This spacious three bedroom detached property near Criccieth is in the perfect location to explore the west coast of North Wales and the Llyn Peninsula. At only a five minute drive to the pretty seaside town of Criccieth, there are a number of reasons to visit including the wonderful beach, Criccieth Castle and a host of restaurants and cafes. Visiting Criccieth Castle's hilltop location provides spectacular views of the surrounding coastline and mountains. Originally built in the 1230's, the castle was modified numerous times over the years and the impressive twin towers of the gatehouse still remain to this day. Stop into Cadwalader's for some fantastic ice cream with views out to sea, or for something more substantial head to Dylan's Restaurant sitting alongside the beach in a stunning art deco building, before spending some time on the beach.

The nearby sweeping coastline provides numerous long sandy beaches including Morfa Bychan Beach where you can drive the car and park up right on the sand. A short drive east from the property heads toward the town of Porthmadog and onwards to the stunning Italianate Village of Portmeirion, packed full of quirky and wonderfully coloured buildings, alongside cafes and shops. It's a stunning location and was the set for the 1960's cult classic TV show The Prisoner. Hikers and walkers will find that the Parc Genedlaethol Eryri (Snowdonia National Park) is also only a short drive north east, with miles of walking trails and pretty villages to explore.

This was a beautiful property. Everything you need for a relaxing break. Immaculate, beautiful and well thought out design. Excellent facilities to accommodate anyone with mobility issues, wheelchair users. Debbie and Dave are the perfect hosts and we have recommended this property to others already and we can’t wait to go back.

Great hosts. Really receptive to us. Bonus hamper in arrival which was great. Great links to the mountains and the best sauna I’ve used a 6 minute drive away at the beach. Great for dog walks, relaxing, access to the mountains and supermarkets for snacks and supplies!

Absolutely gorgeous stay, we had the most amazing weekend at Maes-Y-Caerau. Debbie was the most accommodating and lovely host, and did everything to make us feel right at home. I was celebrating a birthday and found a beautiful basket with chocolates, Prosecco, snacks and a card when I arrived, which was such a thoughtful added touch.
The property itself is stunning, with every little detail thought of to make it feel homely, special and unique. The bedrooms are all gorgeous, in particular the master bedroom with the floor to ceiling window with views of nearby fields.
While having a car is advisable to make the most of the nearby beauty, we found it very easy to get to the place by bus, with the bus stopping just outside!
Thank you so much Debbie, we can’t wait to plan another trip!

This place is awesome. We dealt with Dave, and he was so accommodating! He really went the extra mile to make sure that my husband and his brothers had a lovely birthday, with the extra touches. It was a pleasure to deal with him! Thanks again, and we hope to be back again really soon.

We had a great week in this beautiful holiday home. Debbie and Dave were fantastic hosts who were always helpful and responsive. They gave us some great suggestions of places to see and things to do. The house was lovely, clean, tidy and just as described. All the instructions were for the house and the appliances were in very clear and well laid out folder. . The location was quiet with a field to walk the dogs off lead just behind the property. Overall we could not have asked for a better house or hosts and hope we will return in the future.
