Fantastic (second) stay at Gegin Faeldre. Beautifully decorated cottage, so clean and very comfortable – loved the Aga ! Donna is a great host – we will definitely be back.

This was our second visit to Gegin Faeldre, which perhaps speaks for itself. This lovely cottage
has everything we need and we enjoyed a peaceful and restful stay. Despite some wet and windy
weather, we managed to get out to some of the many delightful walks in the area. The hosts are
very friendly, never obtrusive and always ready to help if needed. If we return to this area, Gegin Faeldre
will be our first choice and we can highly recommend it.

We have just spent a fantastic week at Gegin-Faeldre, the weather was glorious, we spent evenings in the garden watching the amazing sunsets , the cottage is emaculate, very well presented. Stylish & comfy. I loved the Aga, thank you Donna & Llion for being so welcoming.

Just returned from our second stay at this lovely cottage and found it just as peaceful and clean as before. Donna and Llion were very helpful and we even had pretty good weather! We found the WiFi mainly works in the lounge area or the downstairs cloakroom so maybe a WiFi booster would be helpful to get a signal upstairs but other than that a lovely stay again.

We had a lovely stay here in June. The cottage has everything you could possibly need, is well furnished, stylish and comfortable. The owners are lovely & make you feel very welcome. I was a little anxious about the Aga, but the instructions were clear and it was extremely easy to use! I had read comments that possibly it would make it too hot inside on a sunny day but we had one really hot day and this wasn’t the case at all. Hopefully we will be able to return here again in the not too distant future. We have now had several Dioni cottages and they have all been excellent!

We have had a lovely time at Gegin Faeldre and happy that Covid rules were in place with a great deal of thought into their implementation. The cottage was really nice and very well presented. The weather was in our favour which is always good.We visited a lot of lovely places in and around the area , all of which were adhering to the Covid rules which gives you confidence to visit.It was lovely to come back to the welcoming cottage and sit outside to observe the fantastic sunsets and farm animals. The Wifi may have been a bit week, 2-5mbps (although you can get 6mbps in the small toilet) we had anticipated this so did not see it as a huge problem & were able to get Sky Go if needed.
We hope to return to North Wales in the future and the Gegin will be our first choice. Thank you Donna and Llion.

Just returned from our second stay at Gegin Faeldre. Donna and Llion are great hosts (thanks for the bottle of wine to help us celebrate our anniversary) and the cottage was very clean with all mod cons available. From the cottage you can easily access the many attractions and sights that North Wales has to offer. Our only suggestion for improvement is to purchase a wi-fi booster as internet did drop off on occasions. We will definitely return in the future.

it was a joy to come into a cottage that was warm and welcoming after a day in the hills. It was quality accommodation at an affordable price.

We were lucky to be able to stay for a week at Gegin Faeldre in mid October, just before the government re instated the lockdown. The accommodation was well designed, refurbished to a high standard, peaceful, quiet and very clean. With underfloor heating and the Aga, it was warm and cosy too. The farm is in a perfect location for taking walks or cycle rides into the nearby hills and it’s also close to the Mawddach trail. We even had mainly dry weather, so we could be out most days. We had a lovely time.

We enjoyed a relaxing week at this cottage. It has been beautifully renovated to a high standard and has a lovely distant view out onto the water from the garden. It was spotlessly clean and the owners were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again!

Just returned from a lovely 2 night stay at this cottage and couldn’t recommend highly enough. Absolutely spotless and lots of thought given to extra safety precautions due to Covid. The area is stunning and even though we’ve been visiting for over 40 years I’m still in awe of the scenery. Where the mountains meet the beaches, a little slice of heaven!

