Welcome to Cwmistir Uchaf, a masterclass in coastal restoration where "farm stay" meets "architectural digest." If you’ve been hunting for holiday cottages in North Wales that don't make you choose between high-end design and bringing the dog, you’ve hit the jackpot. This newly refurbished farmhouse sits proudly on the landscape, offering a sociable kitchen-diner under vaulted ceilings and roof lights that practically invite the Welsh sunshine inside.

The interior is a love letter to the local shoreline. A coastal theme runs throughout the house, inspired by the vibrant prints of artist Dorian Spencer Davies. You'll find a different piece of his work in every room, each featuring the iconic beaches found along the Llyn coastal path, a perfect way to plan your next day's hike while you sip your morning coffee.

Through the home, eco-friendly ground-source heating keeping things toasty, with underfloor heating across the entire downstairs and in the bathroom, ideal for when you step out of the shower and aren't quite ready to face the bracing Welsh air. Follow the "tour" into the lounge, where a real fire is nestled into a massive original stone hearth, the ultimate antidote to a brisk afternoon walk.

Upstairs, you'll find all four bedrooms, each captured to make the most of those rolling landscapes and coastal vistas. The master suite features a king-size bed and an ensuite with a power walk-in shower, while another king-size room boasts its own fireplace for maximum atmosphere. A third king bedroom also enjoys its own en-suite. The fourth bedroom offers ultimate flexibility for your group; currently set as a twin room, it can easily be configured as a luxurious superking upon request. Whether you choose these or the flexible superking, every window serves up a curated view of the coast and countryside. While the aesthetic is sleek and modern, the property is built to inclusive standards with wide doorways and a dedicated ground-floor wet-room.

Location

Cwmistir Uchaf offers a rare trifecta: it’s a peaceful farm stay, it's near a pub (within a mile), and it is a stone’s throw from nature's best spectacles. You are just 300 metres from the Rhosgor shore, where seals can be seen all year round basking on the rocks. If you visit between September and December, keep your eyes peeled for the fluffy white coats of the pups during breeding season.

For beach lovers, Porth Towyn is a true hidden gem located just three miles away. Flanked by grassy cliffs that provide a secluded, remote feel, this sandy bay is a paradise for families, bodyboarders, and rock-pool explorers alike. After a dip, head to Cwt Tatws on the farmland above the beach - a unique lifestyle store where you can grab a coffee or a snack.

If you're craving total solitude, the Llyn Coastal Path is dotted with quiet, unspoilt coves just waiting to be discovered. For a change of pace, the chic sands of Abersoch are 11 miles away, and the historic "Land's End" of Aberdaron is 12.8 miles from your door. Whether you’re here for the wildlife, the local pub, or the art, Cwmistir Uchaf is a rare find.

Wow, what a place! Our party of 6 adults, 2 Grandchildren & 2 dogs had a fantastic time, lots of room inside & out. Absolutely beautiful house & grounds, children & dogs loved running around the huge lawn. All the fixtures & fitting are high quality, the kitchen has every item you’ll need & the instant boiling water on the sink is very useful. The beds are very comfortable & the bathrooms & en suites very clean.
I don’t have bad word to say about this property & the owners were very welcoming & helpful. They met us at the property at 4 pm & had a chat about the house & area, we hadn’t realised we needed to request a cot so after a phone call to Harry, he drove 17 miles to bring it over that evening.
We’re already planning another visit at some point, just a wonderful place & owners.

What can we say other than WOW! An absolutely incredible new house with the most amazing views. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly and the house has everything you could think of plus a lot more! The thought and care gone into each room is superb. Lovely area and close by a beach filled with seals.
