We spent lovely weeks at Pant-Golau house. The surroundings are amazing and invite to walks. We enjoyed the calmness and the bird’s songs đđ
Thanks to the owners for the warm welcome !

A gorgeous and characterful property with everything that we wanted for a lovely holiday. We encountered a few issues on arrival but the host went to great lengths to get everything sorted to our satisfaction! All in all an excellent week and would definitely return.

Very spacious and comfortable cottage.
Location was ideal for us.
A nice walk to the pubs down the back lane.
We had a lovely week and hope to return.

A lovely, clean cottage, one of the best we have ever stayed in! Our 2 grandchildren had a wonderful time on the beach, even in the pouring rain. Lots to do locally, slate caverns, Nantcol waterfalls, Harlech castle, the beach, to name a few. The only small problem was that the window had âblownâ in the lounge, so we were unable to make the most of the view. Thank you for the goodies.

A great, and very well equipped cottage for our large group. Excellent location for exploring this beautiful area of North Wales, we used the railway to travel up and down the coast so the station being just a couple of minutes work was perfect! The house itself has plenty of seating for lots of people and the garden is a wonderful place to sit and take in the stunning scenery. It’s worth mentioning that the turning into the parking is quite tight if you’re travelling in an estate car (as we were), but we didn’t need to move it for the whole of our stay between walking into Llandber for a good In the highly recommend Victoria Inn, or hopping in the train for castle and beach exploration. Also, the best welcome basket we have ever had anywhere, thank you.

We had a lovely stay in no.3 Pant Golau. It was clean, comfortable and it had everything we needed. The TV was easy to work and log in to Netflix, WiFi was good. Two excellent sized parking spaces and the house was easy to find after 5+ hours on the road. The lounge would benefit from a lamp. We were impressed by the high spec appliances in the kitchen. One of the beds had a dead insect in it and another a pubic hair. The welcome pack was a nice touch. The garden is very nice. We loved the little walk we did with Reggie up behind the property, whilst waiting for the teenagers to wake up. This was a much needed break for us, thank you x

This is a lovely, well-equipped cottage, comfortably furnished and in a wonderful location. We loved being able to walk in one direction along the estuary and get to the beach in around 15 minutes. We walked all the way across the sands as far as Harlech, and then came back on the train (runs every 2 hours) to Pensarn station, just 8 minutes journey. Alternatively, we could walk up behind the cottage and climb through woods, across streams and sheep pastures into the hills inland. There are some amazing waterfalls at Nantcol and an abundance of beautiful views.
We spent a week there in early January and when we couldn’t go out walking because of the rain we built up the fire in the wood burner and played a game or watched the robins and other birds on the bushes outside.
So we really recommend Pant Golau, a super cottage in a great location â at any time of year!

A lovely cottage in a great location.
The biscuits and milk went down well with the kids after a long drive so much appreciated.
The beds were comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped.
We enjoyed sitting in the garden and the log burner in the evening.
We loved the short walk to Llanbedr which has 3 great pubs with beer gardens- perfect under current restrictions.
All the people we met were very friendly and we will definitely return!

Stayed here for a week with the family. A lovely cottage in a great and quiet location. The cottage is perfect base to explore the area. Our children loved watching the chicks in the nests at the cottage and walking down to the harbour and beach from the cottage.