We had a wonderful week in a beautiful cottage. It was spotlessly clean and a welcome place to return to after days out walking the fantastic countryside and coast. It was our first visit to the area and we didn’t want to leave. Friendly owners and quality accommodation. We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely weekend in spite of the rain in your cosy,and stylish barn.We were able to visit portmeirion in the few dry hours we had,and a short walk around Dolgellau on Sunday.We missed the sign on the road,and were also not sure if we were at the right property there should be another sign by the arrow for the car park.The Aga was lovely ,but I wouldn’t want it on in a hot summers day. .It is a lovely area and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Dioni again,as all the properties we have stayed in are all superior standard

We have just returned from a lovely weekend in your cosy and stylish cottage.We a lot of rain,but managed to visit Portmeirion,and had a walk on Sunday with a bit of rain.The aga was good,but I don’t know if I would like it on a hot summer day.I agree there should be a more obvious sign on the road as we missed it twice,and I also like to look at the visitors book to see where others have visited.We had a fabulous break with beautiful views,and would love to stay again if we come to barmouth

This is a superb cottage fitted out to an exceptionally high standard. The Aga was a joy to use and the cottage was warm and cosy with a very comfortable couch. The warmth and comfort was just what was needed with the torrential rain we had. There are 2 points that need looking at though-
The rug in the living area is on the beautiful wood floor without a non slip backing so it moves and this resulted in me falling. We rolled the mat up to prevent further accidents.
The other point that needs looking at is the WiFi. The signal is very very weak. I managed to get the SMART Tv to connect to the WiFi but the with such a weak signal nothing would come down. All our devices kept loosing connection and the signal doesn’t reach the bedroom. This may not be a problem for most people and the rest of the cottage is just so good anyone who stays here will have a superb time in a stunningly well converted building.

Lovely cottage very clean and welcoming. The welcome pack was much appreciated. Plenty places to visit near by. Only fault we found was directions from Barmouth to the cottage were not very clear, we past the turning twice. Would highly recommend anyone staying here

This cottage ticks all the boxes for us. Lovely people and Snowdonia has to be seen to be believed.

Wonderful cottage with great views of the sea and mountains. Gegin Faeldre is a beautiful cottage decorated with great attention to detail. The Aga was easy to use and made an interesting challenge. The cottage is one of the best I have stayed in with quality furnishings and equipment. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and peaceful holiday.

A lovely and well equipped cottage. Even better in real life than in the photos! The view across the fields and out to the bay is stunning. We had a fab stay here (despite the weather) and enjoyed climbing Cader Idris. I miss the AGA and the puppies already!

My only suggestion would be to include a guest book in the cottage as it is nice to leave a note for the owners to thank them for a wonderful stay, but also good reading previous guests’ recommendations of walks and restaurants etc.

This was our fourth booking through Dioni and the standard of accommodation has been faultless every time.

A lovely weeks stay, weather fantastic which always helps.
Everything you could want in a cottage and enjoyed cooking on an aga.
Spectacular views from the front door and outdoor seating area, but not from windows(just to be aware). But that said, we didnt spend much time indoors as fantastic walks in the hills behind and ice creams on the beaches as the sun goes down.

Last week was our second stay this year which just about says it all.

A very special place. A beautiful, cleverly decorated cottage which, owing to the weather, we were so pleased to return to each day.

The cottage was in the right area for us and was well connected to the main roads.

We absolutely loved it and we will definitely want to come back when we are next holidaying in the area

Thank you very much for the stay in this cosy and beautiful cottage:) We enjoyed a lot and felt like at home. Cooking with AGA was an experience itself. My boyfriend fell in love with… the shower and I enjoyed sitting on the big windowsill reading my book. The views were amazing. That wooden bench outside is a very good spot to appreciate them.
Just one suggestion…when it´s dark it´s quite easy to miss the turn driving from Harlech(north), maybe one more sign indicating the turn from this direction would be a good idea.

A beautifully renovated cottage for 2 with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing week away. The Aga was great to cook with. Ideally situated between Barmouth and Harlech. Lovely walks and beaches close by. Would love to return.

