Boutique Dog Friendly Cottage North Wales | Lon-Las

Welcome to Lon-Las, where the "rustic cottage" trope is turned on its head in favour of something far more interesting. This is a masterclass in curated, coastal-cool design, styled with a discerning eye and a heavy influence from the iconic local lifestyle store, Cwt Tatws. If you’ve been hunting for a boutique dog friendly cottage North Wales that pairs antique dressing tables with bold, contemporary choices like a statement emerald-green staircase, Lon-Las is your match.

The guided tour begins in the open-plan ground floor, where slate flooring meets the warmth of a roaring log burner. Look closely and you’ll spot the influence of the nearby coast: tactile sheepskins, brass-accented lighting, and Persian rugs that add layers of soul to the stone walls. The kitchen-diner is a retro-lover’s dream, anchored by a creamy Smeg fridge and a chunky timber table that’s seen its fair share of slow morning coffees and late-night Welsh cheese boards.

Tucked away on this level is a twin bedroom that feels effortlessly French-chic, featuring wool blankets and an airy, light-filled atmosphere. It is served by a ground-floor shower room that doesn't hold back on luxury, boasting floor-to-ceiling tiles, underfloor heating, and a rain shower designed to wash away the salt of the Irish Sea.

Follow that striking green staircase to the first-floor sanctuary. The master bedroom is a textural delight, centred around a king-size bed with a hand-upholstered Welsh tapestry headboard. But the pièce de résistance is the bathroom. It’s less of a utility room and more of a retreat, featuring a double-ended bath with brass taps positioned perfectly under a skylight for a long soak beneath the stars.

The magic continues outdoors. While others settle for the hum of a plastic hot tub, Lôn Las offers a private, plumbed outdoor bath for true, silent star-gazing. With a covered outdoor shower and basin for post-beach sand removal and a traditional charcoal BBQ, the garden is a masterclass in alfresco living.

Location

Lon-Las sits on the wilder, more authentic edge of the Llyn Peninsula, just outside the village of Tudweiliog. This is a location for those who want the coast without the crowds. You are less than half a mile from the local pub for a sunset pint and just under a mile from the legendary Cwt Tatws shop and cafe. Here, you can enjoy a hearty local breakfast or pick up a piece of the Llyn to take home, all while overlooking the turquoise waters of Porth Towyn.

Porth Towyn beach itself is famous for its "whistling sands" and pristine beauty - a playground for children and wild swimmers alike. Within a 20-mile radius, the adventures are endless: the surfer’s paradise of Hell’s Mouth, the world-famous Ty Coch Inn at Porthdinllaen, and the dramatic, cloud-piercing peaks of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Whether you’re here for the clifftop hikes or the boutique shopping, Lon-Las is the ultimate stylish anchor for your North Wales escape.

What a beautiful cottage for a couple of days rest and relaxation. We walked in to a kitchen table with some pretty tulips, a bottle of red wine, crisps & chocolates; a lovely welcome.
Everything was exactly as pictured on the website and the welcoming owner had added additional touches. The outdoor bath was gorgeous and we had been left some beautiful bubble bath to use.
Less than a mile down the road is the coffee shop owned by the family with direct access to a stunning beach which was fantastic for the dogs at this time of year.
We had a wonderful few days and this is a place that we would certainly want to stay again.