I really loved my stay at Pant Golau. It was in fact my first holiday, as I am only 4 months old. I had an absolutely wonderful time. I so enjoyed walking around the countryside around the cottage. There were many things I saw for the first time – the sea was one of them, plus sheep, cows and horses. My particular favourite places were Cwm Bychan, the Nantcol waterfalls, Pensarn harbour and Llechollwyn. All these places were recommended in the excellent guide produced by Uncle Peter and Auntie Anne, the owners. I had a lovely place to sleep in my crate and an excellent place to put my pen, both in the superb slate-floored kitchen. My Daddy went on a trip to the Ffestiniog railway, which he enjoyed. I didnât go, but I could have for only ÂŁ3! I do hope my Daddy and Mummy will take me back again, (They will says Daddy)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Pant Golau between Christmas and New Year 2018. The cottage was lovely and clean with everything in good working order. So nice to be toasty warm and cosy despite the cold damp outside. We soon found the cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed from kitchen utensils (including a cafetiere) to games, books and toys . Both bathrooms had nice new modern fittings. Really powerful pressure in the main shower. The downstairs shower and toilet, beyond the kitchen, were very handy (note switch for shower is inside the kitchen) and the heated towel rail warmed the room. The owner was easy to contact when we had questions.
In the mornings I enjoyed walking out with the dog along the lane, down to the quaint railway station and beyond. Lovely views of the coast.
Welsh rarebit was really delicious at Harlech Castle Cafe where we had a couple lunches. I also enjoyed their loose leaf teas. We had an enjoyable evening meal at the Victoria Inn. Good food and service. The beach at Harlech was so extensive we only managed to cover a small part if it, after fun climbing up and down the sand dunes. We also had a plesant morning hiking round Rhaeadr Nantcol Waterfalls which are a very short drive from the cottage. All in all a great winter break on the Welsh coast.

Lovely accomodation.Parking 2 cars was difficult but you just need to take care. The downstairs loo is accessed through the rear garage/workshop area and would benefit from enlargement and being seperated/enclosed making it more like part of the house.

We spent 28/05 to 04/06/ 2017 at Pant Golau and really enjoyed our stay due to the excellent views and location, plenty of places to visit and value for money. On a negative note the downstairs shower/toilet room required a good clean and the door would not close due to swelling, the garden access was not small dog friendly, due to it having 2 steep staircases to access it and there was an issue in getting the cars out of the parking spaces when going out for the day. The cottage was spacious enough for all to be able to relax and the kitchen/dining area was very well equipped and we would give the property 8 out of 10 and would recommend this property to others.

We found Pant-Golau perfect for our needs. It had everything we needed and was very clean and tidy, in a lovely setting. Thank you to the owners! (The weather let us down but the cottage didn’t)!

Another excellent cottage from Dioni. The cottage had everything we needed for a week’s stay, being very well equipped even down to children’s books and toys. The location is great – Llanbedr for the Victoria and Ty Mawr for food and drinks and our favourite beach Llandanwg which the grandkids loved. The scenery in this particular area is beautiful and so varied that we have been coming since 1978 and plan to return later in the year.

What a lovely cottage, nestled away in the Welsh Hillside between Barmouth and Harlech (closer to Harlech) – beautiful sea views, some great walks.
The cottage easily caters for 8 people, plenty of space, very comfortable – the most relaxed week I’ve had in a very long time.
Can’t wait to go back đ

We have just stayed in this lovely house. We were four adults and three children and it was easily big enough. Fantastically equipped kitchen, and we had been left a generous amount of stuff such as loo rolls, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets as well as wine and tea/coffee and biscuits, which were very welcome. The house is well furnished and looks beautiful without being too precious which was comforting with three young children. The upstairs bathroom has a big bath which my children thought was great and a powerful shower. The downstairs bathroom has a walk in shower which is also powerful, although I don’t know how warm the downstairs bathroom would be in winter! The beds were beautifully comfortable and there was a lot of wardrobe and storage space for clothes. Everything worked as it should, the owner was really helpful when we needed help and Dioni were very approachable when sorting out the booking. We couldn’t have asked for more. Can also highly recommend the cafe opposite the Spar in Harlech (think it’s called the Blue Lion) as well as the steam railway that runs from Tywyn (but NOT the cafe near Dolgoch Falls). Great area, my favourite place on earth really, and the house was a lovely base. Thanks for a great holiday.

