Location

Located between Harlech and Barmouth, the modern four bedroom property with sea views is located in a quiet village and is ideal for exploring the local area. The exterior of the property seamlessly blends modern and traditional styles. Clean lines and plastered walls contrast beautifully with the stone finished walls to the west aspect of the building which blend in with the surrounding architecture. A spacious patio to this end of the property provides plenty of outdoor seating space, and it's a wonderful spot to sit out socialising in the evening sun.

At less than a mile away to the nearest sandy beach, Cardigan Bay's wonderful coastline can be explored easily from Tan-y-Foel including Morfa Dyffryn and Harlech beaches, backed by a large sand dunes. The pretty town of Harlech can be reached in just over ten minutes by car. Packed full of boutique gift shops and cafes, you can also visit the 13th century Harlech Castle which is located on a rocky outcrop offering fabulous views of the town, the coastline and Eryri (Snowdonia). For visitors that are feeling energetic, take a walk up Ffordd Pen Lech, one of the steepest streets in the world. Be sure to reward yourself with cake from one of the numerous cafes once you've reached the top though.

Another seaside town, Barmouth, can be reached in ten minutes by car heading south. A seaside resort with a laid back vibe, Barmouth is suitable for all the family with a fabulous beach and a host of shops and restaurants, all sitting under the backdrop of the Southern Eryri mountains. For hikers and walkers, the Rhinogydd Mountains nearby have some great walking routes to suit all abilities. For walkers more keen on level ground, the Mawddach Trail heading inland from the coast towards Dolgellau along a disused railway track, is ideal for walkers and cyclists. Mountain Bikers can also head to the nearby Coed-y-Brenin Forest Park, Britain's first purpose built mountain bike centre which is also a good spot for woodland walks suitable for all.

Would highly recommend a family break at this property. We were a family of 3 adults, 2 children and a dog staying over October half term. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor space for us all to relax. The property is ideally located in the village within short walking distance of One-stop and the Spar which also has a fabulous butcher. Its location between Harlech and Barmouth meant we were within easy driving distance of lots of activities including several different beaches.

Adrian and Fiona have created a comfortable, thoughtfully furnished and equipped property that is a real home from home. The welcome food hamper was a nice touch. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances, plenty of utensils, cutlery, crockery and more. The lounge has a great range of family games, ideas for day trips and walks in the area. The property is well maintained and clean. The bedrooms all had comfy beds (the super-king was an added bonus) and plenty of storage.

From the lounge and conservatory there are amazing views out across to Cardigan Bay. Whilst we stayed we weren’t lucky enough to catch one of the spectacular sunsets from the cosy conservatory but this didn’t detract from our stay, instead we were able to watch the stormy weather racing across the sea.

There were 6 ladies in Tal Y Foel for the weekend, this house is absolutely stunning, we found plenty of comfy seating, dining and lounging, plenty of pots, pans, crockery cutlery etc, toiletries etc good quality items too, a thoughtfully decorated property. Felt like the owners had done it like a home from home. Loads of sea stuff too, beach towels, paddleboard, crabbing things, torches in the rooms. All of these extras completely unexpected, outstanding!
Also, a loaf, some Welsh cakes. Butter, wine and milk to start you off on a super relaxing holiday. The welcome brochure was very informative.
A lovely time was had by all, even with Storm Amy hanging around.
Thank you for an extremely luxurious, pleasant trip.

A beautiful house that was very clean and had everything you could possibly need in the bathrooms – shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and loo rolls, and in the kitchen there was an abundance of crockery and any kitchen utensil you could desire! The beds were very comfy and the lounge/dining area was superb.
Adrian and Fiona were great hosts – it was good to know they were there if you needed them. We had a couple of things that we contacted them about and they were brilliant and non-intrusive when sorting things out.
The location was good but a bit of a longer walk to the beach than we expected, however it was not a problem. Barmouth has a fab beach for kids with wide stretches of sand and sand dunes to hide in, and is only 10 minutes away in the car. Cricceith is about 35 minutes in the opposite direction with a lovely art gallery, castle and gorgeous views across the bay. We visited Sygun Copper Mine and did some \’panning for gold and treasures\’. Also had an afternoon at Bounce Below which was an eye opener for the oldies in our family and Toby (age 9) was in his element, bouncing all over the place.
Lots to see and do in the area and no chance of getting bored.
Would recommend The Victoria Inn at Llanbedr – great food at a good price.
All in all we had a fab time and would highly recommend this holiday home.

