Holiday Cottage in Beddgelert Near Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) | Gilfach-Y-Nant

We have just stayed for 2 nights in this beautiful cottage. The location is perfect, the garden backs on to the river with stunning scenery all around you. There’s everything that you could need in the cottage. The owners left us a welcome pack which was a lovely touch.
The village is lovely, we had a meal in The Tanronnen Inn which I would highly recommend. The landlord and the locals were so welcoming.
There’s lots of walks around, it’s such a lovely place. We will definitely be returning!

What a fantastic cottage right by the river. I was here with my wife on a trip down memory Lane as I stayed in Beddgelert when I was a kid just a few cottages down from Gilfach -y – nant. The cottage hit the sweet spot. As well as the cosiness of the property, the facilities were excellent and we would certainly plump to stay at Gilfach-y- nant as and when we return to North Wales in the future. We have just returned from a wonderful week in Wales, staying in Gilfach Y Nant. There were 5 of us aged 17 upwards. The house is situated on the edge of Beddgelert, a truly beautiful village in the heart of a stunning area with loads to do. The house is spotless, has enough space to not be on top of each other and is very comfortable. The garden has the perfect patio with views to die for and we spent most of our time at the house out there (weather very obliging for most of the week). A lovely wee basket of local goodies was waiting for us in the kitchen and we happily scoffed all of it over the week. Thank you! We had no need of the lovely fire but can imagine that it is toasty warm at other times of the year and there are basic starter supplies included.
If I had any minor niggles it would be a lack of some basics in the cupboards. It’s rare for there not to be things like salt + pepper, sugar or oil left in the cupboard (even during covid times everywhere else we’ve been has had these available). Would also have appreciated a bread bin to keep work surfaces tidy and 6 cups, 6 knives and 5 bowls for a family meant had to be on top of the washing up. All very minor though and would happily recommend the house to anyone and would very much enjoy returning ourselves in the future. So glad to have found this place and have made some very happy memories.

This was our 4th stay at this cottage, we love being based in Beddgelert it is a wonderful village and love being able to do many walk/hikes straight from the cottage. Many areas of north Wales that we enjoy visiting are only around 30-45 mins drive from the village so this is ideal for us.
As always the cottage is immaculately presented and has everything you need.
We will be returning as soon as we can

Another fine stay, great weather combined with beautiful surroundings. We kept ourselves busy with long walks up mountains, drinks in local taverns and relaxing in this superbly comfortable and brilliantly-located cottage

We’ve just come back from a week in Beddgelert staying in Gilfach-Y-Nant. The cottage is in a fantastic position being close to town but far enough out to avoid the crowds when it’s busy – it’s only a 2-3 minute walk to the centre.
The garden is a lovely place to catch the sun and sit above the river having a drink or just relaxing; the view up the hill at the back of the property is just beautiful.
Inside there is plenty of room and the kitchen is really well supplied. The beds are really comfortable and the bathroom is clean and spacious.
We’d throughly recommend staying here and the hosts are very helpful if you need anything.

What a lovely surprise to arrive at Gilfach-y-Nant cottage in the stunning setting of Beddgelert. We really enjoyed the riverside eating area in the garden and found the cottage beautifully clean, very comfortable and well equipped. Beddgelert is a great centre to explore Snowdonia from and there were so many fabulous walks around the village that you didn’t really need to use the car.
The off road parking was good to have although a little difficult to find. Fortunately a neighbour was able to show us where it was so maybe some clearer instructions would be helpful. Apart from that we would love to return again to Gilfach-y-Nant as we enjoyed it so much. Thank you

Lovely, relaxing week in this very comfortable and well equipped cottage. It is in a beautiful setting with the river at the bottom of the garden and Beddgelert is a great location for a holiday with several stunning beaches, Anglesey and of course Snowdonia all within 30 minutes drive.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cwn Y Gwynant and found the cottage to be comfortable, clean and well placed. The outdoor seating area by the river was lovely and the beds were very comfy. We weren’t sure which the allocated parking spaces were but found parking on the road easy.

