Luxury Holiday Getaway With Hot Tub In Harlech | Hafod-Y-Morfa

Hafod-Y-Morfa is a stunning, luxury holiday getaway with hot tub in Harlech. Set 200m from Harlech beach and the famous Royal St Davids Golf Course, this modern holiday cottage is a real treasure and you’ll be booking it up for the following year as soon as you've set foot in it.

Totally enclosed, the new build is set over two floors. An upstairs balcony, complete with hot tub which overlooks the golf course and has uninterrupted views of the castle. It really could not be more beautiful.

The interior is stunning. Sleek, clean and airy, the downstairs is semi open-plan. The kitchen has high gloss units and floor tiles giving it that really modern feel. The big American style fridge freezer is always a great addition and the modern dark wood dining room table and chairs gives warmth along with splashes of colour from the soft furnishings. In terms of utilities, there is everything you will need to cater for your holiday and everything is of a high spec.

Through large wooden and glass, french doors from the kitchen brings you into the sitting room. A large, spacious room with lots of big windows. Wooden floors and plenty of cosy leather sofas means that everyone will be able to find the space to enjoy some downtime. There is a large log effect fire, it finishes the room off perfectly.

There is a second snug/games room on the ground floor with a games console. There is a double pull out sofa in here which comfortably sleeps two. There is also a WC on the ground floor.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms. Two twin rooms and a double. Two of the bedrooms open out onto the balcony where you will find the hot tub. There are also chairs and tables out here so plenty of opportunity to sit back and enjoy the views that are on offer.

All the bedrooms have been finished to a very high spec and feel like boutique style hotel rooms. Thick pile carpet, plump and inviting beds along with neutral colours set against blue walls make it all come together. Two of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms; one has a lovely freestanding bath and a separate shower, the other has a large walk-in shower. There is also a family bathroom that has both a shower and a large corner bath. The bathrooms are again all very modern and tiled throughout.

Location

Hafod-Y-Morfa has a private enclosed garden, the outside is a great selling point. There is a small lawned areas to the back of the house with front is all laid with patio. The outdoor furniture, which includes table, chairs and sun loungers (during the summer, this place is a real sun trap) will enable you to make the most of being outside. Towards the back is an outside kitchen where you'll find a bbq along with butler sink etc under a sheltered area - all finished beautifully. The outside spiral staircase takes you up to the hot tub so you don’t have to always access from the bedrooms upstairs.

With regards to the location of the cottage, you are on Harlech’s Beach Road, 200m from a beautiful sandy beach and walking distance to the Royal St Davids Golf Course - it’s a really great location. Harlech itself has a lot on offer considering it is a small town. There is the castle of course with the attached visitors' centre. The high street has a number of cafes and restaurants and smaller gift shops. At the bottom end of town, there is a swimming pool and climbing wall.

You are really well placed to enjoy Snowdonia. Drive 20 minutes south and you come to Barmouth - a quintessential seaside town with everything you need to enjoy a day beside the seaside followed by a fab evening with all the restaurants, cafes, bars etc - there is lots going on here.

A little further south will bring you to Dolgellau where you'll find Coed Y Brenin - a fantastic place for mountain biking and if you have children in the mix, I would strongly recommend a day spent here.

North will take you to Porthmadog and Portmeirion Village. Porthmadog is where you will find all the main supermarkets and a good choice of shops and places to eat. The Ffestiniog Steam train sets off from here before chugging it’s way up into the mountains of Snowdonia. Portmeirion Village is an Italian inspired village in North Wales and if you like the unusual, you should certainly make a point of going to visit.

The main towns and villages of Snowdonia are between 30 - 60 minutes away in the car and here is where you will find Zip World and of course all the mountains, lakes and rivers for walking, climbing, water sports, including white water rafting!

Returned for the 2nd year running to this lovely holiday home, ages from 11-74 and 3 dogs and all enjoyed, hot tub a hit again and closeness to beach a highlight, disappointing to not have the lovely welcome hamper we had waiting for us on arrival last year and would welcome an earlier check in time and later check out.

