Three Bedroom Holiday Cottage With Fantastic Mountain Views | Garden-Cottage

Tucked away behind fields of rolling green hills, Garden cottage is a traditional, three bedroom holiday cottage with fantastic mountain views. Dolgellau and the surrounding parts of Southern Snowdonia are perfect for a holiday if the great outdoors is what you enjoy.

Set at the foot of Cader Idris, mountain climbing is obviously popular here alongside outdoor activities like gorge walking, canyoning and kayaking. The market town has some great restaurants, cafes and pubs alongside lovely independent shops on traditional cobbled streets.

Being close to the main access roads to other parts of North Wales, staying here is also great for exploring the coastal towns of Barmouth and Aberdovey and getting to more mountainous areas such as Bala, Llanberis and Betws Y Coed.

Garden cottage wouldn’t look out of place in a Beatrix Potter book, set on the side of rolling green hills, it could not be more idyllic. Traditional inside, the open plan kitchen diner is perfect for getting together for those family breakfasts to plan the day ahead and in the evening for a hearty meal and a glass of wine. There is lots of space and everything you need to cater for your party.

The sitting room is spacious with that all important open fire to add to the warmth and plenty of seating with cosy sofa’s add to the charm of the cottage. There is also a family bathroom and utility room found on the ground floor.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms; a double bedroom, a single room and a room with bunk beds; sleeping a total of 5. All rooms benefit from this incredible views of the mountains and acres of green fields.

Location

The holiday cottage is situated in beautiful countryside. With a large lawn to the back, you have your own area although, there are plenty of fields and open space for you to enjoy outside of this.

The landscape of Southern Snowdonia is spectacular and is often referred to as ‘a walkers paradise’. Less crowded than the slopes of Snowdon to the North, the mountains in this part of the national park provide a real opportunity to explore the true wilderness of Wales. There are many mountain biking trails to explore too including the famous Coed Y Brenin centre just a short ten minute drive away.

You are very well positioned here to explore so many parts of North Wales with access to the main roads. 15 minutes North will take you to the wonderful seaside town of Barmouth - a traditional seaside town with blue flag beaches, fantastic restaurants and cafes, a promenade and of course a fairground with lots of candy floss.

Bala is a 20 minutes northeast and here you can enjoy Lake Tegid where they offer sailing and The National White Water Centre is also situated here. Another traditional market town steeped in history with lots of places to eat and drink.

Further west will take you to Aberdovery, a small fishing village which is popular as a place to spend the day of the beach or sailing and they have a couple of great pubs with lovely food.

Zip world and Surf Snowdonia whilst further away are no more than an hour and certainly worth the visit if you are in the area and looking for something different to do and located near beautiful towns which are really lovely to explore… Conwy and Betws Y Coed.

Garden Cottage was the perfect match for our family getaway needs. Surrounded by rolling green hills with stunning sunrises and sunsets, local walks through fields and woods, we experienced tranquility and adventure. The cottage is cosy and has all the basic requirements of a home. The owner was very friendly and at hand to answer any questions.

Lovely, comfortable cottage in a fantastic location. Very peaceful with no immediate neighbours and an amazing view. The owner was lovely and very helpful with ideas where to go. Would definitely go again.

We had a fantastic week at Garden Cottage – it was warm, comfortable and well equipped, relaxing and peaceful, and in such an amazing location, with wonderful views and walks nearby. We will be back!

We had a relaxing week at Garden Cottage. We used it as a base to explore Barmouth, Fairbourne and Harlech…3 superb beaches. Coming back to light the fire was a treat for our children. The internet was hit and miss due to the weather which wasn’t a plus for 3 teenagers but if you want a rural escape from it all Garden Cottage is for you.

Thank you for a super week in North Wales. Despite Storm Dennis, we enjoyed the cottage and the surrounding walks and countryside immensely. Garden Cottage is homely, cosy and traditional but with enough mod cons to make our stay even more comfortable.

A very homely, well-kept cottage in a beautiful, quiet location. Ideal for walking straight from the door, but at the same time easy 10 minute drive to Dolgellau – and good food pub at Cross Foxes. Highly recommend.
