This stunning cottage of Welsh slate construction sleeps six and is a fabulous base to explore Eryri (Snowdonia) and many nearby attractions. The village centre location provides access to local amenities and dining options within walking distance.
Entering the traditional slate miners cottage through the front door leads through a small porch into the property's cosy lounge area. Low ceilings and exposed wooden beams show off the character of the cottage and the decor and furnishings are complimentary to the style. A beautiful slate surround inglenook fireplace with large slate mantel is the focal point of the room, with a cosy log burner sitting on the hearth. Chesterfield style fabric sofas and armchairs surround a large antique style coffee table in the centre of the room and a lovely Welsh dresser sits in the corner next to the open staircase. The room is perfect for cosy nights in socialising, with the added option of an LED TV located in the corner of the room. A door leads through from the lounge into a spacious open plan kitchen diner. A large oval farmhouse table seating six provides the perfect space for breakfast or an evening meal, enjoying the company of the group. A sideboard and wine rack also feature in the area - plenty of space to store a few good bottles of red. The beautiful U shaped kitchen area is surprisingly spacious, with plenty of worktop space and storage. The units are finished in cream with a dark granite effect worktop including a double oven and hob to the centre. The kitchen also features a built in dishwasher, microwave oven, kettle and toaster.
The open stairway from the lounge leads to the first floor of the cottage, which includes three spacious bedrooms comprising of two doubles and a single room with pull out. Views over the nearby mountains and woodland can be seen from the front window. The room features a large bed, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, vanity unit and a cosy sofa tucked in the corner of the room. A perfect spot to escape with a book for a little while. The soft furnishings are finished in shades of blue. Next to the master bedroom is the single room. Another spacious room, the wooden frame single bed also includes a pull out mattress providing the option of sleeping two people. A large wardrobe and dressing table complete the space. Across the landing, the third bedroom - another double, is a cosy and comfortable room with plush soft furnishings in lighter warm shades. Two bedside cabinets, a large wardrobe and dresser provide plenty of storage space in this beautiful room. Finally, the bathroom of Ty-Canol is a bright room with quarry stone effect tiles on the floor, a bathtub with shower over, a WC and Victorian style sink with storage above on the window sill. The upstairs landing includes a door which opens to a lovely private raised courtyard area behind the cottage. Nicely landscaped, with potted plants dotted around, a bench is located in a cosy nook of the slate building, providing a quiet space for some outdoor time.
