Large Holiday Cottage With Hot Tub Near Abersoch | Neigwl

Located high up on the hills in Rhiw, Neigwl comfortably sleeps fourteen. Stunning views, beautiful interiors and attention to detail describe this large holiday cottage with a hot tub near Abersoch to a capital T. A spacious and modern renovation, this holiday cottage will be on your wish list.

You’ll come into the house through the main front door into an oak floored hall. To your left is one of two sitting rooms complete with big comfy leather sofas, flat screen TV and classic Farrow and Ball Stiffkey coloured walls. Through this sitting room will bring you to the kitchen diner - the best room in the house! Great colour scheme, fantastic layout, plenty of room for fourteen and floor to ceiling glass doors so you can enjoy those views. Needless to say there is everything you will need while you are on holiday here. The log burner adds that welcoming and warming touch. Back through to the hallway will bring you to the second sitting room; a similar setup as before but with a different colour scheme.

At the back of the house is a family bedroom that sleeps four with a double bed and a set of bunks. There is an ensuite bathroom with a wet room style shower. Further along the hall is a communal shower room, again with WC and washbasin. A little further on is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble drier… we love the boost buttons for the underfloor heating and radiators!

On the first floor, there is a twin room and three doubles. All have beautiful soft furnishings; the tonal colours make them warm and inviting. On this floor is a communal bathroom with a freestanding bath along with a shower room with a wet-room type shower - both have a WC and washbasin and are very spacious with high quality fittings.

Finally, the attic upstairs is home to a twin room and a shower room with WC and washbasin. There is also a small sitting room where you will find a sofa and TV.

The outside space has been just as considered as the inside. The lovely patio and front lawn are great places to spend time outside - a real suntrap during the summer months. The games room in the converted garage houses a snooker table, ping pong and air hockey along with a floor to ceiling mural depicting a local shipwreck by a local artist.. every nook and cranny of this place has been thought out. The grand finale is the hot tub. This is an all singing, all dancing addition complete with automated cover - just turn the key and the whole thing lifts up. Turn on the lights (there is a disco mode if you want) and set the bubbles, sprays and everything else this has to offer…. oh, have I mention the views yet?!

Location

The house is located in Rhiw which is a small village on the South West tip of the Llyn Peninsula, 15 mins drive from Abersoch and 10 mins from Aberdaron.

In Rhiw itself, there is a manor house (Plas Rhiw) dating back to the 10th Century which is now owned by the National Trust - the organic garden is the only one owned by the National Trust. Porth Ysgo is the local beach which is beautiful and secluded and has a waterfall that cascades onto the beach itself…

Abersoch, 15 mins away is the nearest place to get all your local supplies. There is a good selection of cafes, restaurants and shops along with lots of watersports and of course Hell’s Mouth which is the surfing spot of the area. Aberdaron, 10 mins in the other direction is a lovely coastal village and where you can get a boat over to the famous Bardsey Island. Again a couple of nice pubs and bakeries make this a lovely place to visit.

The Llyn Peninsula has a lot on offer with Glaslyn Parc where you can go wakeboarding, karting and bowling along with lots of other family activities. Bear Grylls Survival, paintballing, off road segway are also located on the Peninsula. The Marina in Pwllheli is a great place for sailing.

Snowdonia has so much to offer; you can whitewater raft in Bala, Surf at Surf Snowdonia (inland surfing lagoon), see Portmeirion the beautiful Italian Village based on the coast which is home to Festival No 6, climb Snowdon and visit one of many Castles which are classed as world heritage sites…. and this is the tip of the iceberg as to what is on offer.

My family and I stayed here for a weeks holiday in the middle of September. The house was fantastic, the views were breath taking and catered for all the family. We had the play room for the adults, along with a very enjoyable hot tub. The downstairs bedroom catered very well for my grandparents with low mobility. We messaged in advance as we had a 5 month old and Carol ensured we had a cot and high chair on hand. Everywhere was clean, plenty of space and equipment for cleaning/ cooking and excellent quality furniture. Carol and the team would go over and above to meet the guests needs and support if need be. We couldn’t ask for anything more, thank you for reuniting Rowan with his monkey he is a very happy boy. Best wishes with the future!

What a fantastic house! We’ve just returned from spending a week with family to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The house itself has been beautifully renovated to a high standard with everything that you could possibly need and more beside! So much space that even with a large family gathering there’s always room to spare. My favourite place? Sitting outside just taking in the view. We had the best time in this fantastic place.