This property is one of the best we have stayed in. It’s five star all the way with very tasteful decor and very spacious especially the ensuite bathroom. The Aga is simple to use! Would highly recommend it.

A lovely cottage high spec, peaceful holiday ,shame the TV could not get a picture told the owner said she had trouble since storm Emma with Ariel, would have been nice to sit at night when you came back in catch up on weather(though it was brilliant)also week of world cup & Wimbledon so had to go out to watch (not the tennis though)

A truly wonderful cottage in llanbedr! Fantastic spot with stunning views of the llyn Peninsula, spent many an evening watching the sun set with a glass of Wine! The Cottage itself has been beautifully restored and decorated and has a very high spec. throughout, it was such a pleasure to spend a week at Gegin-Faeldre and the owners made us feel so welcome, can’t wait to go back!!!

I’ve just come back to Somerset after a most comfortable and relaxed stay at Gegin-Faelfre. The cottage was so beautiful and stylish, I thought I had come to the wrong place. I felt very special. The AGA was fantastic. I would highly recommend staying here.

Great place, wonderfully positioned to explore up and down the coast. cooking on the Aga was so simple and the welcome package was a much appreciated treat.

We really enjoyed our week at the cottage, everything was spotless & very comfortable. The cottage is done to a very high standard & we will certainly be going back. The welcome goodies were very much appreciated too,thank you. We picked the hottest week of the year which all helped to make it an amazing weeks holiday in a beautiful area. I have already recommended the cottage to my sister & brother in law & they have booked a week in September.

A very well appointed cottage in a beautiful location. The furnishing and fittings were all of a very high standard.

Cooking with an Aga was a novelty but we soon adapted and came to like it immensely.

My only slight downside comment is due to personal preference.
The bed is wonderfully soft and yielding – however I (and my back) prefer a firmer mattress.

That aside, we loved the place.

We were really impressed with the high standard and comfort of the accommodation. The farm setting is lovely and the owners were friendly. Great area to explore – unspoilt beaches and fantastic mountain scenery. This was a cycling and walking holiday for us and we were lucky to have great weather.

A stunning cottage, absolutely beautiful, 5 star, I could go on like this for ages !!! Cosy and comfortable, with everything you need. Owners are lovely, we didn’t want to go home and will definitely be back. Would recommend

We stayed here from 1 March 2017 for 4 nights.
The cottage was absolutely lovely, comfortable and very cosy. Living in the busy city of London, this was exactly what we needed. Its quiet, great location, perfect setting and scenery.
The cottage is a lot more spacious than the pictures show. PERFECT for two people – any more than 2 people may be a squeeze.

My favorite was the cooker – I’ve never seen or used anything like it and I have to say that it was absolutely fantastic!! The cooker instructions/recommendation really helped and cooked our food perfectly (i’m very tempted to buy one).

Location is about 50mins from Snowdon mountain (which we trekked up via Miners track).
Harlech castle is a few minutes down the road from the cottage. There is also local shops, petrol station and restaurants close by so you’re not completely away from civilisation.

HIGHLY recommend this cottage for those wanting a short, countryside, quiet break.
For those wanting a stress free and completely relaxed break – this cottage is just perfect.

Visited here for a long weekend, the cottage was amazing, very high spec and made our weekend all the more enjoyable, we didn’t want to leave ! The location was great, easy to get to the beach, mountains or near by towns. The views were stunning and the owners were very welcoming. I cannot recommend this cottage enough and we are already planning our next trip back.

A really lovely cottage with everything you need for a long weekend escape. Great location for fab beaches and mountains and nice and quiet even though part of working farm. Owners were really friendly and helpful and we will definitely be back. Only thing we couldn’t find in the cottage was a potato masher so that is our only suggestion. Can’t wait to return.

Such a lovely stay here. We were shocked by how big the cottage was for the money when we stayed in October and it was around 6 mile from Barmouth and 3 mile to Harlech meaning we were conveniently located to go exploring properly!

Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a romantic break for two for a few days!
