Three Bedroom Pet Friendly Holiday Cottage in Harlech | Mehefin

A lovely bungalow with a beautiful, well kept garden at the front with gorgeous views of the castle and sea from the bench. Inside was fresh, spotlessly clean throughout, really cosy and inviting. We had picked it especially as all amenities were on one level which was perfect. The bungalow had everything you could possibly need with a well equipped kitchen, well laid out rooms and great showers. The back garden was wonderful, many hours sat in the sunshine, listening to the bird song. The welcome pack was a nice surprise and much appreciated, the best Bara Brith we have tasted! Mehefin was well situated, quietly tucked away but within easy distance to Harlech – although the hill was a bit of a push with a wheelchair! We have a wonderful week in the sunshine and Mehefin made it all the more special for us all.

Stayed at Mehefin for 8 nights to play golf at Royal St Davids. Was great to be in the Heart of Harlech within walking distance of everything. The bungalow was perfect for what we needed.

This is our 3rd stay and once again another wonderful stay. The welcome pack was lovely and nice to see Kay again. Weather was good to us this time, lovely to sit in the garden and take in the view and admire all the hard work that has gone into the garden.
Great location for lots of walking again, would highly recommend Mehefin if you want home from home accomodation.

A lovely break at Mehefin. So close to the centre of town, castle & cafes etc but secluded and quiet.
Spacious and well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stress free time.

Had a wonderful time at Mehefin, couldn’t fault the inside and out, everything you need inside and such a cute garden but would have been better if wall or fence was up between this and next doors garden also more local information would have been nice in owners handbook but we knew the owners lived close by if anything was needed, we would certainly book again if we wanted to stay again in this area which we loved.

On driving up to Mehefin we were greeted with a beautiful, well kept garden at the front with gorgeous views of the castle and sea from the bench. As soon as we walked into the bungalow you could see that it was fresh, spotlessly clean throughout, cosy and inviting, we loved it, it had everything you could possibly need or want while away, truly home from home, every detail had been thought about, the kitchen was so well equipped, sofas and bed were extremely comfortable, wonderful powerful showers, just perfect. The back garden was equally as beautiful and as well kept as the front, lovely grassed area for the dog’s to run around playing and the patio with the table and chairs was perfect to sit at and take in the garden, peacefully with a glass of wine after a lovely day out. The welcome pack was a nice surprise and much appreciated.
Mehefin was so well situated, quietly tucked away but within easy distance to Harlech where our dogs and ourselves just adored the gorgeous beach. We really had a wonderful break at Mehefin, felt so relaxed while there and as others had written in the past, we have to agree, it was one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in. Thank you, we will return at some point, most definitely.

5 ***** our stay at Mehefin was amazing, clean, tidy, home from home stay. The back garden was a beautiful large space with a natural spring and wood which made it magical. 4 teenage boys were entertained for hours with the badminton set provided by the owner. Any slight issues and the owner sorted it instantly. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back

Another wonderful stay, this is our 2nd time here and once again we cannot fault anything. Cake, wine and milk on arrival with everything that you need to hand throughout the property. If you are after home from home then you will not be disappointed, Location is great for access to beaches and attractions throughout North Wales.

A lovely, comfortable stay. We were a big group, excellent kitchen equipment available and bathroom towels provided. Kay and Steve have a bungalow and garden to be proud of and you can see all the effort they have made with their beautiful fairy gardens, very picturesque. We did see the visiting badgers twice, a beautiful experience to see. We would definitely recommend to others. Thank you.

We had a lovely stay at this well equipped bungalow with great thought for detail and comfort. The welcome pack made up of milk, tea, sugar, wine and a large beautiful cake were very welcome after a long journey. The grandchildren and the the 3 dogs made good use of the large garden at the back. You certainly weren’t overlooked with a wooded back and an amazing view of Harlech castle and the beach to the front.The owner was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this bungalow and there is plenty to see and do around the area.

We have just arrived home after staying at the cottage for a week. The cottage is so clean and has everything you require. The gardens are absolutely beautiful with fantastic views of the castle and beach. The owners went out of the way to make our stay as comfortable as possible by making home made cake, leaving a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge for your arrival. Definitely recommended and we will be returning. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a wonderful house. Everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The house was so clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. The bedrooms were great and the beds comfy. The sofas were so comfy too. Both bathrooms were lovely and the showers I just didn’t want to get out. The gardens were great too with so many different decorations in them to look at and the dogs loved playing in the back garden. The view from the front garden over the castle was fabulous. I met Kay the owner and she was lovely. I blown away by how lovely the area was and if I was to go back I would certainly go back to this house. I would highly recommend to anyone to visit harlech and would certainly point them in the direction of staying at this house. I would also like to thank you Kay for the bottle of wine and the cake. They were lovely and the milk came in handy. Thank you for everything Kay.

