Large Four Bedroom Holiday Cottage In a Quiet Rural Setting | Gelli-Gron

X8
Near Beach
Pwllheli

Gelli-Gron is a large four bedroom holiday cottage in a quiet rural setting. Sleeping eight, the key aspect of this holiday cottage is how spacious and spotlessly clean it is. The owners have been letting holiday cottages for a number of years and it shows. Along with plenty of outside space, it makes for a great get away from it all. It’s central location allows guest to enjoy the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) as well as the famous sandy beaches of the Llyn Peninsula.

The kitchen is a large farmhouse style kitchen with oak units and a dining table that takes centre stage of the room and provides plenty of seating for the whole group staying. Everything you need is here to be able to cook great meals in the evening and a lovely light room for those morning breakfasts when planning your day ahead. There is a utility room that leads off from the kitchen with a washing machine and dryer and a second, fridge/freezer.

There are two sitting rooms located on the ground floor. The first one leads through from the kitchen via double french doors making for a really sociable area when you combine the two rooms. The sitting room has two large blue leather sofas and armchairs; perfect for those chilled evenings watching a film together and a flame effect fire will add warmth in the evening. The second sitting room is the same size, but a little more private - again lots of comfy sofa’s, TV and log effect fire make this a lovely room.

Upstairs are two doubles and two twin bedrooms. Again, all rooms are very spacious and the added light from the windows make them feel even more light and airy. Lots of storage space and big plump beds, make them all so inviting. There is one ensuite bathroom with shower and one communal bathroom with a bath.

Location

The outside space of this cottage is a real selling point. The child friendly garden is enclosed whilst still giving you access and views to the fields and stunning landscape beyond which is just perfect, especially in springtime with the lambs jumping around! A patio section has a bench to sit out where you can take in the views and eat al fresco.

In terms of location, the cottage is perfectly placed to access so many parts of North Wales, including the Llyn Peninsula, Eryri (Snowdonia) and the North Wales Coast. The cottage is only 10 minutes away from the mountains of Snowdonia.

Pwllheli is the nearest town, 15 minutes away where there is a good selection of shops, restaurants and cafes. Its a great sailing town with the marina and harbour and has a weekly market.

Criccieth is 10 minutes away and is your nearest beach. A smaller town where you will find great antique shops and a really good selection of cafes and of course the famous Cadwaladers Ice Cream and Dylans restaurant on the seafront. From here you have easy access to Porthmadog where you will find all the main supermarkets as well as the Ffestiniog Steam Train which takes you into the mountains. A 15 minute walk along the harbour will bring you to Borth Y Gest. Portmeirion Village is also just down the road.

Of course, being on the Llyn Peninsula, you are close to Abersoch, the main surfing spot. The beautiful beaches and hidden coves of the Llyn Peninsula should not be missed. So many activities at Glasfryn Parc for wakeboarding and karting etc.

20 mins to the North will bring you to Caernarfon where of course you have the castle and more great beaches and close to Bethesda which is where you will find Zip World.

Within an 1 - 1.5 hours, you have access to the best mountain biking trails in the country, the UK’s no 1 place for white water rafting and incredible places to climb, walk, kayak, SUP - so many thinks you can tick off a bucket list here….

We had a fantastic week at Gelli Gron. The house was so clean, well equipped and spacious….. also very quiet and peaceful with lovely views. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and on hand if needed. Our granddaughter loved watching the tractors gathering hay and baling it . Great place to cycle from on quiet roads. So near to lovely beaches, mountains and steam trains. Our favourite beaches were Black Rock sands and Llanbedrog . We also love Criccieth and went to the Castle, Cadwaladers for ice cream and Dylans for a meal. Harlech castle is amazing and Borth-Y-Gest bay is very pretty with lovely walks . We hope to go back soon. Our 5th holiday with Dioni who always provide great service and very high standards.

We (two families with small children) stayed at Gelli-Gron in August 2020. The cottage was fantastic – spacious, modern, a good outdoor area and a great location, with easy access to the Llšn Peninsula and inland to Snowdonia, the north coast and Anglesey. The owner was very friendly and helpful as well. We had a fabulous week and would absolutley book to stay there again.