SUE AND FAMILY- Enjoyed our stay. House was very comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Location was good with easy access to local beaches and places to visit. We enjoyed swim at Porthmadog leisure centre on a day when it was not so sunny. The one stop shop at the bottom of the path made shopping easy. As our food delivery failed to arrive (told driver had run out of driving time) we really appreciated the cereals etc provided. Would happily book again in the future .

Stunning house that far exceeded our expectations. Everything you need is supplied including fantastic utility room. Spacious yet comfortable and cosy. Enclosed outdoor space for dogs and plenty of seating/sunbathing areas. Conservatory offers amazing sunrise/sunsets and Master bedroom balcony is perfect for morning tea. Just a lovely peaceful place to be with plenty of amenities in local areas. Would highly recommend *****

What a wonderful holiday, the accommodation was one of the best we have ever stayed at and we stayed at a couple in and around wales. It’s like being at home you got everything that you would have at home, the small touches added too, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, bread, milk, butter, tea, coffee if I had known it had all this included I wouldn’t of taken so much ourselves. We would definitely recommend it to family and friends we maybe booking again for next year. Thank you Adrian and Fiona for letting your lovely holiday home the only thing we missed was a hot tub but that didn’t spoil our holiday.

Just come back from spending five days in this gorgeous house. Wow! Never stayed in a house with this high spec, had everything you needed and more. The en-suite bedroom was amazing, very spacious with a gorgeous balcony to have your morning cuppa. Lovely little village where you can get your amenities from. We we’re a family of six adults and one toddler, but there plenty of space for everyone. Would definitely be returning.

We’ve just returned from our Monday to Friday break. What a stunning, beautiful property this is, we would highly recommend staying here.
Adrian and Fiona were very informative, excellent hosts.
The views were amazing, we enjoyed our early morning coffees on the balcony daily. There were 6 adults, 1 toddler, still plenty of room for us all. We will definitely be returning.

We had a fantastic week at Tan-y-Foel. The house was excellent, very well equipped and of incredibly high spec. With an extended family of 3 generations and a dog we were well catered for. I messaged the owners with a couple of minor issues and a suggestion, and they were very friendly and responsive.

Barmouth is a superb area. The beaches are incredible. Well worth walking up the steps in the old town onto the hills behind the town for the views. Walk over the bridge is interesting, with pleasant walks the other side. Unfortunately the ferry wasn’t running as the season hadnt started. Snowdon is just an hour away. Zipworld and Bounce Below in the slate caverns are great for adrenaline junkies. Harlech castle and the beach worth a visit. Port Meirion is fab and a must-see. Our nearest beach was Bennar beach, which you can walk to from the cottage. For sand AND rockpools the beach at Llandanwg is worth a visit. There’s an interesting medieval church behind the dunes, and a car park and cafe. We ate out twice – Dylans on the main road is a new restaurant. Hafan Artro at Llanbedr was excellent. A good down-to-earth menu of classic dishes which suited all the family. Everything was freshly cooked and tasty, and we were looked after well.

All in all, a superb property in an idyllic part of the world.

A beautiful house with stunning views even when the sun wasn’t shining. We have stayed at plenty of holiday cottages and lodges but never stayed somewhere so well equipped and with such a generous welcome pack. I was concerned as we were staying over Christmas and we were 7 adults but the house had more roasting trays and serving bowls than we could use! Furniture very high quality, so lovely to have a choice of sofas as well with a bigger group. Owners are super friendly and helpful and we would not hesitate to stay again, if you are considering booking – DO IT!!