A truly fabulous week in this spacious, well equipped, well situated bungalow. The garden was lovingly tended and the sounds of birdsong rang in our ears all day. We visited Barmouth, Porthmadog, Shell Island, Black Rock Sands as well as the area around Harlech. Harlech is a great start off point for exploring the area. Harlech is so nice and the beach so impressive that there is no need to travel far at all if you don’t want to. There are some great walks around Harlech itself. Our dogs loved the walk in the woods next to the property. We would return in an instant, it was a wrench to leave!

Mehefin was lovely, clean and spacious. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the whole stay. It is situated in a very quiet location but still within the town, and minutes from the cafes, shops and castle. The garden is flat and accessible to all with a patio. We all felt very much at home and relaxed. The cake on arrival was beautiful and was a treat each day we returned from our coastal walks!
I would definitely stay there again.

Mehefin was like home from home all you would need for a perfect holiday. It was very clean ,the beds were very comfortable, lovely gardens well kept .

Mehefin was the best place ever! Loads of room indoors and outdoors! It would be nice if the back garden was more secure as one of the dogs escaped into woods that are the end of garden. Perfectly situated for walks, beach, central to plenty of places to drive to. Weather was excellent, what more could you wish for😘

Our third stay at this first class property – with well tended gardens and a host of gnomes and other characters.
Well sited for beaches – which go on for ever – castles – walks the great little trains of Wales and much much more.
As others have commented – an excellent fish and chip shop just 5 minutes from the property

We had a lovely 2 weeks stay in this perfectly located holiday home. The cake, wine and milk on arrival was a bonus. Very well equipped and a beautiful quite garden to sit in after all the walking that was done. Walks from the property and Harlech beach is a must, so beautiful. Kay and Steve were great hosts and on hand if we ever need anything. The weather was a big bonus for us and loved watching the wildlife and sunset in the garden. Would highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

We had a lovely week at Mehefin. It is a spacious bungalow with a lovely back garden which we enjoyed.The welcoming cake and bottle of wine was a nice touch. The house is well stocked with everything you would need. Only wee grumble is that quite a few glasses are chipped and should be replaced. The house is at the top of a very steep street so beware if you have mobility issues. Enjoyed our time in Harlech and surrounding area. There are lots of nice places within easy reach and nice restaurants too. We would recommend this area and property.

We had a relaxing week in Harlech with 3 generations sharing this lovely bungalow. Harlech castle has a new cafe with stunning views from the balcony. Ideal for the less mobile in our group as there is disabled parking and disabled toilets. We had fish n chips in Barmouth, Tea & sandwiches at the lovely railway cafe in Porthmadog and wathced the steam train load up and pull away. Visited Llandanwg beach twice as the carpark & lovely cafe selling homemade cakes and pasties etc including veggie options is very close to the beach and there are lovely views of the bay.The garden at the bungalow is a nice haven of calm & we enjoyed all the bird life that visited.

We loved staying at Mehefin. The location was perfect, and the bungalow was clean and well stocked. It’s always nice to have a kitchen with all the equipment required. The garden was really lovely, and full of birds.
Although it said no dogs allowed in the bedrooms I suspect previous guests had ignored this, as there was dog hair on the carpet in the master bedroom. A minor issue to be expected when staying in a dog friendly property though.

A lovely spacious holiday home with am amazing garden, which the children loved playing in. The property was spotlessly clean and hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The milk left in the fridge upon arrival and a delicious homemade cake were lovely extra touches. Harlech itself was a nice place to stay, great sandy beach about a mile away and a few local shops / restaurants/ pubs including a great fish and chip shop. Would definately return here. A gem of a holiday cottage.

What a fab week! If you want to know the difference between a house and a home spend some time at Mehefin. Steve and Kay were excellent hosts and the house wants for nothing. Highly recommended.

We picked the hottest week for our holiday at Mehefin, and as we had our two dogs with us, I stayed in during the day with them. Luckily for me, the house was fabulously comfortable and the garden was a delight. Probably the cleanest holiday home we’ve ever taken. Our gaggle of four teenagers loved every minute of their holiday and packed in a lot of mountain biking, swimming, canyoning, barbequeing and go karting. So many beaches to choose from for early morning and late evening dog walks. We loved our time there and we all want to go back next year. Lovely house, lovely area.