I could not possibly speak highly enough of this beautiful house or fantastic area, we really could have stayed forever. I could go on for ages about it’s many many plus points, but most have been covered by previous visitors.
I will add that the windows were all lockable and some also have restrictors on, which gave huge peace of mind to us as some of the windows were low enough for our one year old niece to lean to;
our own boys who, as a result of having complex special needs, have no sense of danger (and a keen interest in high places!) were also very safe and we would recommend this cottage to other families who have to account for additional needs. (supervision for all young children needed in the garden, but we didn’t find this was an issue, we just locked the door when we couldn’t be out there with them).
We have been holidaying in the area since were were little children ourselves, so can attest to the beauty and huge variety in the area, there really is something for everyone of all ages, abilities and interests, for us finding this beautiful home from home that is not only a wonderful stay for adults but safe and well equipped for our children has really put the icing on the cake…I am already planning our retirement to this perfect part of the world!
Finally, all I really want to say is please don’t go because you will fall in love and having only been back 3 days we are devastated that it does not seem to be available for most of next year! I am sincerely hoping that in the interest of fairness they are keeping dates closed until closer to the time and that it is not fully booked by others who have discovered this little piece of heaven on the Welsh coast.

Six adults and two teenage boys. We all enjoyed our stay very much and found that the house was well equiped and comfortable. The fact that we didn’t bring any towels caused us a bit of a problem. It may be worthwhile mentioning that they are not provided. Other than that we all had a happy time. The scenery is absolutely staggering and there are lots of interesting places to visit. The indian restaurant in Harlech ( one minute from the castle entrance ) is highly recommended and not expensive. Book in advance and forget your credit card – they like cash only. Of the two restaurants in the village we prefer The Victoria Inn . Staff very friendly – food good . We found the other very noisy , so we didn’t stay to eat.
Best regards, Bryan Shrubb

We have just returned from a lovely week staying at Pant-Golau. I didn’t get much time to write in their guestbook at the cottage, so would like to say that it was an excellent place to stay for the following reasons:
1. Huge Toy box of toys for our toddler, draw full of games and good selection of books to suit various ages (ideal if you get less than perfect beach weather) DVD player, Digi Box and Wifi all very much appreciated (espectially by the teenager in out party)
2. Great location! Happily we only had 2 rainy days (better than forecast-ed) and were able to spend an afternoon of one of them at the charming play farm just down the road ( which our 2 year old loved). The sheep, Pigmy goats and rabbits could all be fed inside and there was an excellent soft play area with air cannons to boot. On out sunny days the cottage was well placed for use to visit the beaches and other attractions of Barmouth, Portmadoch, Lllandanoch (quite beach) and Harlech -Cemlyn is a great tea room (Sorry for the poor spellings)
3. House was immaculate and big enough for 7 of us with toddler. It was also very well equipped with plenty of plates, cooking utensils two cots and the washing machine and dishwasher was very handy. (dishwasher tablets were provided but not washing detergent mind)
4. The views!! The photo’s do not do justice to the views, especially from the double bedrooms, which had a great panoramic of the farms, fields and coast – tres picturesque
5. The bath – little things like having a biggish bath was a treat for me (currently pregnant) and my toddler who imagined it was a swimming pool
6. Tea and Coffee and milk – again a little thing but I always appreciate the thought of providing a few biscuits, some tea bags and some milk to have after the journey.
All in all, very nice holiday and the cottage will go on our favorite list

We stayed here in May 2013 with relatives from South Africa, perfect place to stay and everything we needed was available, very atmospheric helped by the log burner! Regulars to the area for many years Pant-Golau was one of the nicest places we have stayed.

We visited the cottage with our friends from America for a long weekend with our four young kids (between us). The cottage was well equipped & comfortable…..we loved the toy box & books! The cottage is in a great location to explore the area, we had a nice visit to Criccieth Castle & Portmeirion & a wonderful trip on the train to Mount Snowdon. We’re hoping to visit Harlech Castle & Shell Island before heading home today. Would definitely love to come back & explore more of the beautiful area!
The agent was a huge help when we called after getting a flat tyre on the way here. Directed us to a great shop (Derek’s Tyes) closeby, which really saved the days. Thanks!!

