Situated in the heart of the beautiful castle town, Fron-Hyfryd is a wonderful Harlech holiday cottage with sea views. This newly decorated property boasts coastal views and is a stones throw from the shops, restaurants and cafes of Harlech. With two bedrooms and an additional room suitable for a travel cot, this is a great property for families or a group of friends visiting North Wales.

Stepping into the Fron-Hyfryd, a quarry tiled hallway leads through into an open plan living space. To the front of the room, a lounge area is cosy and inviting with a large comfy fabric sofa and large coffee table. A log burner is located on a slate hearth, perfect for those cosy winter evenings and a TV, which is ideal for nights in. Tucked away to the rear of the room, a farmhouse dining table is located in nook near the window. It's a lovely spot for gathering at breakfast or dinner time to plan the day's adventures or just to have a good old catch up. A doorway leads into a well equipped kitchen, with cream coloured kitchen units and wood effect worktops. With a large fridge freezer, oven with electric hob, washing machine and built in dishwasher, there's everything guests would need for a self-catering break.

Heading upstairs from the hallway, this Harlech holiday cottage with sea views includes a double room alongside a twin bedroom. The double features a lovely Victorian style metal framed bed situated between a bedside cabinet and chest of drawers. The blue accents of the soft furnishings add a splash of colour to the neutral but warmly decorated room. The second bedroom, a lovely twin room, includes twin single metal framed beds, alongside bedside cabinets and an open storage unit. The soft furnishings in this room have pale shades of green, and the walls are decorated with artwork depicting nature. With an unfurnished small third room upstairs, there is an option to bring a travel cot or small travel bed if required. Completing the layout, the family bathroom includes a large walk in shower cubicle, WC and basin with storage under. Turquoise tiles add a splash of colour to an otherwise classic white decorated room.

Location

The town centre location of this Harlech holiday cottage with sea views is ideal for guests who are looking for hospitality and attractions on the doorstep, without the need for driving. Although located on a steep hill which may not be suitable for those with mobility issues, it's a short walk to the high street and the castle beyond. Harlech has a beautiful town centre, packed full of historic stone buildings now housing boutique shops, cute cafes and deli's. No visit to Harlech is complete without visiting the magnificent 13th century castle in the heart of the town. Built by Edward I, this stunning fortress offers panoramic views of the Bae Ceredigion coastline, across to the Llyn Peninsula and across to the mountains of Eryri. A short distance away, the stunning Harlech Beach boasts golden sands that stretch for miles beneath towering sand dunes. One of the best beaches in North Wales.

With Barmouth 15 minutes south and Porthmadog 15 minutes north, there is no shortage of nearby places to visit. It's also a short drive to the Italianate village of Portmeirion with its stunning architecture and beautifully landscaped gardens. With the Eryri National Park within the twenty minutes, there are plenty of hiking options. The Rhinogydd mountains of southern Eryri are even closer, and much quieter than the honeypot locations in the heart of the national park. On top of this, there are options for mountain biking, zip lining and whole host of other attractions that make North Wales a popular destination to visit.

Had a fabulous couple of days over the New Year. The cottage was perfect for us and our two dogs, with log open fire just what we needed after some long walks. Beautiful area, a walk downhill to the beach and the mountains not far away. If you’re coming at New Year be prepared for the fact that places in the village may be closed and eating out difficult. Also, although the Lion pub is only a 15 second walk down the hill, they don’t serve food. But it’s a lovely pub.

Our stay at the cottage was amazing, we would definitely recommend to other families. Its a very spacious, cosy cottage, with everything you need in the kitchen to cook a meal and we had a generous welcome package waiting for us, thank you. Outside is a beautiful view of Harlech castle and the sea, there’s also sea views from the bedrooms. We experienced a sunset view of the castle, it was magical. Do be careful of the steep road to the cottage, my car didn’t cope well with it so we parked at the long stay car park and used the permit provided. You can walk to the beach but it took us around 25 mins, and theres a steep road to walk down and back up again on return. However, its well worth it as Harlech beach is quiet and sandy, with lovely views and it allows dogs. There’s a nice chippy, indian takeaway and grocery store right on your doorstep, great location.

Just spend a beautiful week in this lovely Harlech cottage. It was tidy, clean and well stocked, having condiments in the kitchen was a bonus. There is a lot of space to store stuff, and the welcome pack was such a thoughtful gesture. The beds were comfortable and bathroom modern with a good shower. Sunsets over the castle from the garden were spectacular!

We frequented the Lion Inn down the road, and Y Groser deli and cafe was our favourite place to shop – the bread was so good. I also recommend Bean and BlĆ”m, near the castle, for tasty lunch and awesomely good pizzas in the evening.

Harlech is a beautiful and friendly place from which to explore all that North Wales has to offer. We loved walking down and along the beach with its mountain backdrop with our dog. I cannot wait to revisit and would stay in this property again.

Ideal place to spend a few days to explore the local area. Very central just off the heigh street of Harlech. As the information says it is on a very steep hill but only a short walk from the main shops with a pub a few doors down. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and was clean and tidy. The info does say parking can be outside on a first come basis but we didn’t find this as residents put out cones to stop people parking. A parking permit was provided that allowed parking at a nearby long stay car park and parking in other local parking areas. Overall we had an enjoyable stay. I would say of Harlech itself that it’s very much set up for day time and long weekend visitors. The pub is closed Monday and Tuesday and most food places apart from the Indian restaurant are closed from 5. The dogs loved the beach.

What a wonderful stay we have just had at Fron-Hyfryd. The house had everything we needed. It was comfortable and well equipped. I love that there were condiments supplied, such a game changer.
I agree with a previous review , that the garden needed a mow but the views from there to the castle and sunset beyond were spectacular.
The house is on a really steep hill so beware! We managed to get parking on the road outside each day but there are alternatives nearby.
The house is in a perfect spot, 1 minute walk to The Lion Inn (great craft beer) and Y Grocer Harlech which is a wonderful deli and grocer. The fresh bread is delicious.
Harlech Castle is 2 minutes walk away. Well worth a visit. Also nearby are the Castle Cottage Inn where we had a wonderful dinner.
The owner’s and Dioni’s communication was excellent. Wonderful property and holiday.

We have just spent a fabulous 3 days in beautiful Harlech. The cottage is in an ideal location to enjoy all that Harlech and the surrounding area has to offer. Situated a few meters from a fabulous Indian restaurant and lovely bar, we couldn’t have been happier. The cottage was comfortable and clean. Really comfortable bed and a modern bathroom and kitchen. My only complaint would be that the grass in the garden was very overgrown, and it made it difficult to sit out and enjoy the fabulous view. We would highly recommend a stay at the cottage and hope to return one day.

Lovely, homely, comfortable, spotlessly clean cottage close to amenities. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here.