Lovely scones on arrival and welcoming owner. Very well kept house and garden with all mod cons, thoughtfully furnished. Fantastic location.. Managed to avoid using the car much.. With walks from the door, beautiful views, beaches, the castle and a train station for trips towards Portmeirion etc. (Though the steep climb back might put off some.. ) Highlights included watching the sun set over Cardigan Bay from nearby viewpoint and extreme canyoning with Adrenaline Addicts just a 20 minute drive away. Highly recommended.

We’ve had a wonderful time at Mehefin. Kaye and Steve were so helpful and left a lovely welcome pack for us of Welsh cakes, Bara Brith and wine. Mehefin is warm home which is super comfortable and spotlessly clean. The garden is beautiful and a haven for birds and wildlife. Mehefin is a very short walk from Harlech High St and a mile from Llandanwg Beach which has glorious sunsets and a mediaeval church. We have had such a good time and will definitely be back.

This is a lovely spacious well equipped bungalow with a delightful garden. It is in a quiet location but the centre of Harlech is at the bottom of the street. The area has much to offer from amazing beaches to mountain tops – a great base for any sort of holiday! The owners, Kay and Richard are welcoming and helpful. Go for it!!

Absolutely loved our week here in this fabulous bungalow that is equipped with everything you can think of. It is in a fantastic spot both close to the high street and beach. The gardens are also beautifully maintained and although we enjoyed our walk up Snowdon and our day in Zip-world and various other days out and about we really looked forward to going back to this beautiful home. We would definitely recommend a visit and both our dogs loved it as well. Thank you.

Lovely bungalow just a few steps away from the centre of Harlech. The interior is very cosy and extremely well equipped and the very generous welcome basket was very thoughtful (and tasty!).
There was a lovely selection of books and games as well and it really felt like a home from home. Anywhere that has a cupboard full of cookery books gets a big thumbs up from me!
All in all a fab place to stay and i would thoroughly recommend it.

This holiday home may not have “cottage” features, but it makes up for it in very luxurious & modern amenities. There were no signs of previous doggy guests, & everything was immaculate. We just could not fault it, & regretted not having been able to stay longer. A perfect, & peaceful, location for visiting the numerous trains, castles, & beaches of North Wales. Kay & Steve are very friendly owners, & promptly helped us when some lighting ‘failed’. Their Welcome Pack was generous, & delicious. We will definitely return.

Mehefin is a spotless and well equipped bungalow, quiet location and close to Harlech amenities and the castle. Owner Kay was very helpful and provided lovely welcome gifts of home-made scones, milk and wine. We enjoyed our stay very much and our Jack Russell enjoyed the long and well kept garden and we would highly recommend this holiday bungalow whether you are a couple or a family.

It is dog friendly, but don’t let that put you off if you have no pet. Unlike other cottages we’ve stayed in, there was absolutely no sign or smell of previous dogs.

We had a very pleasant stay at the start of June. This is a very comfortable, well equipped and clean property. It was a pleasure to stay here. Just short walk to local shops and castle, a little further to the beach, which is really lovely. Steep hills in area will keep you fit, but this is a really good place to stay for a relaxing holiday.

Lovely accommodation, more than enough room for the three of us, spotlessly clean and tidy on arrival. The scones, jam and cream, plus milk and wine waiting for us on arrival were all hugely appreciated. Both we and the dog greatly enjoyed the large back garden (the dog loved the little stream!) and we all spent many a happy hour sitting out there until the small hours. Perfectly located for the north Welsh coast plus the tourist attractions of Snowdonia. Owners were lovely and friendly and close by if we needed them. Cannot fault this accommodation. We will be back soon!

We had a wonderful week at Mehefin. The bungalow is extremely comfortable and very well-equipped. We met Kay, the owner, when we arrived and she was very helpful throughout the week. The cake was delicious and the wine and milk was much appreciated.

The gardens are an added bonus and our 2 children loved having that outdoor space. The views of the sunset over the bay from the front garden are beautiful.

We had a really fantastic weeks stay at Mehefin. The bungalow was immaculate, so clean and comfortable with everything we needed and more! Lovely warm welcome from the owner who arrived with homemade cake and a football for our son to use in the garden. Easy to walk into Harlech and the beach is dog friendly. Didn’t want to leave but will definitely be returning!