Lovely cottage, everything you need, especially In the kitchen. Absolutely loved the location re the river and little village. We arrived with 3 small children so did travel out to find something to do due to the weather. We went to Barmouth, Anglesey and LLanberis On the train. In the summer It would be good sitting outside and the children could make use of the garden. Would go back. Never knew beddgelert was named after the dog named Gelert (children listened to the story with interest). I didn’t realise the grave existed else would have taken them to see it.

This was our second stay this year in this wonderful cottage, having enjoyed ourselves so much in the summer we came back for an extra week to see the autumn colours. We love coming up to north Wales every year for the walks, hikes and spectacular scenery and Beddgelert is one of our favourite villages so to be based there is fantastic (we have already booked for next summer!!) The cottage is well presented, clean and tidy, the kitchen has everything you could need for self catering although there are plenty of places to eat out in the area. The only thing I would like to suggest to the owners is maybe some coat hooks and a shoe tidy/shelf in the kitchen, although there are coat hooks by the front door we mainly used the kitchen door and after hiking/walking on some damp/muddy days would have been nice to keep all the coats, walking boots etc together in the kitchen rather than by the front door as this opens straight into the lounge…..but this is a small niggle and in no way detracts from the cottage.
Already counting the months/days till we are back

A very homely and well equipped cottage in a beautiful picture postcard village. Well positioned to see Snowdonia and the north and south coasts of the lleyn peninsula. Appreciated the Bara Brith,waffles, milk and tea bags. A very relaxing and comfortable stay.Highly recommended.

Just returned from a weeks stay in Glifach y Nant, Beddgelert and had the most fabulous time. A super cottage with plenty of room for our family of 4. We didn’t want for anything as its very well equipped and was in immaculate condition. The view from the decking area by the river is just stunning whatever the weather throws at you! Location is superb and an ideal base to explore all that Snowdonia has to offer. A couple of minutes walk and you are in the beautiful town with its quaint shops and of course the ice cream parlour which we visited a few times!! We had the pleasure of meeting the owners Beth and her husband who were very accommodating and knowledgable about the area. We loved it and have recommended it to family and friends and would love to return ourselves.

We have just returned from a really enjoyable stay at this cottage. It is nicely furnished and has a well equipped Kitchen. We didn’t need to use the wood burner, although our 4 year old kept wanting to light it! The River at the bottom of the garden was a big attraction for our son and the garden was safe for him to run around with a gate to keep him in.

Plenty of walks direct from the Cottage and a fantastic scenic trip on the Welsh Highland Line is a must. We had excellent Pizzas at the Pizzeria and delicious Ice Cream from the parlour, all in all the village is beautiful.

Hi, we are just back from a lovely weekend in Beddgelert. The house was as expected, comfortable and practical. The location is perfect with easy walking access to the shops and restaurants. Beddgelert is beautiful and has a lot to offer. The single bathroom was a bit of a strain for x5 of us but the rest of the house was well equipped. We had a continuous problem with ants in the kitchen. After a long day walking sitting in front of the fire was very relaxing.

Great location within a 2 minute walk to the village. Clean and cosy house, warm and well maintained and loved sitting by the river at the back of the house.
Ideal for families and couples.

We really enjoyed our autumn break here – the colours are fantastic at this time of year and it stayed dry, apart from one day. Cottage was in a great location – central to everything and with some great walks straight from the door. The cottage was clean, roomy, well-laid out, and well-equipped. Heating kept the house very warm, and the fire not necessary at all. Speedy wifi kept the teenagers happy. If we were to ask for anything more, maybe some salt, pepper and sugar in the kitchen, and somewhere to put towels in the bedrooms? While the coffee maker looked swish, the village store did not stock the pods. We also found the rubbish collection system confusing – perhaps a very clear instruction on when to put bins out would be helpful as I fear we missed a day. The village itself is lovely and has everything you need including a well-equipped shop, pubs and cafes. Kids enjoyed going up Snowdon via Rhyd Ddu, which is very accessible from the village – but be aware you need £5 in change for the car park as the machine did not accept cards.