We came for our yearly family tribe holiday – and we had a great time! The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and has had everything we could possibly need – lovely and clean!! and the location is to die for – the views from almost all rooms are stunning and all the furniture and finishings are quality and tastefully done.
Thanks so much for a week in country heaven.

Lovely holiday home for a family get together. Well stocked house & our youngest enjoyed playing with some new toys. Despite the inclement weather we enjoyed the local countryside. A visit to Portmeirion was particularly enjoyed.
Thank you for the welcome tray & letting us stay in your lovely home.

Wow! We thought of somewhere quiet where we could have an extended family birthday celebration, and found the perfect place for 7 of us plus two little ones.
The house was beautifully decorated and presented – a credit to Kerys (housekeeper) and to the owners. The box of toys, games and children’s DVDs and books were a bonus and went down well with our two young grandchildren when the weather turned wet. A very child friendly house.
The area is undoubtedly beautiful and well used by visitors, but before the weather closed in we managed to find a couple of places for good walking without people (but these will have to remain our secret).
The Victoria in Llanbedr proved very friendly with a lovely evening walk down the very narrow road – the food is good and if the weather is fine there is a small play area – there is a bigger public one just on the other side of the bridge, but just watch out for the river – can become dangerous for unattended youngsters very quickly.
We loved it and will certainly have it on our map of places to revisit, assuming that this and other positive reviews don’t fill it up!

Fantastic week, beautiful area with so much to do. We enjoyed football and cricket on the beach, visiting Shell Island and collecting hundreds of shells!
Food at Victoria Inn was good as was the beer garden/play area!
Great day out at Llechwedd Slate Caverns, both tours strongly advised. Nice relaxed day on the Bala Railway enjoyed by all.
The cottage was very clean and extremely well stocked, probably better than anywhere we’ve stayed, would be complete with a BBQ.

very comfortable cottage, with lovely views from the garden. Loud water pipes woke us all when the first one up ran the hot water so no alarm clocks needed.
The beaches nearby were perfect, and the Nantcol waterfalls stunning, especially if you follow the falls to the very top, follow the blue posts.
All in all a very good holiday

Very comfortable and well-equipped cottage, and “upstairs” garden. Only disadvantage was the loud screech from the hot water supply unless you turned it immediately to maximum flow. Got told off for waking my grandchildren when shaving before 8 am on our first morning! Splendid shower though.
Most exciting days, from my point of view anyway, were the Roman steps up to Bwlch Tyddiad and a trip on the newly-opened Welsh Highland Railway.
Some of the local footpaths marked on the O.S. maps are not as well sign-posted as they should be!

Just returned from a week in this beautiful cottage where I stayed with 5 other adults and a 5 year old child. Fantastic location for exploring Barmouth and Harlech. Loved having the shop and pubs within walking distance. Very well equipped for children and loved the bedrooms and bathroom! Did not want to get out of the shower! We did have 3 cars and it was a bit of a squeeze getting all 3 into the drive, but managed it. However, don’t use the neighbours drive to turn round on as she told us off, albeit we only did it once and for about 30 seconds to let a passing car go (it is a single track road). Walks to Shell Island and Nantcol Waterfalls highly recommended from the cottage. Also recommend hiring bikes in Barmouth and riding the Mawddach Estuary trail as this was lovely and there is a nice pub at the end where you can stop off to refuel! For all you walkers out there, if you fancy a change from Snowdon, Cadair Idris was just as spectacular. Had a lovely birthday meal in Harlech at the Plas restaurant. We didn’t book and it was a bank holiday but we still got in and they catered for children too. Reasonably priced set menu and beautiful conservatory and garden overlooking the Harlech coastline. A spectacular week and fantastic weather!

A lovely cottage, very well equiped, clean and comfortable. A little undersold on the website as no mention of the garden, downstairs shower & W.C or off street parking.
Eight of us shared, four adults and four children and it didn’t feel squashed at all. Would love to have stayed longer but it was already booked
