with everything you could possibly need. Thoughtful touches throughout. A ten minute stroll into town and convenient for trips to other places. We really enjoyed our stay.
