This three bedroom pet friendly holiday cottage in Harlech is a great base for anyone wanting to explore this charming seaside holiday town in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Comfortable beds and luxurious sofas combine with some lovely décor to create a real home from home for any visiting guests.

The spacious lounge includes a large picture window overlooking a terraced front garden full of wildlife. The indispensible large flat screen TV sits in the corner while a modern wall mounted fire provides a natural focal point in the evening.

A lovely archway leads us into the adjoining kitchen diner. Solid wood fitted kitchen units houses all the essential appliances you’d expect, including a modern electric oven with gas hob, dishwasher and fridge freezer. (The washing machine is in the summerhouse in the back garden.) A simple dining table and chairs sits in front of a set of French doors leading out to the large rear garden of the cottage

All three bedrooms are beautifully decorated. The largest of which has a kingsized bed and lots of fitted wardrobes and cupboards. It also benefits from a lavish en-suite bathroom complete with spa bath, powerful overhead shower, wc and washbasin. The other two bedrooms are twins. Again, both bedrooms are beautifully appointed and share a second bathroom with a large walk in shower, wc and washbasin.

Location

The cottage benefits from a large front garden and an even larger and private back garden. A small brook at the back of the garden is all that separates the cottage from a woodland area that stretches up behind the house. So, as you can imagine, the back garden is often filled with wildlife, squirrels, badgers and lots of different woodland birds making regular appearances.

Harlech itself is a lovely little town. The world famous castle is a must see of course and is only a short walk from the cottage. But there are a couple of really nice cafes in town too, a couple of pubs and also a couple of restaurants to choose from. Again, all within walking distance from the house. The beach is another natural draw for many of our guests. A beautiful sandy coastline that lines this part of the wonderful Cambrian Bay must be among the cleanest and most picturesque shorelines in the UK.

The larger harbour town of Porthmadog is about 20 minutes to the North while the ever-popular seaside resort of Barmouth is about 15 minutes to the south. Mount Snowdon is about 30 minutes away in the car but I would encourage guests to discover the less well-trodden hills and mountains that rise up just behind the cottage.

Beautiful bungalow in a lovely position. Very well equipped. Gardens were beautiful. Great base for sightseeing.
Unfortunately we had to come home after two days due to family illness. Would definitely recommend a stay there and are hoping to try and book again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mehefin Holiday cottage in Harlech. The home was warm, well equipped and comfortable and the surrounding area was gorgeous. Short drive to many beautiful villages, ancient castles and the beach is absolutely incredible for long walks and fresh air. There are hiking trails close by and the village is also near. Would love to come again, you never know!

We had a lovely relaxing stay in the bungalow every thing you would want, squeaky clean, comfortable beds, lovely welcome pack, beautiful garden, in all five star accommodation, it was nice to meet Kay and Steve the owners. If we are in this area again we will definitely be back.

Beautiful bungalow. Highly recommend. Lovely location in a quiet but convenient spot to view lots of sites.
Harlech Castle is just around the corner with good cafes within walking distance and the Castle Cottage restaurant with great food and excellent service. The Victoria inn with a great atmosphere is only 7 miles away. Not too far is Barmouth, Portmeirion and the Festiniog railway as well as Porthmadoc. The slate mines are well worth a visit.
The bungalow is spacious and spotlessly clean with all our needs being catered for. The hosts were very
helpful but not intrusive. Thank you for a great holiday experience.

Mehefin was an excellent holiday let. Well appointed, very clean , well equipped and larger than we expected. The garden was a particular delight, and it was great to meet the owners who were very friendly. We will certainly consider a return visit.

What a wonderful holiday home – absolutely Amazing !!! The views from the bench of the front garden are breathtaking taking !! The home was spotless – everything you need, garden is an ambundance of wildlife – every morning & evening spent there. Met Kay a few times – lovely lady & so helpful. Harlech is such a quaint village & handy to visit many other beautiful places. Wow !!! We will be returning again – can’t wait. 4 Adults with 2 dogs – loads of space & we had visitors that stayed in the village come over for dinner on 3 of the evenings – plenty of room. Thank you for such a wonderful time away with family making some very special memories x

As others have already said what a stunning bungalow with an even more stunning garden. We were lucky enough to meet Kay and were able to let her know how jealous we are of the garden which she obviously lovingly looks after. There was nothing you could fault. A real home from home and we also had amazing weather. We would definitely book again if we are in the area

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights with our 16 week old puppy. It’s spacious and has a massive back garden that backs onto woodland. Everything was clean, there was a nice selection of board games and movies to choose from, and the garden was really useful for the dog when we weren’t at the beach!