We had a lovely stay here with our 3 children. The house is lovely, as is the village of Beddgelert. I would highly recommend, and look forward to returning.

Just returned from another wonderful stay here, in such beautiful surroundings. This is a lovely cottage to stay in with the rocky Glaslyn River at the bottom of the garden and many wonderful walks straight from Cottage.
Had the pleasure of meeting the owner Bethan who was very keen to attend to our every need.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Gilfach y Nant Beddgelert.The property is ideally located at edge of village the garden was lovely and right by the river which sounds fantastic.Well presented property we stayed as a couple but plenty of room for a family of six.Did not use the lovely log burner due to choice suffer from dust allergies other heating was available and it was lovely and warm.Off road parking very convenient you don’t really need to leave the village local store and enjoyed our food at cafe Conwy lovely home made food.Excellent pub at Tanyonnen will definitely go back.

We enjoyed our stay in Beddgelert and the cottage is ideal for 2 couples on a walking holiday. It is spacious, well equipped, warm and clean, with plenty of storage space. We would come again.

A few minor niggles – the fridge doesn’t have a rack in the door for storing milk upright and our bottles leaked constantly – hooks in bedrooms and the bathroom would be useful – the kitchen bin is awkward to use and small – more toilet rolls and a small bar of soap would have been nice.

An excellent choice of accommodation, superbly located, very well equipped, spacious and clean. A short walk to the centre of the village with all the choices to eat/drink so very convenient. No complaints whatsoever, we could not find the DVD Player but this was a very minor issue and we recommend this cottage highly.

The cottage as great, awesome location and very clean. Perfect to do loads of walking routes without having to take the car or just chill in the garden enjoying the great views.

Just returned from a lovely weeks stay in this cottage which for 4 adults met our needs perfectly. It’s well stocked and ideally located within the village to allow you to explore the many walks on your doorstep whilst also having the option to walk along the road (or river path) to a number of pubs and places to eat plus the a few nice shops.
Off road parking for two cars plus free Wifi, good standard furnishings along with wood burner all contribute to providing a comfortable stay. The owner is available and very helpful should you have any problems (not that we had any) which adds to your ‘peace of mind’.
This is the second year running that we have use Dioni and can’t fault the service they have provided. We are already planning next years trip.

This holiday cottage is in a fantastic location, all the home comforts were there. The kitchen is well equipped, and the whole cottage is so very comfortable and warm. The views from the bottom of the garden, where the river runs past are really special, looking up towards the mountains. We had to contact the owners during our stay over a small problem which was resolved immediately, thank you so much for that and also for the welcome gifts left for us. We will definately be booking this cottage again as it is by far the best self catering property we have rented in this part of North Wales.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage and it was well equipped. However it is a shame that the carpet has gone from the sitting room as it made it feel very empty and unwelcoming. A rug would make a BIG difference. The garden, especially at the front could do with some TLC to make it look attractive. All that aside it was warm and had all 4 adults could need for a comfortable stay.

We were lucky to have a gorgeous week of April sunshine which of course helped us appreciate the magnificent scenery of Snowdonia.
It’s worth staying in this cottage just for the view at the bottom of the garden of the river and the mountains!

