Three Bedroom Holiday Cottage in Betws-Y-Coed | Hendre-Wen

Near PubNear Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)
Betws-Y-Coed

Hendre-Wen is a modern detached three bedroom holiday cottage in Betws-Y-Coed; known as the gateway to Eryri (Snowdonia) and home to the Swallow Falls. It is a comfortable cottage in a popular location.

From the entrance hall we turn left into a large kitchen diner. Cream fitted kitchen units house all the appliance you need for a self catering holiday including a washing machine, electric oven and hob. A breakfast bar with stools separates the kitchen area from the dining area that includes a simple dining table and chairs plus a flat screen TV.

We cross back across the entrance hall and into the lounge. Again, this is a lovely bright and simple space with comfortable seating and a second TV flanking a central fireplace. French double glazed doors leading out onto the back garden ensures that the room is filled with a nice soft light. There is also a convenient ground floor bathroom with wc and washbasin.

There are three bedrooms upstairs. The first is a large double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. A second bedroom houses two single beds. The third, slightly smaller bedroom has just the one single bed. Simple clean décor helps create a calm and relaxed feel to the house. The first floor family bathroom includes a shower over bath arrangement, wc and washbasin.

Location

Hendre-Wen is located on a quiet road in Betws-Y-Coed. The house includes a small back garden and off road parking for up to two cars at the front. A quick 5-minute walk will bring you into the centre of Betws-Y-Coed itself. There’s a wide selection of pubs, cafes and shops in town and is a popular destination for tourists throughout the year.

There’s lot to do in the area. Adventure activities such as mountain biking and cave exploring sit along more traditional pastimes such as walking and golf. The Marin Trail for example, is a must for all keen mountain bikers. And keen walkers should wander along the Llugwy river to the famous Swallow Falls during their stay.

The options for days out are also numerous. Described as the gateway to Eryri, Betws Y Coed is within easy reach of the mountains and lakes that North Wales is so famous for. Castles and historical monuments are dotted everywhere on the landscape whilst other popular attractions celebrate our more recent industrial heritage.

A fantastic and really peaceful stay at Hendre Wen. Dyfed left us to it, but also was responsive when we were late to arrive, telling us how to access the key.

A lovely house with all the amenities we needed to hand. Perfect positioning, just outside the centre of Betws, our stay was lovely.
Many thanks,
David

We had a great time in this property over Christmas. The house was very warm and comfortable and the owner had put up lights and a tree. Communication was good with Dioni and the owner. Everything went very smoothly.

What a great place to stay. Very well equipped, warm and welcoming cottage. It had everything you could need and the written instructions on how to operate everything were perfect. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the map in the kitchen showing where all the best places to visit were. It’s an easy walk into the village with all it’s amenities but we preferred taking the footpath across the A5 to the Miners bridge and walking in that way.
We loved staying here and would definitly stay here again

This beautiful home was the perfect base for our stay in Betws-Y-Coed, offering plenty of space for a large group. Everything was spotless and comfortable, and the host thoughtfully provided clear instructions for using the appliances, including the oven and heating system. There were also plenty of great recommendations for local sights and activities. The house was easy to locate thanks to the detailed directions, and it’s situated on a peaceful, quiet street. After long days exploring Eryri National Park, it was great to return to such a welcoming place, complete with storage for muddy boots and cozy spaces to unwind. I’ll absolutely be returning on my next visit to North Wales. Highly recommended!

A wonderfully comfortable stay at Hendre Wen. The house is warm, welcoming, and spotlessly clean. It’s in a great location, just a short walk from the restaurants and shops in Betws-Y-Coed, and only a quick drive to some of the most stunning spots in Eryri National Park. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need if you’re planning to cook, and the peaceful surroundings make it the perfect place to relax and recharge after a day of hiking. I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit!

We’ve stayed at Hendre Wen a few times but not since 2021. This is our favourite property for stays in North Wales. Modern and comfortable with excellent amenities and a short walk from the centre of Betws-y-Coed. The Miner’s Bridge and Swallow Falls are also short walks from the property. If you want to leave the car behind, the bus stop to Pen-y-Pas and Llanberis is a minute walk to the end of the road. We would highly recommend staying here and we will, hopefully, return in the future.

Great time in this nice cottage, garden renewed with some slates and the sheeps view.
Children playground just 2 min walk, city center around 20 min. Betws-y-coed is the gathering point of any Snowdonia National Park visitor at some point -Very convenient “go outdoor” store there. Quite busy during easter, should be the same in summer. Luckily, cottage is a bit aside, in a quiet area.
Everything easy to operate in the cottage, feeled like home.
would probably choose the same cottage for another trip there.

As beautiful as described on Dioni.co.uk’s website.
The cottage is nice, clean, warm and has all the amenities needed for a perfect holiday in the breathtaking Wales. The outside scenery is gorgeous and it is placed in a quiet location but close to shops, pubs, restaurants. The town has a beautiful waterfall and nice walks in the forest. The owner is really helpful and kindly met all our requests. Definitely would recommend to stay in this lovely cottage. Hopefully we will be back one day.
