Bijoux Holiday Cottage Between Mountains and Sea | Stabal-Llanfair

X4
Near BeachReal Fire
Harlech

Stabal-Llanfair is a two bedroom bijoux holiday cottage between the mountains and sea. It’s an 18th century stone built cottage which started life as stables and a hayloft before being converted into a home in a great location making a unique getaway. Walking distance from the beach and within easy access of the surrounding mountains and just south of the famous castle town of Harlech, there is so much to do on the doorstep.

The best way to describe this bijoux holiday cottage between the mountains and sea is like a boutique style hotel that has been put into a stone cottage – beautiful, plush soft furnishings, great colour choices all with a touch of glam. The arrangement is so that the living area is on the first floor and the bedrooms are on the ground floor. Let’s start upstairs first.

A big, open plan kitchen, dining room and sitting room with a high vaulted ceiling and wooden floorboards. The interiors are lovely and the many windows allow in lots of light while the log burner adds to the warmth and cosy feel to the place. The kitchen has everything you need to cater during your time here and include additional touches like the stylish kettle, cutlery and china which make it feel luxurious.

Downstairs there is one double and one bunk room. Beautifully finished with thick carpets and great coloured interiors, the bedrooms are perfectly inviting. The bathroom is also located down here and is a shower over bath with WC and washbasin - a grey, modern colour scheme.

Location

There is a large shared lawned garden with several seating areas which provide views of the sea, open farmland and surrounding hills.

Stabal-Llanfair is 2 miles south of Harlech, which along with the famous Castle, has a number of great cafes and restaurants along with a few shops. 5 minutes from the nearest beach, you are very close to enjoy one of the many blue flag beaches we have in the area.

15 minutes to the South will bring you to Barmouth - a larger town with a better selection of places to eat and shop as well as a beach, fairground, skatepark and a great harbour and prom.

Porthmadog is to the North and again a bigger town with cafes, bars and restaurants as well as the larger supermarkets where you can get all of your supplies for the week. The Ffestiniog Steam railway is located here and is a great way to see the Eryri landscape.

There are so many of the great activities within a relatively short drive away. Portmeirion Village is only a 10-minute drive away, Zip World in Blaenau Ffestiniog 30 minutes as are the Coed Y Brenin Mountain bike trails. 40 minutes to the foot of Snowdon, 30 minutes to Cadair Idris.

Plenty of walking and cycling trails really close to the house - you really are so well placed to enjoy all aspects Eryri has to offer.

Absolutely fabulous. The attention to detail is second to none. Beautifully furnished, quality finish- thoughtful touches (was busy googling how I could replicate some of the lovely items in the house for home!). Super comfy sofa. Garden was such a bonus – not normally someone who sits in garden but it was so pleasant, I felt utterly relaxed. Weather was terrible but I’m convinced we were stuck inside in wales’ most beautiful holiday let, so not all bad! Owners are super friendly and accommodating. We brought our dog who loved it – house perfect for dogs (stairgate great touch) and garden is completely enclosed even our clever cocker spaniel couldn’t escape.

A delightful little cottage in a lovely location, very close to the sea and with great walking and cycling routes from the door. The interior is very comfortable and beautifully designed, light and airy but cosy at the same time. There’s a lovely, sunny garden for relaxing in and we appreciated the very well equipped kitchen. Gary and Adrian are friendly hosts and I’m sure we’ll be back.

Fabulous cottage, generous and welcoming hosts. Great advise about local area made our first stay fun & to see & experience places we would not have found.
A safe & comfortable place in strange new times.

Our stay at Stabal was very comfortable and enjoyable:A fabulous retreat after a wet and windy mountain walking day with a log fire and hot bubble bath. Excellent location too.
Everything was to hand that was needed and very clean.
Thankyou Gary for being so helpful. We have already recommended you to friends!

Absolutely perfect accommodation for a break in Wales. The decor is stunning – comfortable and high quality and the local area was gorgeous.
Loved the wood burning stove – and the log supply was really appreciated!
Thank you for a wonderful stay – we hope to be back!

Probably the best equipped cottage we have stayed in! Beautiful finish, warm and welcoming, we felt at home immediately. Great location for access to beaches and Snowdonia, with a cheeky sea view from the side steps, will definitely look to return and use Dioni again. Excellent stuff!

Had a lovely week at Stabl-Llanfair.
The cottage was beautiful and very comfy for the 3 of us.
It was well positioned for the beach and the lovely town of Harlech, I would recommend a visit to the castle which was very interesting.
The welcome basket was a nice touch, thank you for a great week.

We have just returned from our 4 night stay. It has been absoutley perfect for our first family holiday with our 10 week old baby! The decor is all finished to a very high standard, the location of the property is brilliant, lots of things close by with short car journeys, also some places close enough to walk to! I would definitely recommend going down to the beech to watch the sun set, it’s the perfect setting to finish off any evening! We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you!

I have just returned from a five night stay. It was everything you could wish for, the standard of the decor throughout was to an extremely high standard, it was comfortable and cosy a real home from home. The welcome pack was a lovely bonus to arrive to. The cottage is positioned in a lovely area and in close distance to Barmouth,Harlech,Portmeirion, etc, and also some lovely beaches are located nearby. I would highly recommended, and can’t wait to go back again soon.