We had a lovely stay at Mehefin. The cottage was perfect and there is lots to do in Harlech and the surrounding area. The swimming pool is great on a wet day and don’t forget that the Theatre shows films some evenings. We didn’t see the badgers but they certainly enjoy peanuts. Not so keen on their veggies!

Cottage is fab and has everything you need for a great holiday. The gardens are superb and so peaceful. Kay and Steve live nearby and are lovely people and very helpful.

Harlech itself is so picturesque and has a good mix of little shops. The ice-cream parlour became a regular for us. Lovely walk down to the beach and the only thing missing is a little cozy pub.

We are planning a return visit as so much to do in the area

Lovely bungalow in a beautifully peaceful setting. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Ideally situated to visit many of the area’s attractions. Genuinely friendly owners. Would not hesitate to recommend this property. Diolch yn fawr!

Our stay at Mehefin was fantastic – April 22-29, 2017. A warm welcome from our Hosts, lovely cake and even milk in the fridge! The Cottage is well appointed, premium appliances, great kitchen, living area and bedrooms. Breakfast on the backyard patio was a treat, as were the evening Badger visits. Views from the front yard are Post Card worthy. The walk in shower is a real treat.

Harlech is well located for day trips in all directions and we did go in all directions. Everything in Town is in walking distance; the street itself is very quiet with little or no traffic due to the dead-end configuration.

Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay. They really have thought of everything and done it properly.

From the welcome book(only thing missing was heating instructions) , leaflets and photos to the toys and games for young and old alike,tbis has clearly been done from the perspective of the persons using it.

Comfortable seating, well equipped kitchen (including a cake and wine on arrival), washing machine (nb. no dryer) outside seating front and back, TV in every room, products for cleaning, bubble bath, soap, toilet paper, it’s really a brilliant Home away from Home and we all felt comfortable from the minute we arrived.

A visit from the Owner to drop off Peanuts for the badgers on the first night was very welcome and. Not that we saw badgers, although the Nuts went and the bone we got the dog was attacked. I think we all just went to bed too early.

A great place in a great location (can recommend both the Indian and Chinese) and somewhere we will definitely return to.

We spent four days over New Year at Mehefin, which is very well equipped and maintained. Very warm and comfortable. A good position. Owners live nearby and were very welcoming and helpful. Delicious sponge cake awaited us and a bottle of wine. We had a lovely New Year break. The property is pristine. Sadly, we did not see the badgers but had a vigil every night to no avail, perhaps next year!

The owners couldn’t of been more helpful after losing our car key! The accommodation was spot on and even had local badgers that come into the garden at night! Its a place i will certainly be going back too.

Where do I start. Me and the family have just got back from a lovely weeks holiday at this beautiful bungalow. It had such a warm welcome with the wine and homemade cake to welcome us.

My little boy Nolan (9months) loved it so much he started to crawl!!

we have just come back from a lovely week away, the weather was great we went to a different beach every day, Kenzi our German Shepard had a great time. the owners were helpful in telling us places to go. cottage was wonderful and quite and had everything we needed.we are looking forward to going back next year.

A well equipped clean bungalow in a lovely location. Private garden to the rear with a BBQ and patio area. The welcome goodies were much appreciated on arrival. The owners are lovely and understand the needs (and disasters) of young children providing games, footballs, dvds, books etc. Halech has a lovely beach but we found the beach just down the road near Llanfair easier to access especially when carrying a multitude of buckets, spades etc

Lovely house and lovely holiday. We were greeted with a fresh cream cake in the fridge – what more could you ask for? All the rooms were spotlessly clean, the kitchen had everything we needed and we were able to watch the local badgers at night. My youngest left a favourite cuddly toy which the owner kindly posted straight to us. Thank you very much!

Fantastic holiday, very spacious and clean accommodation! absolutely everything you need a real home from home . Beautiful view over the castle when you stand on the drive and in the distance the sea. Lovely owners nothing is to much trouble. And last but not least the badger family who appear late evening a real bonus to watch from behind the patio doors.

What a beautiful property. The bungalow has everything that you will need. It has a large garden to the rear with a huge gas BBQ, lots of seating, great for parking on the drive, beautiful luxurious interior and the owners have provided many extra luxuries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There are plenty of things to do in and around the area. The beaches are lovely. There are some very nice eating establishments which are not too far away. All in all a lovely holiday and very relaxing.

Great stay at our accommodation in Harlech, Wales. Lovely accomodation, clean and tidy. Accomodation was spacious, everything you needed and great views. To front of property you could see Harlech Bay and at back of house large garden leading to brook and woodland . Owners were lovely too.