Had an amazing time celebrating my 50th with family at this amazing place. Fantastic views, high spec finishes and close enough for the beach, a shop and pub. What more could you want from a holiday.

Great location, amazing views of the Castle along with a short walk to the beach and local shop. The house was beautifully finished and extremely clean. The onsite staff gave us lots of advice/recommendations to maximise our stay. Generous welcome hamper which was a lovely surprise.

Fantastic property, very spacious rooms and spotlessly clean. Comfy beds and good quality linens. Garden and patio area with BBQ were good sized spaces and hot tub a bonus with fantastic views. The property is excellent value in good area, walking distance to Harlech and coastal path. Deli in Harlech very good and well stocked local shop at end of road.

June 2024
Had a lovely weeks stay here with family ranging from 1 to 75. It’s a gorgeous, spacious comfortable house, the facilities are amazing. We all slept well and enjoyed the hot tub, which was very clean and well maintained.
The weather was great, and we enjoyed eating outdoors after cooking on the great BBQ!
The beach was easily walkable for everyone (except a lazy 75 year old who went partway in the car!)
It was clean and quiet, wish I was back there now! The only things to be aware of are the lack of local facilities. The nearby premier shop is great for basics, but Harlech itself is lacking. The couple of pubs there are only open a couple of days, with restricted hours, and we struggled to find a butchers or bakers nearer than Porthmadog. Luckily we’d ordered an online shop from Tesco.
I would highly recommend Hafod y Morfa and look forward to returning in the future.

We stayed in Hafod-Y-Morfa in May 2024. Family of 6 and 2 dogs. The house was stunning and spotless, everything you need was provided including a beautiful welcome hamper. The garden was superb for the dogs, they could run around completely enclosed and safe. The location is perfect, 4min walk to the lovely Queens Hotel pub and 5-10 min walk to the brilliant huge local beach, which was dog friendly. 10/10 from us, it’s definitely on our list to return. Thank you.

We have just returned from a great week’s holiday. Even though the weather was not always the best the house was fabulous. Very well presented with loads of space for the 8 of us including a toddler. We especially liked the closeness of a gorgeous beach. The train station is only a few minutes walk so we could visit Barmouth without taking the car. Everyone agreed we will definitely be back.

Hi

OMG I cannot tell you what a wonderful week we had a fabulous house and wonderful location!

It was everything we could have wished for. There were four generations of my family from an 84 year old great grandma to an eight month old baby and four dogs!

We did jigsaws, had a family quiz, a make your own pizza night and so much more!

We walked on the beach and did shifts on going to Porthmadog, Portmerion and Barmouth so that the dogs weren’t left alone. My two sons went mountain biking in Snowdonia and we all went into Harlech and bought fabulous local cheeses for the cheese and port night!

This was a Christmas present to my family from me and I feel honoured that we were able to make so many memories!

Everything we could have wished for was there.

I cannot thank you enough and I have already put something on Facebook for all my friends and recommended you!

We’ve had a fantastic break at Hafod-y-Morfa the house was immaculate beautifully decorated and high standard finish. It was very comfortable with lots of space for everybody. We were very close to a fabulous beach. The fellas managed a game of golf on the golf course and thoroughly enjoyed it. The jacuzzi was great with a fabulous view of the Castle. The only down side was the pubs, one closed, one the hours of opening . I would definitely recommend this holiday to families.

We’ve had a fantastic few days at Haford-Y-Morfa. The house was very clean when we arrived and it has such lovely facilities which we made good use of. The hot tub was fantastic even with the colder weather and the outside covered barbecue was brilliant. Stunning kitchen and living accommodation. It has clearly been designed for a luxurious and very comfortable holiday.

The team who look after it were on hand with any questions we had and very attentive. Excellent.

Harlech was quiet due to the time of year with quite a few bits closed first half of the week but we did end up having a nice meal at the Queens hotel just a five minute walk up the Beach road which was lovely and very good value for money.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property and Dioni.