Just returned from another lovely week away in this cottage (we had previously visited for a week this time last year). Cottage is cosy and welcoming and catered to the needs of all our family (2 adults, a five year old and two year old). We loved having breakfast in the kitchen every morning looking out at the fabulous views and snuggling in front of the log burner of an evening to play a game. Great location – lots of walks straight from the door – even though our children are young they are great adventurers and we had a lovely 5/6 mile walk one day down to the lake then up into the hills and back down the river to the other side of the village. We will defiantly be back again. Thanks for a lovely welcome and a fabulous cottage. X

The cottage was lovely, in a spectacular setting couldn’t beat the location. The only downside was only 2 egg cups in the cupboard , when all six of us had eggs in a morning we were waiting for a cup ! Plus only sofa space for 4 people which made it a bit uncomfortable on an evening. Also could do with another bathroom when it’s fully occupied. Apart from these small hiccups we had one of the best holidays ever.

amazing cottage, loved sitting by the river watching all the wildlife at the bottom of the garden, Beddgelert is a beatiful village with lots of lovely places to eat and drink, the pizza and ice creams were wonderful and the meals at the Hebog were fantastic along witht the friendly service. The owner Bethan was very warm and welcoming. The village is a wonderful base to explore Snowdonia, it is very easy to get around and there is a wonderful view everywhere you go. Could not recommend it highly enough and will definately be back

Stayed for a week at this beautiful cottage with friends. The accommodation was lovely, all rooms decorated beautifully and the kitchen well stocked. Free Wifi as well. The cottage is in an
Idyllic setting backing onto the river and mountains. Lovely garden and setting. I will definitely be returning in the near future. Situated in the heart of a beautiful village, lovely walks, shops and restaurants. Many thanks to the owners who communicated well and assured us they were close by if we needed their services.

The cottage was exactly as described and suited our needs perfectly,ideally situated for walking or driving from,we met Bethan briefly who is a very likeable person and keen to make sure all is o.k.,the cottage is a place we would return to and recommend to friends,our stay was enhanced by some glorious Welsh sunshine.

We have just returned from staying in this lovely cottage. Its location makes it a great base to explore Snowdonia by car, foot or rail. We enjoyed some lovely walks from the door and called at the ice cream parlour on the way back!
We found the cottage to be well equipped, especially for a family with young children and is very nicely decorated. There was a much appreciated Welsh cake waiting in the kitchen on our arrival!
The river Glaslyn running past at the bottom of the garden was amazing and as the rain fell the river got even more spectacular!
We will certainly be returning to this wonderful cottage in the future, thank you.

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage in Beddgelert . It ‘s very confortable en well situated in a little beautiful village from where you can walk for many miles in the beautiful mountains of snowdonia national park . That you can leave the car on a secluded aria away from the road is a bonus . Our kids loved the river on the backside of the cottage . The kitchen is well equiped and the house and rooms are spacious .
We would certainly return to this beautiful aria .

It was very convenient to be able to park right outside the front door but there is a separate car park at the end of the row of six cottages if you prefer to keep the car ‘ off road ‘

Bedgellert is a beautiful village and we were lucky that the weather was kind with only one wet day in the entire week. We even picked a clear day for the trip up Snowdon !! Bedgellert is right in the heart of Snowdonia so everything is within easy reach.

The cottage is well equipped with everything you need including masses of storage space. The only thing we couldn’t was place mats or coasters so we needed to be extra careful not to mark the furniture. Somehow we coped….

We would certainly recommend this property for anyone planning a trip to North Wales.

My family really enjoyed staying at this cottage and would do so again if planning another trip to Snowdon. It was really only a base for us to walk, cycle and explore but because its furnished nicely and the kitchen is provided with everything you could need, it felt homely. The river is at the bottom of the garden, there are lovely easy or difficult walks from the doorstep, driving around the area is just so scenic…. The walk up the large hill behind the cottage and down to Sygun Copper Mine is a good starter with 360 degree views from the top including a peek at Snowdon. The pubs in the village sell expensive food, we didn’t find the usual pub grub. But the Bistro was excellent and I would also recommend Castell Deudreuth at Portmeiron as a place to eat (so welcoming and not at all stuffy). Few cars on the road in April, sheep everywhere, snow on the mountain tops (we were lucky when we climbed Snowdon in the sunshine) and the long hard uphill walking slogs. And if you want to cycle well planned but difficult trails, my son was wowed by Penmachno. This cottage is an excellent base for everything in the area.
